$1500 tops with a salvage title. it's not the buyer's problem that he spent too much time and money restoring a common as dirt car.
So, got some info from that guy selling that LS400 for $1500. Turns out the only issues he says it has is that the dash lights are out (supposedly a common and well-documented thing with these), there's a small tear in the seat, and that the blower motor for the vents is making a noise. He *says* the motor, transmission, and suspension are all great and that he just got approved on a loan for a new car so he's making room for that. I'm going to take a look at it, and if it's as good as he says it is and there's nothing wrong with it other than the aforementioned problems, I'm probably going to buy it. He sent me some more pictures: What do you guys think? Do you guys think I'm moving too fast?
Nah man, I bought an ex-police ex-taxi 2000$ crown vic from chicago sight unseen (except if pictures count) a week after I started thinking "maybe I should buy a crown vic", then took a 7 hour road trip there the next day. That was probably moving too fast, although I did get incredibly lucky.
My only regret will be that if I get it, it doesn't have black interior but that can be changed, im just happy that I have an opportunity to go back to leather seats :>
Bad torque converter would be my guess. Sounds like it's locking up when it shouldn't.
Dirty throttle body. Had it in my Freestyle and it's a simple fix to correct. Lot of Ford issues with dirty throttle bodies.
As much as I like the Lexus, kinda worried about the cost of maintenance. Timing Belt is holy shit expensive to change
Theres a 64 dart 2 door nearby with a slant that I really want. $1, 000. Valon on your way back you wanna loan me $1000 so I can get it? I wont tell you where it is though cause you may buy it... Also now I'm finishing the final touches on this rat rod style roof rack for a EF civic. Next I'm constructing a similar rack for a Civic wagon, without the superstructure, but with a wind fairing. The feet are threaded on the bottom to accept 4 3/8" bolts. They're getting drilled through the roof with bolts coming from inside threaded into the rack which makes it kind of theft proof. All the bolts on the legs are welded to the brackets as well.
As much as I like the Lexus, kinda worried about the cost of maintenance. Timing Belt is holy shit expensive to change
change it yourself, timing belt is about as easy as spark plugs
My timing belt requires taking the engine half out and requires official tools to get the timing right [editline]12th August 2015[/editline] And the tools are like £100 on their own
but its a lexus with a v8, i highly doubt you'd need to take the engine halfway out, timing can be sorted by just locking the camshafts.
Yeah its pretty intensive on the LS but maybe I can get him to do a lower price and that extra money can go towards saving for the change. Hopefully it was already done! [editline]12th August 2015[/editline] www.lexls.com/tutorials/engine/timingbelt.html
My only regret will be that if I get it, it doesn't have black interior but that can be changed, im just happy that I have an opportunity to go back to leather seats :>
Black paint and leather is overrated; you'll melt in the summer time when you sit in it. I've used an infrared thermometer to measure the heat between my dark purple Toyota and my dad's gray Honda, and the Toyota was like ~25 fahrenheit hotter.
I hate leather seats so much. They make your ass and back become drenced with sweat in summer, and nearly give you ass frostbite in winter. Unless they're heated and cooled, then they are vastly superior to cloth seats.
I'm pretty excited but also apprehensive at the same time, I really hope I don't end up getting it and it fucks me over and it blows itself up
Won't happen with a Lexus LS or a Mercedes W126 S-Class if they are running cars with no transmission issues. One of my friends owns a 1993 LS and loves it to death, leaky air suspension and all. But I prefer my Mercedes-Benz, there is just something more special about owning a 30 year old car with a star on the hood.
That's good news lol. My Mazda 6 had black leather with a black interior and I never had any issues burning myself. I mean yeah it was hotter but all I had to do was let the heat out for a minute before I got in or just crank the AC.
The only thing worse than a leather interior is a vinyl interior.
The only thing worse than a leather interior is a vinyl interior.
I dunno... I'm rather fond of it.
$1500 tops with a salvage title. it's not the buyer's problem that he spent too much time and money restoring a common as dirt car.
I didn't get. There was paint over spray, tiny dents in the hood/trunk, a weird dent on the inside near the driver side headlight, and he tried to totally ignore the fact that it had a salvage title. Any opinions on these? 1999 Miata (148,000 Miles) - $2,995 http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/5163155294.html 1999 Miata (162,000 Miles) - $1,500 http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/5170058382.html
no popups, no soul.
no popups, no soul.
There's a lack of NA Miata's in decent condition in my area. But I have an email alert setup on Craigslist to notify me of postings.
wow yesterday my friend was in an accident on a gravel road, both card flew into the ditch and his jeep lit itself on fire and completely burnt down. Everyone walked away with bruises luckily, but holy shit. I stopped by the crash site today and found a solid puddle of melted aluminum wheel, it looks damn cool. Anyways it will become a legendary relic and we will leave flowers at the site every once in a while.
Brakes added to my car, I think there might be a bit of a bias problem :v: Also, S52 swapped in today, totally disassembled my parts car and cut it into pieces, and swapped out the suspension on this E30
Your car has a 45degree bend in it

I'm probably crazy but a ridiculous hot leather seat is an amazing feeling. Not that good in the back though because waterfalls of sweat.
How much does it usually cost to get a car or motorcycle painted?
How much does it usually cost to get a car or motorcycle painted?
A good paintjob for a car is a very expensive affair. You can get cheaper paintjob, but paint is something where you really get what you pay for. It should be a fraction of the price on the motorcycle, what with the paint only being on a couple of small body panels that are relatively easily removed.
How much does it usually cost to get a car or motorcycle painted?
As cheap as $300 at Maaco, to $1,500 at Maaco, to $10,000 at a professional shop, to anywhere...
professionally plasti-dipped is only 800 B^)
