I think.... this could not be helping the situation any....
Shes old.. Put her to rest and get a new one. 6 years of running almost 24/7 is quite the life for a gaming rig
Ugh, so we went to pick up the Subaru from the paint shop where they fixed some bumper damage and I noticed that there's some new damage on the drivers side passenger door and on the front fender.
They definitely weren't there since I personally washed the car so it would be ready for paint.
It looks like someone parked next to it and both the driver and rear passenger opened their doors full force.
It's hard to capture in photos but in the front it's a vertical crease about 6 inches long and on the door it's a dent the size of a half dollar right on one of the body lines.
For fucks sake guys, is it that hard to get out of your cars without swinging your doors way out?

The shops owner is gonna install a camera up in front of his shop now and we scheduled an appointment on thanksgiving to fix the dents free of charge since that's my only time we can afford to be one car less.
Such a bummer.
So I saw these things at autozone that you twist into your shock springs to essentially lift your car an inch or two, anybody ever tried these? They're only 10 bucks for a pack of 4 so I might buy 2 packs to lift my lesabre up a bit. Gotta fit them 22's in the wheelwells
Dear god please no.

christ cody, tf is wrong with you man
I'm sorry but anything from a car part store that offers any kind of change to the car cannot be trusted
The only things you should get at autozone are window visors, fluids, and oem replacements, and barely even that. If it has chrome or alters the function of something in your car, stop, drop, and roll out of the store.
Free battery testing though

You should get nothing from Autozone, not even the free testing (unless if they let you see the charts). NEVER!
So is there something wrong with putting them between your shock springs? I just dont wanna spend the money for a proper lift and was wondering if anybody's tried em lol.

If you want more problems with your car in the long run, go for it, I'm sure they're cheap. You're gonna LOVE your ride comfort with low profile 22's and chocked springs.
If you want to do it right, it won't be cheap, and you won't find it at autozone.

Yeh the thing is i'm broke so these seem like a good way to get a short lift. Is there actual danger with spring expanders like these..?

Why do you need a lift... in a buick? Are you doing it just to be funny or are you going to pop curbs at the mall or something?
All you're doing is chocking the springs so they don't compress in one place or two. You're going to stress the shit out of your suspension on bad roads. Some day that shit will give.
he smoked cat-nip... so there's that.

How about you get unbroken before you start modding your car. If you can't afford to do things the right way, just don't do them at all. JUST DON'T DO IT.
NO
AND YES THERE IS A DANGER
The only people I've even seen chock springs are the people who are parting a car out that they don't own and selling the remains to the highest bidder before the legal owner notices.
I mean, guys, you can buy some things from autozone.
There's really no way they can fuck up stuff like hitches and tow bars and light bulbs and shit right?
right guys?
as long as you stay away from isle 6 it's all good
Damnit guys, the only reason you think the spring chocks dont work right is because you have to install them with the correct stick-on fender vents.
amateurs.
The ass end of my dart is up on $20.00 autozone shackles. Lifted the rear end about 4". But that is a classic 70s modification. Screws up the geometry but theyre 3/8" thick plate steel. As far as trying to expand a coiled spring... I dont think id try it.

Ah, but it's not chrome, is it?
All this hate for autoparts store.
When you needed a part yesterday, I'm completely ok buying a midgrade part from them.
Ah, but it's not chrome, is it?
No... theyre just zinc coated... and I painted them black. Im gonna go to autozone and get some stick on chrome trim and put it on there. How could I be so stupid. Ill have this fixed in no time.

that can't possibly be good. But what do I know, I've never found the catalytic converter on my car.
RX7 guys
