Much more complicated to produce than an I4 without much benefit; you need more material, two separate cylinder heads, and so on.
There are few applications where the reduced longitudinal length on a V4 is of much benefit, because even a big I4 engine can fit fine in just about any engine bay.
In comparison, the size savings made from making an inline 6 or 8 into a V- configuration are pretty hefty. You'll seriously struggle to fit an I8 into a transverse configuration, but a V8 is perfectly fine if a bit cramped.

Cramped...? I don't think that expresses how packed as shit the engine bay of a Northstar is.

Is that the god damn starter?

Space reduction, bro.
Going across state lines tomorrow to go look at a 2004 Volvo V70 2.5T tomorrow. Most of the big shit (PCV system, Timing Belt system) has been fixed, and the owner is a mechanic to boot.
If I'm lucky, then by this time tonight it'll be mine.
But fuck if out-of-state title transfers aren't confusing.
Is that the god damn starter?
Yes, but that's not why Northstars are complete junk
Ordered a used 4.3 Diff Swap Kit for the Miata to replace the possibly failing diff that is in there now. Also got a OEM Replacement clutch from Exedy. Time to order all the miscellaneous parts that are recommended to be changed while you have the transmission out. Cars are just $$$ :frown:

My boss just blew out the reverse gear in his V70 :v:
That thing looks so rad, I'd competely redo the interior and nothing more, maybe change the grille to a 72, but it looks roadkill-esc
You know thats more than double what's it's worth Sally. It's a $1500 car at best engine or otherwise. I'm also not fond of Dart Sports. The only thing I'd do with it is change it into a Hang10. I love those.

sssshhhhh.
Keep quiet.
That's how my last car died.
Well, the whole tranny went, but still....
So finally went to Galpin Ford to get some professionals to check why my car kept eating batteries, which I should have done in the first place. The relay for the air conditioner compressor had failed open causing the compressor to run 24/7, or at least as long as the battery held charge. It also explained why my air conditioner kept feeling progressively warmer. It would keep overcharging the system and blowing Freon out the overpressure valve. It's all fixed now so I can finally set the clock and radio presets again.
Was a "V4" actually a thing?
Where i work we have a old Wisconsin V4 its air cooled and runs on propane.

Yeah, I'd say $2700 up here?
Fuck, I had a duster with the fold down rear seat, I didnt even think of you when I scrapped it. I shoulda pulled it out and maybe you could've make it work in your 68?
Either free vcds or a slightly modified version of full bore vcds.
I alwase ran the free vcds and looked up the dtc codes manually.
I never really ran into any issues except com issues and stuff. Their is a great write up on vw vortex for ironing out issues.
Thanks, I had another look and found a very useful thread on uk-mkivs.net, so will give it a try later.
So as I'm waiting for Subaru money I still drive Subaru and am looking at cars online. I've found a 2000 Merc C-class with a supercharger and everything in my price range which looks insanely nice. Also a bunch of Foresters.
Got a new leak in my Golf. Not sure where it is tho.
Im suspecting a gromet underneath the carpet... hmm
This might interest someone. Turkey is going to make a car based on 9-3.

Saab was sold to a bunch of chinese to build chinese cars for china under the Saab name since foreign brands are a luxury item. They already went bankrupt already and they're just gonna make cheap shit knockoff cars.

They got out of bankruptcy and it's still in Sweden one part. The factory and the office is still the same in Sweden and they'll keep making cars but focus more on design and such.
Also they don't use the SAAB name, SAAB AB decided to stop that.
9-5 design however was sold from GM to some weird Chinese company.
They're alive again will most likely grow. Geeley owns Volvo Cars and it didn't get shittier.
Not everything in China is shit, Just look at huawei

I don't have anything against China at all really, after all most of a brand new car regardless of make is going to be made there anyways. I'm against poor quality products at a inflated price all polished up in an attempt to make it appear equal to other products at it's price point.
Everything post GM takeover of Saab is GM platform based anyways, and they're heavily involved with the chinese.

Clogged sunroof drains can magicly make water go anywhere.
Check that first... Then check the gas tank access hole under the rear seat..

Fold down rear would be nice. But dont worry about it. Woulda cost you a buttton of money to get it to c.a.
I measured beforehand and thought that i could fit a bunch or 8 foot long trim in my crown vic, but i forgot to account for getting it in through the back door, so now im waiting in the parking lot waiting for my dad to bring my old explorer and im trying to hide from the immenent shame i have brought on myself by trying to use a car as a truck and failing.

If the blanket blocks enough air to get it to operating temp, it'll be replaced.
By what? Not sure. Was thinking a piece of sheet metal I could bolt on and off, or if I can find one of those poly signs in the right size, i'd have one printed out and use that as a cover.
Brush guard is also new since last update.
Just bought $750 in shocks, rlcas and bumpstops for my Integra. Nothing but the best damn off the shelf shocks money can buy without ending up with poorly calibrated Koni Yellows. :v:

If the rear end still pops after this, I'm going to seriously kill something. Hopefully I'll actually enjoy driving my Integra again. After this, the last pieces in the suspension with over 15k miles on them will be rear wheel bearings, rear toe adjusters and the front LCAs.

The Turks are going to make 95% of the cars themselves. Saab has gone bankrupt, but were bought up and are now moving forward again. Besides, the "9-3" is a Cadillac, based on a 9-3. So it'll be a car based on a car based on a car, based on a GM platform.
Might have to put some cardboard over my grille this winter. My new radiator is doing its job a bit too well.
Today it was like 45 outside, but at highway speed my engine was running 20-30 degrees colder than normal operating temp. As soon as I got off the highway it went back to normal. Have a powerful fan too, so I dont know. Need to retain some heat before it gets 40-60 degrees colder out in the winter.

16 year old kid I know had a 2009 (?) S5 that he got as a hand-me-down from his grandparent. He totaled it driving too fast in the rain, spun out, went into a ditch, bent the frame.
Insurance check was more than the car could have realistically sold for.
Today I saw him driving around in a 2014 S4 with 12,000 miles on the odo he just got.
