FAKKKK. I went hiking past 17 geocaches today....why didn't I see this thread sooner...
dalndox and I wanted to do a little something as a chain of caches, lead to the next with a riddle. The end result would be something like a $20 gift card since we're poor, but it'd be worth it for people who want the extra adventure in our otherwise bland area. The description once we put up the starting cache would include that it's meant to be a challenge and will have a prize for first-find.

One of the best ones I did was like this, there were 7 small caches that contained the details for the big 8th one. Took two or three weekends to find but it was quite fun.
I just went to find one a couple of miles up the road from my house. I cycled against the wind all the way there, mostly uphill
I thought it was this one at first, but it wasn't. Lucky too because I wasn't gonna go in there.

I looked around a couple of big trees, but then I saw this large rock. Convienient too because I sat on it while I signed the log.

I didn't take anything from it, there were just a couple of keyrings and shit, so I just popped the train ticket in and hid it behind the leaves again before cycling back home.
I have to try this.

This is awesome :buddy: Too bad there are only around 400 gecaches in my country.
You've inspired me to get off my ass and do something today. Perhaps I'll actually find something :P
Wow, this is cool. I've got LOADS around me. One is about 5 minutes walk away.
Hmm, I will attempt this geocaching.
I just did a really cool one. After finding it several times, me and my mother went back to a geocache to try again. It was called 'Out on a Limb'
What the owner had done was cut off part a branch, hollow out the center of it and the other part of the branch, put a metal pole in the hole, and the geocache in the remaining spot.

I put a geocache near me, after 2 days it was stolen :(
I put a geocache near me, after 2 days it was stolen :(
Really? Did you hide it good enough?
Theres loads in the UK ive found about 10 now
There are over 1000 in my local area, the closest being a 2 minute walk to a tree.
I'm just too lazy, though. :saddowns:
There isn't a lot in my area. Only one near my house. Might go on a trip later tomorrow
My brother started getting into this last year, but I didn't pay too much attention to it. It seems interesting, I think I'll go try it tomorrow.
Me and Monkeytracks found 5 the other day.
Me and Monkeytracks found 5 the other day.
Yeah. We were awesome, But my lags hurt after walking around for around 6-8 hrs.
This is awesome!
I've been looking for something adventurous to do
If i did this, and found an ammo can cache, i'd probably keep it.
Can the Nokia E63 function as a GPS?
[editline]05:51AM[/editline]
heh. I should go put one in a really remote location and stash $100 in it.
Theres a local duckpond in my area which dries out periodically, i should do this, hide the cache on the pond's island.
I need to find some in Trenton, NJ. I can't search right.
Heading further afield this weekend. Anyone done the Hubbards Hills caches in Louth, lincolnshire?
I'm gonna go Geocaching when I get my Iphone. I'll also try to be creative in making my own caches.
This is pretty cool, I've definitely got to try to find one of these sometime. They are just about in every direction where I live(apparently one is in the bathroom of a gas station, and another in a Walgreens). I literally pass 50 of these things on the way to school every day!
When i was walking home from work i took the woodwalk and found one sneakly hidden
There's tons in Richmond park near me, used to this with my family when I was 10-11.
I once took a shit in one thinking it was a camping toilet, there was toilet paper in it
By the way I was like 9
:frog:
I found my first one today. It was an ammo box with a bunch of children's toys and a logbook. Pretty cool, and I think I'm going to go out tonight too looking for another one.
Spring break is next week, and my first one is in my childhood park, back in my home town. I'm excited for nostalga reasons.
