Get a GT350R you nerd
Get a Chevy SS
Now why whould he do that... The only good SS is from the early 90's the rest of them have been basterdized. Anywho gonna go look at a vehicle later today... I want me a Chevy 6.5 tuuuurdo diiiezal
It took months to get started, but I finally installed the header!
Clutch or whoever is good at audio, I need some recommendations to improve the sound system in my dodge. Its got some different 6x9s in the front but they break up under heavy base/loud sounds (namely want to listen to korn and pantera full blast). The back has 4 5" speakers, 3 are 2001 factory alpines which sound pretty decent. Its got a kenwood or alpine deck too, I forgot. Im thinking either a sub or amp and new 6x9s?
Any tips, does and dont's etc on megasquirt? Both for fuel injection and for the ignition. Still deciding with manual dist/cap and carbs or MEGASQUIRT. pros/cons?
Cheap 6x9s and cheap speakers in general tend to do that. Do you have crossovers for the system or is just straight to each channel? I usually relieve the speakers of their bass duty by just installing an amp and sub. You should have enough room under the rear bench if you have one to do it. There's no electrical gremlins that can knock them out of order. Also you get way way better mileage out of EFI than a carb.
Twin 32/36 webers would work awesome.
Well, I was thinking twin 45's since I've already rebuilt the engine, head etc etc. But I'm afraid the camshaft might still be a bit to "friendly" with such a setup. Might have to check with my little gnome about that. Also, Is it really such a pain in the ass to calibrate twin carbs or is that just a myth? Then you have to make sure the linkages pull the same and all that. But why stop at just a 2bbl, why not strap a turbo to the weber? I used to run a 38/38 and that's an awesome carburetor. Now I run a Holley 350 though.
Well, I personally don't like turbos "except for the 242 turbo with B21 or the buick v6's turbos" And I'm trying to stick to a rally recipe but at the same time I want efficient power. The choice, what it feels like in my head is, Carb or EFI I'm trying to make up my mind with my own +/- list but I don't know I hate electrics just as much as I hate to tune carbs. still, complete pack with intake, carbs, fuelpump, FPR, hoses, filters etc will land me about 1050 US the megasquirt I could find already wired and ready for a B230F for about half the price. My question is not about the money, but about the broad smile it will give my face when I hear my engine go pass the 6200 rpm mark and I just feel the love between mechanics, force, fuel and air and myself. I guess, carbs are more fun or? [editline]6th October 2015[/editline] P.S Also, I really love your dodge (OH SHI) man!

Moved to Augusta Georgia 3 weeks ago. After 2 urine tests and 3 DEEP background checks, I've got my badge and everything. So I'm making a FUCKTON of money. Just got a liquid cooled GTX 980ti and 2 new monitors. I'm now looking at a new vehicle. I'm trying to decide between a new Mustang GT, a new F-150 Eco-boost, or a new F-250 power stroke.
Get a Shelby Cobra or NSX. Those are pretty unique.
I'm gonna pull the engine out of the Beetle to pretty much rebuild it and restore it a bit and change the intake with carbs, and exhaust. Would anyone care for a video or something of the first ever startup attempt after I finish? I'm gonna pull the engine when I put it away for the winter so I have the engine by itself to tinker with and the body in winter storage. Shouldn't be too many more weeks left.
Well it obviously needs more suspension. But I know subbies sometimes have very nice limited slip diffs. Audi on the other hand did not...Unless you had her in 4th gear revvin out to 5k rpms and only doing 20mph ground speed but 110mph indicated...Then her diffs would do somthing.
Needs more driver first. Even before upgrading my suspension, I knew how to get around understeer. Once you learn to drive the car, it is time for upgrades.

Make sure wile you are there to add a REAL oil filter / oil pump combo.

I guess, but it's more of an "almost production concept", because Ford was actually going to produce that fucker. I wonder how the car world would have turned out had it made it to the streets. Well, this particular instance anyway.

If you're looking to keep it within a budget, I'd roll a 4ch amp with 2 channels driving the front 2 speakers, and the other 2 bridged driving a nice underseat submoofer. If the headunit works and you like it, keep it. If not there's great ones to be had in the $100-$150 range that do everything anyone seems to want. Pioneer 3700 and 6700 are two of my favorites these days. Got my stereo installed today! Been a busy weekend for me...
holy huge UI
The touch screen on it is pretty finicky at times, so I'm honestly glad it's not smaller buttons that I have to aim for. Especially if I'm making a quick menu change at a stop light or something. The GPS works surprisingly well, my only complaint is that the ETA on screen doesn't seem to care what your actual speed is, just what the time should be given the speed limits on the road (which makes it pretty wrong in rush hour traffic).
Looks OEM as fuck
That's cuz it's a vehicle specific unit! Some are really good, like Rosen units; http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_69535_Car-Show-CS-MUST10-US.html And some are really.. Chinese. At least I can smile reading the instructions while I try to work it. "Thank you for making purchase of happy time GPS for making vehicle driving! looking into this impreza http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/5212102924.html its fucked up a bit but the miles are ok, clean title and stuff. I ain't worried about looks, so if it runs good, and mechanically ok, I think it'd be an alright trade. And if he can include $300 that would be great.

Did you not see all the axles need to be replaced? I feel like mechanically that may mean something bad... Wasn't the idea to pay bills or something?
God damn winter is coming [t]https://scontent-vie1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/t31.0-8/12120194_10153680870627002_1835428856284084847_o.jpg[/t] [t]https://scontent-vie1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xta1/t31.0-8/12087752_10153680870582002_4240674326399528924_o.jpg[/t] I have inspection on 2.11.2015 and still have to change at least the exhaust. Hopefully nothing much else, already changed handbrake cables and rear pads/rotors which were in very nice condition
Finally got around to taking the negative camber off my Civic. When I had taken the tires off I realized two things: 1) My ABS light was on because whoever was messing around down their last had completely snipped the ABS wire, so I crimped it together to get the light off. 2) The suspension was completely cut (I guess to make it lower to the ground) and I'm assuming that's why the car is so bouncy. I don't know a lot about cars, but that would be my educated guess. Probably going to save up for the stock suspension, found it online for $300 for all four suspensions fully loaded. Now I just need to get the new O2 sensor, and get some subs and my car will be in better shape.
