Just thinking about your straight 6 makes me wish I had gotten a 280ZX instead. Fuck the VG30E. Dumbest oil filter placement I've ever seen, and I won't even talk about the clutch fan slapped on the water pump pulley. On the bright side the car yells at me when I leave my headlights on Here's my money pit [t]http://i.imgur.com/neT8p0B.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/gxRMYKT.jpg[/t] Don't worry, I am in the process of acquiring factory wheels for her. Doing pads and rotors tonight, hopefully then the wheel stops jerking from side to side under braking and veering madly to the right sometimes. Front left caliper likes to freeze up sometimes though, but we'll go from there.
Prettty clean Chucki m8. z32 calipers are also somewhat of a direct fit, and s13 suspension parts can be interchangeable to. Don't know to what extent or how specific it gets, but there is a z31 around the internet that swapped a tonne of parts. Upgrading the VG30 components to VG33 is doable as well. I'm guessing it's not a turbo from the lack of the front spoiler, so you don't have to worry about transmissions issues. S13 owners love 300ZX standard / n/a transmissions.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/GdtcGCI.png[/t]
Pretty much all states are the same, except for nanny states like California, New York or the few others which have emissions and inspections. I've noticed though that car manufacturers are selling cars with tinted front windshields despite these being illegal, really odd.
So the job will net me $90,000+ per year, but idk if I wanna live in Georgia for 3 years. Although $90k per year can get me a pretty fast car....
georgia has emissions testing so I refuse to live there
What area of GA? If it's near ATL it ain't too bad.
georgia has emissions testing so I refuse to live there
Well, if I take the job, I'm going to sell my 'stang, and my dad will give me his Tundra, so emissions testing isn't a problem.
What area of GA? If it's near ATL it ain't too bad.
I haven't gotten the specifics yet, but from as far as I can tell, it's going to be at the Vogtle Nuclear Plant in Waynesboro, so I would most likely get a place in Augusta.
m8, you're gonna go from 14/hr to at the minimum, 45/hr and you might not take it because you have to move??
My whole life is centered around Louisiana. All of my family, friends, camps, etc. It's tough to decide to move away from a place you love, even for 3 years.
georgia has emissions testing so I refuse to live there
So does Maryland, but that's the least of the dumb laws we have here. $13 every two years for emissions, so I can't complain about it.
no emissions, no vehicle inspections, improper equipment is a secondary offense I love mississippi so much

Do you mean the hood scoop? Those were only 84 and 85. 84 because aircooled turbo and left over for 85. Mine is an 86. It has the strong 71C transmission so it could sport a turbo no problem. Another way to spot turbos is black window trim. No plans fo anything but a stock restoration. Basically every mechanical piece on the car is ruined.
Living in a place with clean air is awful right
Living in a place with clean air is awful right
the air quality around here has never bothered me after riding a 2 stroke motorcycle for a couple years I gained an incredible tolerance for bad air
Living in a place with clean air is awful right
Cars aren't the sole source of smog and shit. It's mostly industry and other pollutants.
Not solely of course, but emissions reduction has helped a lot.
I'm glad we have MOT tests it really stops people driving around in completely utterly unsafe pieces of shit
Two steps forward, one stupid step backwards. Broke my ABS sensor. Fixed it with electrical tape for the time being. I refuse to pay $50 for such a simple part

I thought vg30de's we're quite durable but it's a 30 year old car now idk. I have yet to wrench my Z, I hope it doesn't crap out too soon.
My dad's been driving my truck to work because his Honda is being worked on.. He came home today and was like, wanna go for a ride? I was like "Sure.." He slams on the gas and it sounds like a freaking race car. Lol. I got under the truck, the entire muffler is gone.. There's a 2ft section of exhaust and muffler missing. Fell off somewhere...
Finally got one, eh? You were warned about that V6 :v:
What was so awful about them? [editline]4th August 2015[/editline] Genuinely curious, not trying to be a dick
If its mk4 supra related, it may as well be made of gold
I could have bought a very cheap MkIV Supra a few months back, but after looking into what it would take to restore. (It was someone's track car and they'd pretty much gutted the interior, plus added some really ugly bumpers), I quickly decided against it. So instead I'm continuing to save for a RX-7 FD, because parts for those are only made of silver. :v: Also I keep passing this place, and every time I do there's another Miata in the parking lot. I don't know what's going on. Today the row behind it was also completely full of miatas.
Half off Miata dent repairs?
86 turbos still came with the rubber front strip on the bottom lips with every Zenki year, 86 turbos got rid of the black stripe on the fascia, and colored said rubber lip the same as the body color. Not sure what you mean when you say rubber front strip though. VG30DE is the dual overhead cam version of my motor, the VG30E. The DOHC motor came in the Z32s. It's a durable motor but my car has been very neglected. Already had the water pump seize so I've replaced that, timing belt, tensioner, tensioner stud, radiator, removed the clutch fan, and installed electric fans as well as a bunch of other tiny stuff. [editline]4th August 2015[/editline]
That's a sexy car there. Something about the Z's, old and new I love them. That's also funny, I had the same issue with my ZX's left caliper :v
I know, right? I can't wait for it to get the factory 86 wheels. The paint is still absolutely ruined but they'll help with the look of the car a lot. And wow, that's weird [editline]4th August 2015[/editline]
What was so awful about them? [editline]4th August 2015[/editline] Genuinely curious, not trying to be a dick
The oil filter is in a really shitty place, everything in general is a PITA to get to. Removing the clutch fan helps accessing the front of the motor a LOT, but it's still pretty packed in there. Not looking forward to valve cover gaskets or replacing the oil pressure sending unit.

Also I need that charger PPV. For reasons.
Is anyone friends with Bradley on FB? I removed him when all this depressing shit was being posted
