I'll offer no advice on that, I'm super biased against Japanese cars. But if you want a car that looks like it fell out of a synthwave video, that one fits the bill.
What if I told you a starion is also a dodge conquest
I secretly really really really really want a conquest/starion.

That kinda sucks, my 760 was RWD and a blast to drive on ice. AFAIK if you buy a Volvo with AWD you can only get an automatic trans, or at least that seemed to be the case when I was shopping around for XC70's.
So It's the time in my life when I get my first car, and I've been scouring Craigslist for something. my budget is 4k, and I found this nice looking Volvo and I was wondering what you guys who know more about cars then I do think about it.
Probably late but don't buy that car!
My dad had one brand new and in the two years he had it, everything broke. Engine, suspension, you name it. He had to go to the dealership every month to get something fixed. The transmission had to be replaced twice and died for the third time a week after he sold it.
[editline]wutwut[/editline]
He swore to never buy a volvo again, but a couple years later after his touareg fried completely out of nowhere he got a newer model xc70 and it was all fine forever. Maybe the older one was a fluke?

His dad already went and looked at it and said it was a bust. That one isn't an option anymore.
What if I told you a starion is also a dodge conquest
Isn't the Dodge Conquest a badge engineered Starion? It's still a Japanese car, it just has a Dodge badge.
Was part of the partnership between Mitsubishi and Dodge, the Dodge Stealth was another japanese Dodge.
I would LOVE to own a starion/conquest, pull out the junker 4G54 truck engine and dump a 4G63T in there or some sort of v8.
How many August birthdays do we have in this thread? :v:
Tomorrow the 23rd.
I will be 31.
Fuck.
:suicide:
And broke.
And get no gifts, or money or otherwise anything.
Wouldn't be so bad, I could just get myself something, but my job has been so slow the last 2 and a half months I'm nearly broke. I get paid as such: 10/hr WHILE working on a vehicle, and what ever tiny amount the boss decides for little things around the shop.
I literally worked 2 hours last week, I made a GRAND TOTAL of 20 bux.... but he paid me $100 out of pocket.
Someone PLEASE tell me this is colossally wrong and I need to tell him to go fuck himself in the face because I really need a reason to fucking let this guy have it.

A part time job sounds better that that
I've spent the entire last week on paid vacation....
And the only thing I've done is hung out with friends, eat ice cream and work on my truck....
My PTO comes in December where I'll spend four days hunting and four days wrenching on my Uncles old Corvette up in PA. :v:

My mind is telling me to buy a 2000 Acura Integra GS, but my heart is telling me to buy a 1986 Saab 900.

Oh there is someone older than me in here. Im only 26.
I feel your pain too. I work a lot of hours and dont usually get paid but once every two months, then the rest when the boat is actually done. The rack business is not bringing a lot of money yet since I just started. And im going to need a lot more money soon. Same thing from earlier. But more on that later.
my liver is telling me to buy that AMC Eagle for sale in Florida

GS usually means automatic and the extremely mediocre leather seats, GS/GSR swaybars were standard front and rear by 99 on all models too. The Integra auto trans isn't terrible if it was well kept and it tends to shift with "authority" in higher miles.
It won't deprecate really at all and the 2000/2001 OBD2B cars have a chipped key so a random tweaker can't just walk up with a Civic key and drive away but a real car thief could figure out the "secret" bypass maneuver which makes it worthless. Replacement motors are $550ish shipped on a pallet to your door, aftermarket is everything you could imagine.
I want to hit the lottery, buy an M35A2, learn to drive stick, and DD the shit out of it

Its a manual GS. The only issues are faded paint on the top and hood. It's bone stock.
I also see another Integra with 206k miles but otherwise it looks good for $2500.

As much as I'd love something cool or quirky I'll probably end up with a late 90s/early 2000s civic.

The worst parts are:
52 hours a week non-negotiable, no vacation time, no sick leave unless it's hospital worthy.

That sounds illegal

Oh id walk. I dont think id stay weather I was broke or not. And yes it doeant sound legal
I'm really on the bleeding edge of telling Lynn (the secretary and only reason I've stayed so far) to tell mike I wont be coming back because this shit is killing me.
All the people I used to fix shit for have since given up on asking me to fix their stuff except my roomates workplace, which is a vet clinic and happens to be his dads vet clinic. It's mostly computer stuff there, sometimes fixing the sonogram thing when it bugs out.
Everything else, which was like 13 or 14 people who actually paid good don't call anymore, no computers, cars or whatever to fix. ALL my time is taken up and my only day off is BOMBARDED with shit to do or flat dead.
Fuck this "adult" shit, I might just go live in the woods in Georgia or something...
It's basically kill yourself your whole life working a shit job or with shit people, struggle to have what you really want and die with nothing to show for it. And whats worse, is it's completely embedded in chaos via random encounter and occurrence.
And convolutedness.
Ok, I'm done ranting.
Later when it's dark I'll post a picture of my LED lit cluster, looks fucking boss.
Hey guys, I'm working on a non car related paint project and I need some advice. I got some grainy areas on my color coat from holding the can at an angle. Would a thick coat of clear fix it? I ask because I'm not sure if the color coat is sandable.
I figure a clear coat would smooth the texture and give me a thick enough surface to cut and buff.
[editline]Edit:[/editline]
Picked up some 1000 and 2000 grit paper anyway.
