Sounds like the PA330. http://www.polkaudio.com/pa3302/d/1163 I dunno, I had a couple die on me and have noise issues and shyed away from them after that. Diamond used to be the bomb, not sure if they're still as good, haven't used a new set in a while. Infinity's always been a division of Harman Kardon, though. JBL, infinity, and Harman are all from the same fatherland. If you want to try something off the beaten trail you could try DC audio or SoundQubed. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_88156_DC-Audio-Level-3-15D2-M2LV315D2.html http://www.soundqubed.com/ I personally love the look of an all black woofer with classic dust cap and a basic company design on it. Not for everyone, though. The soundqubed stuff is suuuuper legit for a good price. Even the HDS2's for $105 or so. Love em. Memphis Mojos, always good choices; https://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/subwoofers/mojo5-subwoofers/ American Bass is another great choice; http://www.americanbassusa.com/ However they're not flashy looking at all, which may or may not work for the build. Classic Rickmore Fuzzball, too. P3. Yes http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_36000_Rockford-Fosgate-Punch-P3D4-15-Newest-Model.html These are 12s... but sure would make a good oldschool system; http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS-W3002D2-Champion-Subwoofer-Watts/dp/B001P6ZHLK/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1443583704&sr=1-2-catcorr&keywords=pioneer+champion+15
I'll second the DC or soundqubed suggestion I had 2 HDC3 15's from when soundqubed was still AQ audio running off 2 XS power D3400's hooked to a DC audio 3.5k amp hell of a setup the HDC's I know for a fact could of taken more power even though they're "rated" for 1500RMS
Read carefully. That price is for the subwoofer box. I used to hate that in circuit city when they were around "wow $150 for a box and two subs?" Nope $150 for the box. They used to display all their audio in its own enclosures. If it does come with the woofers, those are incredibly cheap woofers. I havent seen a jackhammer or mtx in several years. I figured it didnt exist anymore. [editline]30th September 2015[/editline] Is this cause it spent most of its life as a racecar and now your trying to put it on the street after not being registered forever?
I figured it was more because he was more technically importing it and registering it for road use being that vehicle import taxes were probably not paid on it when it was actually imported.
Wrong about that one, Serj. It's pretty common to find MTX, Prime Series Fosgates, and other budget subs with enclosures for that price.
Interesting. I remember when mtx woofers werw still $70 a piece. That would make the box only cost $10 at that price. Thats a good deal then.
So I've been looking at mountune for the newest model fiesta ST, and I know the turbos by default are pretty quiet, do you think having a high flow air filter in the mountune would make it louder? And if not do you think there is any way? I love the sound of turbos so much especially when they have blow off valves attached to them.
How about you read carefully:
I am not paid to read, only paid to make assumptions.
Interesting. I remember when mtx woofers werw still $70 a piece. That would make the box only cost $10 at that price. I do gotta admit, that Dual LED box that he's talking about.. that thing was the bomb for what it cost. I hate hate hate Dual products, but damn if that thing didn't beat hard. And it was hard to blow up, too. That's probably the best thing they ever built.
I still see those dual led enclosures all the time. for being cheap they sure did make them interesting looking. I remember the first ever aftermarket head unit I had that I thought was interesting was a Dual. My mom bought it for me for my birthday, knew nothing about it and installed it. It was pretty hard to sue but the display was cool. The face pushed forward and down, and then an LCD screen popped up behind it that displayed all the song info and stuff. Probably a $100 head unit, but it sure was fun to watch when you turned it on. That was in... maybe... 2005? Before that I had a blaupunkt. That was a nice CD player at the time. I still have the blaupunkt too... 168 Watts with "xbass" and a "date installed" sticker on the top. Still works.
I picked up one of those "200 watt" MTX 12" sub/box/amp packs for $189 on sale at Futureshop a while back. It was a pretty good combo, I'm no audiophile but it hits hard enough for me and my Cavalier. My only complaint is that if I *do* end up getting a Fiesta, it will either not fit or take up like, 75% of the trunk. In that case, I want to try using one of those tiny monoblock amps and custom build a box to fit under the floor of the trunk.

That was my first aftermarket radio, too. Wormgear came off the shaft for moving the face then it wouldn't make music anymore after I tried fixing it. Bout 10 years ago, now, too. Sure looked sweet, though. Lol!

I think the black one played mp3s and the silver just played cd's. i had the just CD one with a 3.5mm on the front that I plugged my radioshack mp3 player into...
