Wow, after looking at this thread I decided to see if there were any caches around my area, It turns out theres one I walk past every day as well as another 4-5 in under a mile from where I live
Damn I need to try this, it looks like a bunch of fun.
Dear Geocachers,
Please stop ruining my hiking trails by overturning rocks and ruining my trails. The god damned trails don't keep themselves. Also, paths in reserves / parks are there for a reason, you rustling around in the brush and destroying all the damn bushes by rummaging through them is not good for the park. Thank you.
Signed,
The Hikers.

Dear Mr. The Hikers,
Geocachers are encouraged to leave things as-is in nature, hiding caches well but not in ridiculous spaces such as under rocks and in points only accessible by wading through prickly bushes. This does not mean that, A: some cache hiders will not be sadistic in their location decisions, and B: some hunters will not understand that an often visited cache will not be in an untouched area where there are no foreseeable paths.
Despite idiots, the continued efforts of the CITO program are helping to improve the overall quality of said trails by actively picking up trash, which otherwise tends to be handled by depressed community service workers clad in orange.
We hope you understand our efforts and will correct the wrongs of those who give us a bad name, whether it be by means of explaining in simple words, or kicking them in the shin.
Signed,
Geocachers~
Can't believe I'm only hearing about this now. Going to arrange a hunt with some friends.
I think I'm gonna buy a GPS soon and do this with some friends. I checked the geocaching website and found that there are a lot in my town.
this bump made me happy.
reminded me it's actually summer and I won't be hindered by bitter cold, rather druggies hiding in trees.
RESURRECTING. this is a pretty cool thing to do.
A ton of people I know do it, it seems like it would get boring after a few times.
dude what would happen if u took a dump in a geocache?
I have a Geocache that I maintain on the coast of NC. If anyone wants to find it, I'll post the link.

It wouldn't be the first time.
What would happen is what they call "Cache Maintenence".
Usually it takes just cleaning out junk, and putting a new log book in,
but this would take it to a whole new level, especially if it's not found for a long time.
I would hate to be the next to find it.
There's four within a mile radius of me
AND THEY'RE ALL UP FUCKING TOWERS
This is awesome, i'm using google earth for the coordinates. i'm going to find one tomorrow, can't believe it's so close!
EDIT:
Seems like google earth doesn't find all the coordinates, is there a program for this?
EDIT AGAIN:
nevermind, seems like there was a - between the coordinates, got it now.
Seems like this thread is dying, WE CAN'T LET THIS HAPPEN!
Might check out a cache on the beach here tomorrow.
GO SUPER FUCK BUMP!!!!!!!
Went out today with two friends and found two caches pretty close to each other. Was good fun, even though we managed to take the longest route back home...
Old but Gold
found this bitchin frog cache near my house a few months back.

I've hidden 5 caches, they've been found a few times. They went up around 2 weeks ago.
Interesting, there are dozens of caches in my town, even when it's not a particularly big town. One is just 100m from our house! I'll go check it out tomorrow.
I am a giant asshole and go geobombing with friends, and just piss in buckets.
If this has happen'd to you I am dearly sorry, but it's way more fun
I found a vibrator?!?
I would love to put some of my written work, like my stories and poems and Haikus, in a box like this. But if some random fuckheads steal it I wouldn't be best pleased.
I don't understand the purpose of this. People could easily steal it and looking for shit just to hide it again is pretty dumb.

you have to look hard for them and i dont think people would make an effort to fuck something up
There's a location five freaking feet from where my band practices, gonna go check it out tomorrow morning :D
