I wish it was cheaper to import vehicles. I'd love to have a Zil-131 or a KRAZ. [editline]23rd August 2015[/editline] Or, uh... http://www.mortarinvestments.eu/products/jeeps,-trucks-a-motos-3/maz-537-towing-vehicle-342#currency=USD
Not my vehicle, not my problem. Car prowlers are not limited to areas. They will go to every neighborhood trying shaved keys and handles. Wealthy or poor.
The extent of people like that where I live are tweakers who want to clean out the ashtray, rip the glove box off, joy ride it til it's out of gas, do tons of drugs in it, then dump it after trying to break it. The actual people interested in stealing cars to steal parts here only steal from people they know of and only really steal near where they live. Having a garage usually fixes a lot of things too, unless of course you own a Type-R lol then your car isn't safe anywhere.
Not my vehicle, not my problem. Car prowlers are not limited to areas. They will go to every neighborhood trying shaved keys and handles. Wealthy or poor.
I'm working a special detail until further notice in a real nice, upscale, well-lit, community-built neighborhood. Their biggest problem? Car break-ins and garage break-ins. It has nothing to do with the neighborhood and everything to do with the awareness of the community and amount of viable targets. Which would you hit: gang territory where everyone drives a civic with a super aftermarket remote alarm, a club, and people hanging out all night on the corners with guns and knives, or an upscale white community where everyone stays inside with their blinds closed and their iPads and laptops on the passenger seat of their lexus?
Parking my Subaru outdoors all the time in a populated village always crowded by drunk people and sometimes crime (had a shooting within the block a week ago) certainly makes me skeptical. I think I posted it back in July '14 but my work trucks windshield got smashed in two places parked right next to my Volvo.
I'm still carless for the time being and I'm seeing what all my options are - just discovering that LS400s are Miata cheap and their v8s are hilariously reliable. If I got one to replace my Protege, my fuel economy would only be marginally worse by 2-4 mpg :v: Also surprising to me is that its lazy v8 is still enough to let the car do this with an automatic, considering the weight. I wanna autocross one lol
i just got my motorcycle license :---------)
It's gotta be a nightmare procuring parts for all those old Soviet cars and trucks.
if you can't fix it with jb weld you probably don't need it
It's gotta be a nightmare procuring parts for all those old Soviet cars and trucks.
It would probably not be too tough to get parts shipped to you, shipping costs would be hell though. For the most part you wouldn't need to replace parts that much, it'd just be a long process if the engine was shot to shit. [sp]Of course there's a popular solution for engine troubles.[/sp]
I've been working on the engine all day. This thing is sooo small. It's easily the same size as the 2.5L it will be replacing. For the size, I say it makes quite the power. Brake clean for size. 1998 Chrysler 3.8L 180HP/240ft/lbs (215HP/245ft/lbs with newer heads and cam) [t]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/c0XWImBG00N7b5wZ1VF-e6TmTKIKM9tfyz5zC8riO9A=w1300-h975-no[/t] 1991 Ford 302 (185HP/~270ft/lbs) [t]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-udk9kUmqYtcpjNKwy9n8dEMnHPEJTICpjFwo3hRb80=w1300-h975-no[/t] Also, can anyone find the cam specs on a 2001+ cam for a Chrysler 3.8L? I've got the specs of the 98
Doesn't the first gen 3.5L heads fit the 3.8? Not asking as a recommendation to use, but to see if I'm thinking of the right engines.
Uhh. They might? But the 3.3/3.8 is a pushrod engine while the 3.5/4.0 (which is based off of the 3.3/3.8 platform) is a SOHC head. It might bolt on the block, but doubt it.
So my friend who smashfaced his jeep is trying to decide which new car to buy, bmw 3 series (not the i6 one sadly), or a chevy ss. I did some light research on the ss and its a rebranded holden commodore vf with an ls3 shitting out 415 hp and around the same torque, and is a cousin to the caprice ppv, which my uncle drives as a hyway patrol car and loves. The descision comes down to 1 thing, the commodore gets around 15mpg and makes roadtrips far more expensive, whereas the beemer is just about as fast, looks better, and gets at least twice the mpg. Any opinions?
an entry level turbo 4 banger BMW is "just about as fast" as an SS? edit: not sure which BMW you are referring to since the 320 and 328 are both 4 bangers, but the 320i is 6.6s from 0-60, the 328i is 5.6s, and an SS is 4.4 seconds to 60 so the SS is at least a second or two faster than a four banger BMW, which is definitely not "just about as fast" in my book

Has a collapsed lifter so after I pull the 440 I think I'll go through it, maybe just a mild hydraulic roller cam but one thing leads to another and I got a 600hp big block. Its actually in decent shape, damn shame its giving its heart and ass for the duster Getting some serious deja vu here, big car with a big motor thats getting shoehorned into a small car (mercury 460 swapped into a 89 notchback fox) [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/58F40069-777A-4AEB-AFF1-D411F4DB5D6C_zpsgedrzt2g.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/1F793686-CC8A-4BF0-A859-7833ADC6704B_zpsfpspna1o.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/EDEC0B94-6FC0-4CA9-AB94-7FB39AEAC51D_zpsghorn9kj.jpg[/thumb]
I'm so god damn sick of seeing VW Jettas for sale I might just avoid buying one because I can't stand the thought of owning one of them for 5+ years

But I get sentimental over stupid shit.
Its sorta rescueable, i'm the same way though, if its a good car then it stays a good car. This would need both quarters, engine rebuild, a door, trans rebuild, convert back to gas (its on propane), tires, and paint. The shitty thing is that after thats all said and done its worth maybe $10000 after $20000 invested, there just isnt a market for them. As far as 4 door 60s barges go, this is one of my favorites. Really cool body lines and a nice and sleak look to it. Lowered, maybe with a slightly chopped roof so it mimics the 300C (small windows) it would be pretty rad
I was thinking about getting a Honda NM4 soon. I really love the look of it [thumb]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/x-UC--6bMw8/maxresdefault.jpg[/thumb] If only it came in white or red
iunno looks p. white to me.
nm4s look dumb as hell
iunno looks p. white to me.
production models only come in black haha
nm4s look dumb as hell
shit looks robocop as fuck I want it
Speaking of landbarges, I loved my friend's '67 New Yorker. So fucking cool, and really enjoyable to drive. [t]http://i.imgur.com/gjrAvz9.jpg?1[/t] Also today I went to drive my MR2 and my battery was dead at 8 volts. I think I need to search for a draw tomorrow. It's sort of odd, everything was fine a few days ago when I did the oil and I didn't turn or leave anything on, but today it was dead.

The rust on the visible QP looks like an easy patch job. It actually looks like you could fill the holes with lead (not bondo, that's a sin)
