How is this acceptable? Why do you pay for insurance against your car when they don't pay out when your car is damaged most of the time? Something is fucked up there
Insurance is required by law so insurance companies don't have to price competitively or fairly and don't have to actually do what you pay them to do since you don't have the option of not paying them. They are after profit margins and can get wider margins by fucking over their customers, arbitrarily totaling a repairable car and parting it out or scrapping it for extra money. I have heard of insurance companies totaling older cars for paint scratches and parting them out for thousands and thousands of dollars.

I'm getting error code p1312 after i changed the broken ignition coil on my 2003 Saab 9-3. Anyone have any clue what the problem could be?

That will sit there for a while. It's not a GTO and it's not a 2 door so you can't pretend it's a GTO. Offer 1500, they go all the time for that much.
Well, you legally must have insurance to drive on roads. They pay for the market value of a car, which is usually less than the actual value you paid due to depreciation, which happens the instant you roll it off the car lot. Used cars get it even worse. Users on the S2KI forums claim that GEICO insurance lowballs them on the value of their S2000s when they get totaled.
I almost wish I total the Slaab, since it's "official" value is more than double what I bought it for. Of course, it's not even close to worth it, since I love this car, and my dad bought it for me.

I also don't want him to stop talking to me for trying to lowball him. :v:
We sold our '70 GTO project for $1100 and a .30-06. :( I still miss wrenching on that asbestos trap.

My friend is bad at burnouts.
does that thing even have the power to do a proper burnout
anything stick can do a burnout just pop the clutch at 6k and slam on the brakes and floor it
does that thing even have the power to do a proper burnout
Na man SVOs are weak as hell tbh.
SO my buick lesabre door has proven stubborn. I've been unable to find a replacement window regulator and it's recently stopped opening. I just picked up a buick park ave door from the junkyard. I'm curious if it's gonna fit well and where I can find wiring diagrams.. thanks in advance [editline]18th September 2015[/editline] Other than 4 bolts it looks like all that I need to do is splice some wire. There's a ton sticking out, idk what for, I assume you only need a few (unlock/lock signal, power). Also, the park ave had climate control in it's doors, will it function in my lesabre?
Dat SVO
I was thinking of this one, 340km its pretty much brand new http://www.kijiji.ca/v-snowmobile/fort-mcmurray/2012-arctic-cat-1100-turbo-sno-pro-limited-162/1098117630?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true No real preference to 4 or 2 stroke, just want to try a turbo sled
My new ride, its a blast to ride :)
Are Sealed Power pistons typically stronger than stock pistons?
Are Sealed Power pistons typically stronger than stock pistons?
Nope. They're just the cheapest piston you can get at an automotive store. Build durability is like stock. [editline]18th September 2015[/editline]
I don't think 1500 is fair, he says I can test drive it and on the highway too so it must be pretty much ready for inspection. I also don't want him to stop talking to me for trying to lowball him. :v:
$1,500 is really fair. Check into that body style for GM/pontiac, join a forum, and find out there's lots of people selling them for about $1,500-$2,000. The only way I'd offer $2,000 is if the paint was nicer. ALL 4 DOORS RUN AND DRIVE PERFECTLY, there's really never one that doesn't. They are always maintained fine. And they're all just as cheap as the next. Also I can guarantee you the owner knows it's worth half what he's asking...
Alright. Well the engine I'm building doesn't have any performance pistons. So, I guess as long as they're the same strength and spec as stock, good enough for me. I may just use the stock pistons as I don't see anything wrong with them other than the rings need replaced.
Got my exhaust fixed at a local shop, they just cut out the flange and welded in a bit of pipe for $67. I can't complain, I thought it was going to be way more. It sounded faster with the shitty exhaust leak, I'll have to slap on some stickers to make up for it.

Just make sure your bores are still in spec, because if not you need to hone the block to the next .030 over and buy that size piston.
How is this acceptable? Why do you pay for insurance against your car when they don't pay out when your car is damaged most of the time? Something is fucked up there
'Merica. It's part of why our insurance is so cheap, they pay out on overpriced bullshit cars which have bullshit loans then shaft the poor fucker with a $6000 car he bought with cash by telling him to take the $3400 and shove it up his ass. Then on top of that to come back and give them more money on his next car. We live in a used car market, you really can't buy a acceptable condition car for below 2000 anymore and in the land of rust everywhere east of the west coast good luck finding good cars under $5000. Our diluted financial organizations which govern "worth" seem to consider a car that's nearly compromised with rust about to crack in half with 250k miles the same as a car that has even 10k miles, hasn't ever seen rain and has been garaged for 10 years. [editline]18th September 2015[/editline] You'd be better off these days just buying liability, installing a good alarm, GPS and a dash cam then buying a gun to solve any of the later issues. Full coverage outside of theft really is just a scam, if you want an example of the quality of work done for insurance paid collisions just remember Cubeman's cursed SRT8 lol.

RockAuto only has rebuild kits from DNJ and ENGINETECH. Not sure of the quality. I know a lot of people use Sealed Power for their aftermarket parts if they can. It would definitely save me a lot if I buy just the kit, but I'm not sure if it's worth considering. Example: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=5966937&cc=1314503&jnid=635&jpid=5 Engine: 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8L

I've bought a headgasket kit from DNJ along with a timing belt and they're pretty decent quality. The intake manifold gaskets were probably the best quality of any available gasket aside from OEM even. However, the dizzy oring leaked and the fuel injector seals didn't even fit. You never skimp though in areas which are commonly known not to be skimped with in your application. For instance Honda OEM headgaskets are usually the only thing you'd ever want to touch so I ended up selling my DNJ headgasket on craigslist for $5.
