doesnt run

too much to list
that looks more blue to me which is oil, but it may just be the video. white is coolant and grey is unburnt fuel but this looks too light for that
if it is indeed oil, disconnect the PCV. if it goes away it's most likely valve stem seals. If there's no gas in your oil you can safely rule out the rings
if it's the head gasket you'd likely get coolant into the oil, so check for that nasty milky shit that happens when water and motor oil mix. if you don't find any then it's probably not the head gasket.
its an old engine too.. I wouldnt be concerned about smoking at 6k.

I love the Z32 but really can't get into the looks of the Z31. Something about those headlights and big panel gaps...
if you find that disconnecting the PCV does the trick then you can just convert it to a road draft breather to pretend the problem doesn't exist. you should never hit that kind of RPM while stationary anyway unless you're doing a burnout or revving like an ass
Automotive Addicts V. Got 99 Problems and Our Cars Are All But One
Well I changed the oil and got some on my fingers. That was bout 3 hours ago and they still smell like gas. SO. Rings.
But I'll give it some time. If the gas smell comes back, I'm calling rings. I'll try the PCV thing, but I'm pretty sure all of that was disconnected when I bought it. The guy that owned it before me cut out that exhaust in the back and ruined the skirt. Disconnected ALL regulations stuff, so it idled like shit. I hooked it all back up, the video was recorded just after hooking all the vacuum lines back up.

Take your dipstick out, then take it away from the car, don't wipe it off, put a lighter up to it.
If it catches fire, you are correct, you have fuel in the oil, if it's very hard to light fire - then you likely don't.
I didn't tell you to do this.

PCV system/crankcase needs a vacuum applied to it with modern systems. Unless you have a really big damn hole or have a turbo car where vacuum is not easy to come by and stuffing boost into it definitely doesn't work. A non pressurized system doesn't cut it for properly venting/evacuating the crankcase.
If you're in a pinch you could toss one of those inline air/water separators for an air compressor on the PCV line to filter out the oil, no one's really measured how restrictive they are and if they hurt flow. JB Weld with some fittings to stuff a PCV on the top of a bottle and a input on the side should prove a point and also allow you to check how much the system is really puking out.
how ludicrously expensive would it be to pay a shop to do the work to convert my accord to a 5 speed manual
edit: i don't think ill seriously do this unless it ends up being not insanely expensive. The car is in great mechanical condition (save for the slow oil leak and the mysterious smoke that is likely related) and has a lot of sentimental value to me.

Make sure your fuel regulator isn't puking gas through your vacuum lines or your fuel injectors aren't stuck open. If you have fuel injectors which are body feed TBI style junk you need new seals. Do some wet/dry compression tests and check your plugs for being covered in gas.

Probably about $750 to $1200 depending on how your source your parts and who you have do it.

road draft breathers apply a vacuum via the venturi effect. same principle carburetors work on

$750-$1200 including sourcing and buying parts or just for the work?

You're not going to pay someone to do this, are you?
life savings for the work

Well, it's a NA 2.5L Dodge with TBI. So it's a single injector. I'll look into the fuel regulator stuff, but as an added note, the car seams to smell very rich at idle.
that smell may just be a bad cat too

probably not when I see a sweet 1989 mk2 GTI 16v for $2800

vpower is 93 by US measurements which should be 98 there

Shell Optimax before Vpower was 98 here, but Vpower is 99 [only 99 in the UK and denmark apparently]
Turns out my Craigslist troll was actually a girl flirting with me rather than a guy taking the piss, which was great! What's not so great is she just told me her loan was denied for a new car so she's no longer selling the car. :suicide:

I feel like you'd be very fun to wrench with when copious amounts of alcohol are involved.
Sorry I'm a page late, guys.
But things currently wrong with my car:
-Annoying squeaky noise in my front end suspension on the left wheel over bumps; but not all bumps, just some.
-Oil kinda slowly burns at about 1/4 quart to 3/5 qt per 3k mile oil change.
-Still haven't replaced the air filter with a washable filter because I'm lazy
-Still haven't replaced the PCV I've had for 10 months.
-Still only has a NA V6 which is still fun, but I kinda almost wanna try boost.
Things previously wrong for the new guys (In order of happening):
-Spun crank bearing, blown intake valve, reground head, full tuneup and coil change
---Burning 2 to 3 qts oil after vehicle returned, quickly went away miraculously and I have no idea why
-Bad front rotors
-Bad front-left half-shaft
All-in-all, it's not been a bad year. Though my Ford work truck with 1.75x the miles on it and averaging 6x the miles per year on has only been in the shop aside from oil changes once to repack brake bearings.
You talking about your Charger? That squeak.. I fixed that on mine. Your tie rod ends get HELLA squeaky. I bought every part for my front end and turned out to be the tie rods. took me 20 mins to change.

Only car I own. And yeah, I've never done it before but asked my mechanic on my last oil change to check. He said it was a rubber bushing in the suspension and not to worry. I'm due for an alignment sometime soon anyways, so I might just simply replace them all around. They looked rusted as hell from road salt in PA where the car is from before hand.