Here's a pic in my first car ('01 Alero). No dash kit, a piece of fucking velvet held in with ducttape to cover the hole. Ridiculous lol. It was in my 1999 GMC Jimmy... I painted all the trim inside red as well. Also about the exterior... yeah I was that kid. I also had a sharks mouth painted on the side after I took the rocker panels off of the car. I remember it well, as I would leave about 5 dark t shirts in the car and a blanket. I'd tuck the shirts into the trim above the windows, put a jacket over the front two seats, and then stuff the blanket into the rear window upper trim, and that was for when I picked up a girl and we just. You know. Hung out. I also remember when it was not painted black... and I literally shopped at autozone aisle 6 as indicated by the license plate and plate frame... The horns cost me $200, and the set I had before that was white. Someone stole them off the hood- took the time to unbolt them too, then I told the guy who sold them to me and he gave me that black pair for free. I chained and locked them to the hood after that - had chains draped all over with locks - still got stolen. I dunno. I was a teenager who wished they were a Texan or something. In 2006 When I got my Cr-v, and became more of an adult, I had this gem, and I also had this beautiful sirius XM radio in the pocket below... custom wired into there. And I had a jackhammer... with a bestbuy amp. My first ever crappy amp install after that I routed everything down into the carpet and cleaned it up. And some mad tyte JDM thruster taillights, whole car was Viper GTS blue. Bet you've never seen a Cr-v with rockets before... Ok story time over. 10 years ago. Damn.
Got my Jensen VX7020 Navi/stereo today. Once I get my wiring and amp, I can get it all installed. Still undecided on subs though.
Jesus christ that jimmy
Jesus christ that jimmy
So much Best Buy crap
Jesus christ that jimmy
I know right? Who would do that. [editline]1st October 2015[/editline]
So much Best Buy crap
I practically owned stock in Best buy when I had my first job. Spent a lot of money there. In fact I remember purchasing my first flat panel TV there... a 26" Insignia... for $545.00 with a built in DVD player. I still have it too. Also you kinda have to admit, I'm like the coolest most professional and good looking dude any of you know. So I mean... I've come a long way.
Is copper anti-seize the right stuff to use with exhaust bolts?
Is copper anti-seize the right stuff to use with exhaust bolts?
I've used it on all my turbo components. I don't really know if it's good till I try and pull it apart ten years from now really.
Is copper anti-seize the right stuff to use with exhaust bolts?
yeah copper works, but dont be shocked if you still need to torch exhaust bolts in a few years before removal
Alright I'm nervous for tomorrow as I'll see if the bolts connecting the cat and midpipe want to come off or not. I had my cat replaced last year but it was cut out and the new one was welded in between the old flanges, so I don't know if the shop actually unbolted it. Hoping to not encounter frozen ass bolts.
While we are on the topic of car audio, I have been tasked with designing the guts of a jukebox to go in the bus that may or may not also house the stereo. Do I... A. get a raspberry pi, 128gb flash drive, and touchscreen, using some pretty version of osmc or something. run the audio out to the stereo, and change the input on the stereo when you want to use it. B. Get an android tablet to run just a music player and spotify, and run the audio out to the stereo as per option A. Possibly install a wireless hub in the bus to connect phone to in order to remote control spotify on tablet. C. Install a double din touchscreen stereo in the jukebox, and either just use that, or run an audio out from it to a stereo at the front of the bus. FEED ME YOUR IDEAS
C sounds like the simplest, most robust option.
My first car had a weird box DIN setup (you can see it next to the center air vent), so nothing fit. Had to stick a tray under the dash to fit anything. Sorry for the pic size, had to go find my old Cardomain page to get a pic...
Here's a question for you guys.. I'm trying to whip up some new vinyl logos for the car scene around here.. trying to make a bit of a brand for the stuff I do. Lord knows I work on enough DSMs and Japanese cars. I'm planning on "Wisco DSM Works" and "Sakura Works".. but I don't know if 'Works' is best spelled with an "e" or an "o". I like "Werks", for some reason.. but I feel like it might be too 'edgy' or some nonsense. Opinions? works is japanese, werks is euro
werks always reminds me of twerk
werks always reminds me of twerk
Exact same thing my rommate said, lmao. That may tell me something. Stiveno's the resident JDM wheel guy, too. Good input, appreciate it.
My MK5. 1.9 TDi (105) mapped to 140. Full Edition 30 Kit, sitting on 18" BBS CH Replicas. Need to fix the passenger wing as someone decided to hit me. Also, the seal around my alarm siren failed so it started going mental once water got inside, very annoying.
