If you want collectors insurance which is a fraction of the cost you have to apply and send pictures of certain areas of the car,it has to look nice,it has to look stock. The last thing you need is to have an accident and they void your insurance.

Ah i see. Does it allow you to actually use and drive the car? Also I noticed that it allows for a bike rack to be installed. I'd say you definitely need one. I know a guy who can hook you up.

Looking at it again and again im not sure you can legally start the car or go near it .Also crap I dont have any carpet in my car so now I dont qualify.I cant ride a bike.
Does anyone know the status of E85? Is it worth it anymore? I figure it'd be easier to run E85 on a boosted vehicle than to pay out the ass for 93+ octane. I know a few gas stations around her have some e(something, may not be 85, maybe 60) but I imagine it would have to be atleast 20% cheaper than 91 to even make a difference.

Collectors insurance allows you to drive it but not as a daily driver. Like you can go for a Sunday drive or drive to a car show or something like that.

That's what i figured; basically classic car insurance. It insures it if you drive to a car show, or go on a drive, but if you use your car to go to the grocery store, you messed up. That's why the insurance is cheap - there's a minimal amount of time it spends out in the weather. I think you'd also find that the car has to be stored in a locked garage as well.
I go through a normal insurance company for my car and it's only $45.00 for two cars. There's no point in full coverage as they'd never value my cars at what I do. They're 40 years old so they're junk.
Ive got historic plates on my 72 chevy truck and I dont have to renew it ever, but Im not sposed to use it regularly. Special occasions and all that shit. That works out well because it sits in a storage shed for all but 5 times a year.
In other news Ive found a 36cc weed whacker motor that I want to mount on a bicycle back wheel with a friction drive setup, and some sort of system on a spring to keep the roller off the back wheel until I pull a lever to engage it. Then I can pedal around normally with a slightly off balance bike, then pull the lever, engage the motor and it bump starts itself, BAM instant buzzy raw 2 stroke power.
Cant seem to figure out how to get the inner part of the clutch off the shaft though.

Actually Collectors insurance is for "pleasure use" which is everything but driving to work or school.
45$ for two cars I wish we had that here minimum yearly rate for a single car is 2000$.

These seem like what I am looking for aluminum heads with good airflow not sure about build quality.
Good lord a thousand dollars for heads. Honestly the first thing I'd do is poke around junkyards for aftermarket heads.
Another thing the machinist said he wanted to line bore the crank journals but reading up it shouldnt need that.

if you can get it locally it's worth it. I have to drive 45 minutes to get it so I don't use it
replaced the dirty tank and fuel pump, and got her running again :)

is it racist for your car to do blackface?

We dont have junkyards around here that have any cars older than 10 years 1000$ is cheap from what im seeing if I wanted edelbrock heads id be looking at 2000$ at least.

Quality of 440source heads vary, the bare castings are good, the seats and guides and the quality of such is where you're saving your money. My cousin got a set of performer RPM heads for his 360 and after running them for 2000km he had a bad seat which resulted in the valve not sealing 100%. When he took it in to get fixed he had to get it decked too, but I think thats with most new heads anyways since they get accustomed to heat cycles.
you wont find any aftermarket heads at the junk yard... ever. At least not on a dodge, mopar guys love their stock shit for some reason, thats one part of the reason the aftermarket isnt huge.
[editline]20th August 2015[/editline]
Your car should already have 10:1 compression pistons, if you reeeeally want to raise compression, pull off the valve cover and find the casting number, then google and find out if its an open chamber or closed chamber. If its an open chamber then you can switch out to closed chamber with a thicker gasket and I think it might work, or not... may have too much compression

Its a 1968 so it should be open.
Looking up Ill buy it bare and get the machining done and put my own parts in.
The price difference between bare and complete is 48 dollars so that isnt reassuring for the parts they are putting in.
looking to raise the compression ratio to 10.5-1.
Also 10-1 is what the specs say but it is quite possibly a lot lower.

I want to try and replicate this with some minor differences mostly different heads and not a highrise intake.
I don't know if y'all do trailer and truck stuff but here recently I've been thinking about how to make it easyer and nicer to go from a flat 4 connector to a 7way rv plug.
And all I can think about is how goofy it looks with the flat 4 wires going into the plug and making it look like shit.

Get a weatherproof electrical tallywacker and run a 7way wire from your 7way to the box and done! It looks professional!

That moment when you have to run to the gas store before they close to exchange your oxygen bottle because you left it on.

How reliable is Craigslist? I want to start hunting for an e36, but I've never used Craigslist before.
Got hit on the highway this morning, bitch just fucking drove off. What is wrong with people

Pursuit and proceed to do a pit maneuver, send the bitch in the ditch.
This shit isn't fury road I-20 gets a bit clogged.

3 out of my 5 cars have been purchased on Craigslist. Just remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it is. People typically will try to talk up whatever they have like it's the god damn Holy Grail. I typically let them spew their non-sense and then proceed to destroy everything they just said. Depending on how the person treats me is how much I try to haggle. If you're a dick, I'm going to haggle hard core. If they're nice, I typically give them asking price within reason.
Also, check the neighbor hood that you're going to be meeting at. If at all possible, try to meet at a well known spot like QuickTrip and bring a friend. Also notify any loved ones where you will be, when, and what for. You never know and it's always good to be safe.
Rebuilding my KE35's 3K engine at the moment.

Did you get a tag number?
welp, clutch died driving my sisters to another city, drove 30km in 40 minutes through a city with no clutch.
no gear grinding here, no rally driving to avoid stopping when people were doing left turns, nope.

I was stopped in traffic, she was probably texting or something since she was doing like 70 as she came up on us. Watched her in my mirror as she locked up the brakes and swerved, but she clipped the bumper, cut across three lanes of traffic and drove up the shoulder on the far side of the highway to get away. Didn't see her plates.

Waiting for someone to try this while I'm at work so I can unload a mag on them and articulate they rammed me and thought I was going to die
(I'm joking, much love, did you get any of their info?)

Giulia spied on the ring!
Is the Giulia an Audi/BMW competitor? It looks slightly German.
Is the Giulia an Audi/BMW competitor? It looks slightly German.
Yeah. Most saloons will look the same now due to European pedestrian safety rules and such, kinda sucks. The Giulia will destroy the RS and M series though :v:

Called the police etc but they said they can't do anything without a plate or anything. I gave a description of the vehicle but "beige Toyota Highlander" isn't much to go on.
