an entry level turbo 4 banger BMW is "just about as fast" as an SS? edit: not sure which BMW you are referring to since the 320 and 328 are both 4 bangers, but the 320i is 6.6s from 0-60, the 328i is 5.6s, and an SS is 4.4 seconds to 60 so the SS is at least a second or two faster than a four banger BMW, which is definitely not "just about as fast" in my book
Those were pretty much his words. I did some research and recommended he get the ss and replace the bowtie badges with Holden ones.
Damn that's cool. I cant wait to start doing engine stuff to my fox.
It went like a fucking animal. The engine was in there so good you'd swear it was factory. If it interests you I can go into detail. Still regret selling that car, sold it for a shitpile SN95 because I needed something to drive since I hydrolocked my chrysler

Needs better wheels though. :v:
I notice you seem to like replacing whole quarter panels, why don't you use patch panels? The rust on the visible QP looks like an easy patch job. It actually looks like you could fill the holes with lead (not bondo, that's a sin)
Usually on classics, you can buy an entire quarter panel. It's a little easier to line up the whole side of the car, rather than part of it, because even if you're off, there's nothing remaining to say you got it in the wrong spot - no landmarks. Plus it's just safer to cut out more if you have the metal to fill it in.
It's gotta be a nightmare procuring parts for all those old Soviet cars and trucks.
There's the advantage of them making the same truck for 50 years or so. Plenty of parts available, but again, shipping's going to be expensive.

I guess it hadn't occurred to me that that was less of a concern to, probably, the majority of people. :v:
Holy fuck I never noticed that in the movie.
do yourself a favor and dont watch any of them. Filled with inaccuracies.

I guess it hadn't occurred to me that that was less of a concern to, probably, the majority of people. :v:
The problem with having an "original" car and daily driving it is thus: You have to modernize it a little. Just because it worked from day 1 didn't mean it worked good. You can preserve the original car, and all of it's metal, but it isn't worth anything to do so. If you want to get a car with minimal rust, go to CA or AZ and pick it up. But where most people are on the East Coast, or up in the great white north, there's nothing but rust. I would rather have a shiny nice, new quarter panel than a rusty one with a piece of sheet metal welded to it somehwere where I know where it is and it bothers me for eternity. If you put a new quarter on, you extend the lift of that chunk of the car and it can keep living. As long as it's on the road, it's preserved in my eyes.
[thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/Mobile Uploads/image_zpsejm892pd.jpg[/thumb] Picked this thang up, god DAMN is it heavy! Has a collapsed lifter so after I pull the 440 I think I'll go through it, maybe just a mild hydraulic roller cam but one thing leads to another and I got a 600hp big block. Its actually in decent shape, damn shame its giving its heart and ass for the duster Getting some serious deja vu here, big car with a big motor thats getting shoehorned into a small car (mercury 460 swapped into a 89 notchback fox) [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/58F40069-777A-4AEB-AFF1-D411F4DB5D6C_zpsgedrzt2g.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/1F793686-CC8A-4BF0-A859-7833ADC6704B_zpsfpspna1o.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u423/Lawblind/EDEC0B94-6FC0-4CA9-AB94-7FB39AEAC51D_zpsghorn9kj.jpg[/thumb]
Hey how are the seats carpet and door panels in that thing? Mine are tan and brown but the seat has seen better days. [editline]24th August 2015[/editline] Also can I get a pic of the carb trying to figure out wth is going on with mine.
Uhh. They might? But the 3.3/3.8 is a pushrod engine while the 3.5/4.0 (which is based off of the 3.3/3.8 platform) is a SOHC head. It might bolt on the block, but doubt it.
I was thinking of the Jeep 3.7 V6, actually. Sorry. I think the heads proper would bolt and fit, but the cams are naturally slightly different with different timing.

[editline]24th August 2015[/editline] Also can I get a pic of the carb trying to figure out wth is going on with mine.
Whole interior is mint, its tan/brown too. Carpet idk, I think its actually decent. You can have it all, just a matter of getting it to you. It runs on propane so no carb pics. If you're running the stock thermo-bog then the only fix is a good holley. As for 460 swapping the fox over a 351, I bought the car with a completely screwed 460 already swapped in. It has a C6 trans, bolted right to the stock cross member, the driver side exhaust manifold was a stock truck manifold and the passenger was off a 351 cleveland. I hogged out the ports and combined the 460 and 351c gaskets along with a lotta copper RTV and it didnt leak in the slightest. Stock 4cyl springs, home made mounts, electric fuel pump, rerouted the belts to have power steering and alt (using just stock brackets in different positions) Probably some more things I'm forgetting. 460 beats the 351 in every category except weight, more displacement, better heads, more power, unless you want your car to be sorta nimble with a 351 the 460 is the best for all out speed
Oh man, thank god my friend's brother has a welder. I have to patch a hole on the inside of the front wheel well on the MR2. It's the size of a baseball and its at the upper part of the passenger side footwell. Plus there's a small hole in the trunk and water likes to evaporate up into it and get all of my shit dew-y. My friend and his brother know how to weld too so it looks like it's time to hunt for MR2 holes!

It has a holley but someone was not kind to this carb at all I kinds just guessed when it came to throttle springs and linkages.
I remember seeing a Buick Reatta a while back and I learned that it had a CRT touchscreen that controlled almost everything. It's like a goddamn pipboy for your car. [t]http://carsorder.com/images/buick-reatta-692.jpg[/t] How come there's no love for it? It doesn't look half bad. It's like [del]mid-engined[/del] Honda Prelude. (The ass looks like ass though)
I love the Reatta. I think I've only ever seen one in person though.
They're uncommon and only come with a auto. Its more or less a grand Prix coupe iirc. [editline]24th August 2015[/editline] I like them but wouldn't pay $3000 for one
It's like mid-engined Honda Prelude.
its a transverse front engine though
its a transverse front engine though
Wait, I think i'm thinking of something else. :v: I'm dumb. My random research was during the time I was looking for MR2s and Fieros so I might have mixed them up. lmao

Be all end all I can take the seat covers off I think and ship it that way to save cash. i'll grab some pics for you sometime tomorrow
I'm trying to remember a car. It came out within the last 15 years (maybe the last 8 years). It's kind-of styled like an old hot-rod and it's very pointy. I think it was made by Chrysler or Pontiac or something like that.

TBH when I think 'future car' I think that kind of styling. According to the wikiped page it had the same kw as Plymouth's V8s, although I'm not sure what's wrong with V6 (apart from the 'It's not a hotrod' argument)
just a scrape over 200hp from a 3.5 litre v6 isnt that good
I love a good v6. that isn't a good v6 [editline]25th August 2015[/editline] has Plymouth even put a v8 in anything since 1974

Plymouth was a sad mockery of its former self from the 70s on.
Well Plymouth doesn't exist anymore so
yeah but they did after 1974
