I'll say that a TBI intake sounds cool, especially with the lid flipped. Has an angry whine.
Does an exhaust leak downstream of the cat make your car pollute any more, or does it just make it louder? That SE-R I found doesn't pass smog, allegedly because a hole rotted through in the muffler... but I thought all the muffler did was suppress sound.. set me straight AA
My truck didn't pass a sniffer test with a big gaping hole in the muffler, but did with a new muffler(and cat)
F motors may not make a lot of power stock, but I hear they really like boost.
They actually have extremely good heads and are pretty easy to build N/A or boost if you go through fully building them. Bisimoto built a N/A 400hp F22A back when, supposedly their "off the shelf All Motor F22 build" makes 250whp N/A.

Your other option of course is any old Accord/Prelude platform drivetrain like the F20B or H23A bluetops which can be had for dirt cheap which is basically drop in 200whp with boltons.

That's... Glorious....
I really really want a NB Miata now, J series V6's are amazing motors and it would have been right at home right in the S2000.

Whatever's behind the cat doesn't affect the pollution, the cat could be shite though
It was the EJ25D that had headgasket issues, which was never even in the Impreza.
The EJ251/253 had less common issues in the early years, though it was miniscule compared to the 25D issues.
That being said, even the 25D usually went 150-200k+ miles without issues.
My 02 EJ251 devloped the leak, but it was an external HG leak (212,000mi , original head gasket :V) and I just lived with it. Worked fine except the coolant wouldn't leave the reservoir when left overnight.
He says it doesn't pass NOx but owes it to the muffler... so he's talking out of his ass?
I assume if you can't pass smog, you just have to do exhaust work indefinitely until it passes ..?..
There was too much oxygen in my exhaust hitting the sensor iirc, basically leaky exhaust
Sooo, someone was gonna paint the interior of my racing car.
The fucking paintgun exploded in his face. All over both of the fucking cars

Fuck. How does a paint gun explode?

IIRC, Subaru has a service bulletin out about a coolant additive for those that have the external coolant leak. It's not the 'right' fix, but if it's approved by them, i would say it's safe.
Fuck. How does a paint gun explode?
By getting too much air pressure
Wtf was he running, like 200psi? That looks like a MF nightmare to clean off. Yikes.
By getting too much air pressure
Agreed.
Could have forgot to set the pressure regulator properly.
A lot of people don't think to even use pressure regulators, let alone set them right for each tool.
Oh it gets even better
There was a planned visit from someone tomorrow who wanted to buy the dark blue E36 :suicide:
You know.... I can run 160psi into one of thoes paintguns with the can on the bottom...
Granted when I paint I don't give a shit on how it turns out as long as their is paint on the thing.
Now.... The guns don't last very long... but dear lord you can blow threw that entire 1L of paint in like a minute. And that's exactly why I do it. Saves a crap load of time. (Painting I beams for metal buildings)

They want to sell this one for $1800 now.
Please god I hope the head gasket is still good or was replaced.
Is that a budget 500hp? Or do you have some expensive parts laying around?
Intake:$150
Carb:$300
Headers:$900 (car specific, other cars are like $250)
Cam kit:$200
Aluminum heads:$1000
Engine itself:$400?
Gasket kit:$120
Fairly cheap to build these monsters

Its sorta like a budget build, just avoiding going too crazy with it till later

Oh its a v6 too
Gangsters don't do V8s. At least, not in my section of VA. Anytime you pull up to the back of a tricked out Charger in my city, you can easily spot the R/T badging with the single, thin passenger-side exhaust tip and you just groan if you know the cars well enough.
BMW Z3
Failed for high CO last month, HC was 170 with a max of 220.
Changed my O2 sensor and went back, truck started idling like shit when i get there, fail again CO was fine at high idle and idle, HC was 3,237 out of the max 220 ppM
Woops.

Bug's don't float. Well, atleast ones with a hole through the driver's floor don't.

Bust out the paint and laquer thinner and get rid of it. Shouldn't be too bad. Yeah I'd say the reg wasn't set. I only use something like 25psi if that to spray.
Theres too many questions that require an answer more than "opps"
I was at Foster's Freeze buying ice cream late at night to combat the heat a few days ago and a straight piped Mazda RX-3 blew by. Goddamn it was loud. It was like a chainsaw on steroids.
Dear god that water looks cold. Hey atleast it was a beetle and those things drain easily!
Welp it looks like that white bugeye might be a bust. Talked to the owner and she said that someone looked at it today and somebody else is offering a VW for it (which is the only thing they're willing to trade it for).
I can't get out there to even look at it till wednesday and even then it would be after I get out of work at 4. So it's pretty likely that it'l be sold before I can even look at it.
I tried calling the guy with the nice Forester but he didn't pick up and his inbox was full.
fml this car search has been nothing but unsuccessful.
Speaking of mismatched wheels I just bought these 2 piece toms wheels (made by rays engineering) for $58 on yahoo auctions japan lol.

shippings $100-150 after fees, but its still better than buying shitty replica wheels. Im bidding on some other stuff too to flip or use as drift spares, but im mainly looking for cheap stuff.
