The seats themselves need to be machined, you can't just clean them up with sandpaper to make them smooth again.
I had to sand this part: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Kbqntvm.png[/t] I was mainly wondering how can I tell if the seats are still good and the valve is still good. As long as there's no chips or pitting, it should be good, right?

You just dont want the seal getting torn up so it starts leaking oil into thr cylinder.

Congrats on your Ford Focus ZX3!
My mom has one of those, it's a nice machine
The old non-hot Focus is definitely An Car. It's a sportier An Car than most, but it is still An Car.
I have a CB in my truck....just a little cobra 29 lx peaked and tuned... I don't use it very often but she does come in handy when drivers get on and alert other drivers of a wreck or something. The furthest I got a callback on is 18 miles running some sneakers... Its not very feasible anymore and will be getting my ham licence soon to do more fun radio stuff. 20$Gas Station Antenna [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1031910/Owned%20Vehicles/92%20Chevy%201500/IMAG0956.jpg[/t] Not so cheap radio.... [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1031910/Owned%20Vehicles/92%20Chevy%201500/IMAG1016.jpg[/t] The downside is unless you get a antenna folder your gonna hit it on alot of things..... [editline]15th September 2015[/editline]
Texas here, I rode along on a semi for part of a summer to get some cash and the CB was mostly dead with a few idiots talking shit at each other at one point. But it looks super cool in a car, so I've always wanted to set it up anyway.
Here localy alot of farmers chit chat back and forth wile they mow their fields or w.e. Its kinda fun to listen to them go on and on for hours on end and when they stop its normally because their wife's got on their homebase and said dinner was ready. :v: CB's are still used alot and the most you will hear at a truck stop is "WATCH OUT SWIFT IS BACKING UP EVERYONE HEAD FOR THE HILLS"
Pricey. [t]http://i.imgur.com/sms03Mt.png[/t]
Can you replace a single valve, or do you have to replace them as a set? Same question about rods.
might as well do them all at once
Can you replace a single valve, or do you have to replace them as a set? Same question about rods.
Pushrods or connecting rods? Technically as long as the part is still within spec, you can keep using it. Chrysler used to make bad castings of connecting rods that were a little too small, so they'd coat them in copper to make it a little bit larger. A few people wind up pulling them out and ask why one of their rods is brown. You can replace an individual valve or pushrod, but they're usually cheaper to buy the entire set, or you can buy a rebuild kit which usually comes with new pistons, sometimes new valves (depending on who you buy it from) all the seals, head gaskets, etc... for a lot less than picking out individual parts.
If I was taking my motor apart to replace any worn parts I'd probably just replace all the wearing parts while I was at it.
Lets be real here: if you're that far into the engine, you might as well just replace them all.
I could have just slammed this engine into the car, but I was going to pull the heads off to check if everything is okay. Now I'm at the point.. "I've already got the heads off.. Might as well port and polish" ... And re-ring the pistons... Balance them... Swap the cam... Change the valve seats and valves themselves. Already in there turns into a big thing. :hammered: Like, I'm going to be swapping the torque converter on my car which involves removing the drive shaft... So while I'm at it I might as well change out the tired fuel pump and put new oil in my diff. I'll have the wheels off, so I'll just change the breaks... It never ends.
I had a dream I had a phone call with serj. We talked mopars and it was weird, then he yelled at me to put a slant 6 in my dads race car before slamming the phone. The hell is wrong with me.
We all have Mopar fever and it's glorious. You want that /6 because it's got way more cool factor.
I couldn't believe how common CB still was in the states when I was down there. Love's and Flying J usually had a cabinet full of brand new radios and a whole aisle dedicated to antennas, cables and accessories. I have not see that kind of selection here....well, ever. CB all but died out in Canada apparently before I was born.

I posted it on the last page I think. I can post it again if need be.

Want a little more sensation from the car without getting raunchy. It's scary how many choices there are for the NA. Youtube and forum research time, yay.
What car?
NA Miata

You don't really need a fancy modern one with stuff like digital noise filtering or LCD displays or shit like that. Nothing has really changed in CB technology since the 70's, though boosters are now totally illegal to use. (pfft, try enforcing that one. No cop these days will go and see if you have a booster) Antennas on the other hand a lot of the classic 12' whips are now substituted with the 4' fiberglass sticks but I swear by the old 12' myself.

Its scaring me that you are dreaming about the internet

Refrain to my post about "sneakers". Midnight specials are nice and all, only thing I use on mine is the increased receiving range...
Lined my car up for sale and started looking around for a classic to replace it with. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/5223156446.html Any opinions? Doesn't look bad at all. I'd offer 3500. I'd be gutting the half-ass interior job and starting over, but the car looks solid. Also not a fan of the painted bumpers... but I'm not expecting to not have to fix anything.
it depends what you're wanting out of a game. iRacing: Good physics IIRC and they just came out with a nice dynamic tyre model that reacts to shaded parts of the track and stuff like in real life. Downside is that it's pay monthly and unless something has changed, the rating system is balls. Also it's very restrictive on what you can race If you want organised league racing, people lean towards rFactor and GSCE because it's super light to run, which makes it more accessible, and can be modded easily. A downside would be that you can't always guarantee the quality of community made content. If you aren't super concerned about a game that tries to nail the physics exactly and would rather really nice graphics, Assetto Corsa [and to a lesser extent with physics, project cars] are perfect for this, but aren't completely accurate sims
I prefer Assetto Corsa out of them all though. The physics is pretty good. Just like iRacing, the track heats up. It also has a ton of mods. It has every track you want, pretty much every car you want and car settings are easy to adjust or modify. Easy modding/adjusting via the game files makes for some pretty interesting cars, like a Reliant Robin with a 20b Wankel.

I don't do GT racing or that kind of stuff though. I stick with production cars and fun tracks, like mountain passes and Nordschleife. [editline]15th September 2015[/editline] Broke my merge.

You'd have to talk to a good machine shop to get all that measured and figure out what would be the most cost effective method to address it. Although I'm not actually positive if that's even important in your application.
