There's one in Baghdad. I think it might be a trap....
Wow, there are some right near my house that I walk past everyday. I will have to take a look see.
Quite a few near me, for a crappy town in the middle of no-where xD
Would a Car GPS system work?

I think any GPS would, basically you can just print the map from google earth or something, and on the cache page there are usually instructions on what should you do.
The one thing I remember about starting geocaching is when I was in a tree and found one by accident. That sparked me to find it. And guess where the first geocache I got coordinates for was?
In that tree.
Wow, there's one in the duck pond in my Village.
My history teacher told me about this once. It sounds really fun.
He talked about how some people actually don't even use GPS, and just mark locations on a map.
I'm fortunate that my parents got a GPS they don't use, I'm gonna go find some caches in the next week.
Might be going tomorrow, there's 5(!) on a walk around a small lake, all I need to do is draw a rough outline of the lake, as I know it well and mark on the points, them I'm set!
I don't have a GPS, but that just adds to the challenge. there's at least 5 that I can easily walk to, so maybe it'll be something to do on a nice day
Can't believe this site has existed for so long & I've never noticed

Yeah, I have a GPS but it's for a car, so I don't think it would work too well
I did this about 5 years ago for my friends birthday. If I recall, it was a bunch of war pictures and 9mm shells in an ammo container.
and then I took a dump in the forest, it looked like mustard.

Also, if you have an Android or iPod Touch/iPhone there's an app for that.
Best one I ever did took me on some cult's private property and into a cave. We found a five foot long icicle and a swarm of big spiders. scared me shitless.
My friend won't stop bragging about finding an A.P.E. cache. Nobody believes him. :v:
I made a profile. Gonna try to go hunting either with my girlfriend or gonna try to talk a friend into it, or maybe take my niece hunting.

Good luck!
And getting the App on the iPod touch is useless kind of, as you don't have 3G!
Just FYI to all, car GPSs usually don't work since they don't take Latitude-Longitude coordinates.
Adding Iphone app info to the OP.

Ohh that sucks, I guess I'll have to use a map xD
Over 9000 caches in the Netherlands, I did NOT expect that.

I don't have a GPS-enabled device, though...

They are literally EVERYWHERE. I found 14 around my hotel in Greece when I went.
I've done this before and it was awesome, i even found $20!
This doesn't sound fun to do alone. I could use my 5800 for GPS.
Just found out that there's one in a Tesco car park that I walk past every day on the way to/from school, awesome.
Sweet, theres one at the plane crash memorial a few miles from my house. Too bad my quad is blocked into the back of my garage. If I remember about it when I can get my quad out, I will bring my vid cam and record the discovery, as well as the remains of the plane crash.
Yay, there's one really close to my bus stop, and one in my school! Totally gonna go check 'em out! This seems really fun and interesting.
This looks pretty fun! Kind of like finding shit in a game like GTA, except all over the world. Might try to get into this - there's quite a few around my town. Including one that I can see from my window! (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=ec2af3b8-2323-4f13-974c-cf2712ae37c9)
Good thing I bumped this thread I guess
Saving up for a GPS device now, sounds fun.
I think we inherited one of those yellow garmin ones, I'll try to find it some time, may also put a few near fields/footpaths around my house.
Just went out and found one now in Darlington - Awesome.
GPS IS kinda optional if you live in the area it is in.
I live in a small town near the Wisconsin border and there are quite a few hidden near me, including one near the street I live on. I have to go find these now. :v:
