Halo 3's ending fucking owned too. I'm so excited for the new ones. Just hoping they don't fuck them up.
I fear that Halo may have gone the way of COD and turned into a money making franchise, and it started with CEA.
I fear that Halo may have gone the way of COD and turned into a money making franchise, and it started with CEA.
halo will always be more original than CoD
I fear that Halo may have gone the way of COD and turned into a money making franchise, and it started with CEA.
You're talking about a series that was left at a HUGE cliffhanger and has spawned several very in depth books about it's universe to a series that literally has no continue story.
Such a shame that the PC version was the shittiest console port ever
Such a shame that the PC version was the shittiest console port ever
Haha, that is a funny one, truely.... I've seen PC ports that didn't even get mouse support, Halo 1 was a fantastic port, that almost felt native, halo 2 worked quite well, the biggest problems being bad optimisation, Vista only, and Pay-for Multiplayer((which they later rectified, but by then it was too late)) Other than those few nigglign issues, both games were fairly good ports....
It's funny because now everyone is nostalgic about Halo, but a few years ago on FP everyone bitched about Halo like they do Call of Duty now. Regardless, the Halo series is truly a great game series, and it brings a tear to my eyes. I remember playing the demo for the first one on PC and playing through that island assault. Such an awesome experience. Halo 2 was balls to the walls awesome. It was ridiculous the amount of time I spent playing split-screen or fucking around with all the secrets in the campaign. Halo 3 was more or less forgotten by me. Now, that's not to say I didn't enjoy it, but I played it less than the other two. I think by then I had already moved on. ODST and Reach went completely by me (due to me not owning a 360 at that point).
As amazing as Halo 1 and Halo 2 were, somehow I found Halo 3 best. Now it was sub par on many levels I'm sure someone would argue, however it's probably the couch friendliest game ever. I've never had as much fun as playing split-screen with two, three, four friends on matchmaking, co-op and forge. It was amazing. It is my all time favorite game because of the experience I had with it.

Its awesome.
I think when the Elites and the Brutes were fighting it out. It was just the instrumental, though.
The battle in the mausoleum.
I used to think Halo was really shitty because they charge for map packs and stuff but COD has shown me how bad things can actually get, at least Bungie put effort into their sequels and spent years doing new engines for each game
I think I remember reading Bungie stating if they could have made the map packs free they would have, but Microsoft has the final say in how much the packs would cost. Plus they actually put really good effort in the packs, because they care for the game which makes them one of the better developers than others.
Halo 1 still has shitloads of people online, I just found this out. Its awesome.
Since when, I checked a few times last year and there were 0 servers, unless you mean custom edition, I'm pretty sure no one plays it.

Activision will probably have a say in that game's DLC pricing.
I am actually excited for halo 4 regardless of what other people may think. I hope it will be as good as the previous in the series.
I am actually excited for halo 4 regardless of what other people may think. Bungie are the people who never disappoint. Hence my skepticism.
They made Reach, which was great.
No that was also Bungie. Full list: Halo 1 - Bungie Halo 2 - Bungie Halo 3 - Bungie Halo 3: ODST - Bungie Halo Reach - Bungie Halo Wars - Ensemble (before they disbanded and formed 343i) Upcoming titles; Halo 4 - 343i Halo: Anniversary edition - 343i

To bad that by the time Halo 4 comes out I won't actually be a "kid" anymore. Thanks FP. You made me sad.
Halo Wars - Ensemble (before they disbanded and formed 343i)
They better use the same writers from the original halo games. Halo wars definitely didn't feel like a halo game.
They better use the same writers from the original halo games. Halo wars definitely didn't feel like a halo game.
Yeah, and the cinematics were pretty but really didn't fit a Halo game, and those were sort of the climaxes of the game. And the characters had been generic-i-fied. I mean who thought of putting David Beckham in the game?
They made Reach, which was great.
I really didn't like Reach anything near the other games. The story was just uninteresting because they just kept killing of characters I didn't get enough time with to care about. It's just filled with forgetful scenes up until you get to Cortana because nothing interesting happens in the story until then and the main reason I even remember much of the ending is because I didn't like it. The gameplay felt very different from the other games with new things like armor mods, new game mods and almost all weapon we're new or tweaked ones. Not that there's anything wrong with that I just preferred the gameplay of the other games.
The battle in the mausoleum.
I believe I made a video of it, was it this? [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbNIo0zxHeQ[/hd]
Oh man I started looking through my old Halo videos, brings back nostalgia. Like this one;
I hope Halo 4 will be on PC, i never got to play Reach because I'd already sold my Xbox
No that was also Bungie.
Even with that said, don't get your hopes up on free DLC for Bungie's new game on PC and PS3. Activision will probably have a say in that game's DLC pricing.
It might not be the case. Reason why Bungie left Microsoft and to become an independent company is so they have more freedom to do what they want. They were extremely careful with Activision this time around, they're only publishing and they aren't owned by them.
I liked ODST's soundtrack too. This one being my favorite (it gives a sense that I can't explain but it fits with the game.) The song stops at 3:06 and another one starts right after.
My favorite one in Halo 2...it's just so beautiful.
Halo 1 still has shitloads of people online, I just found this out. Its awesome.
Only problem with CE was the horrendous netcode, which, although worked, wasn't very optimised, I mean, then ormal ping for halo is like a min of 70-80, where was other games such as Cod, gldsrc, and src have an average of like 30 ping if you are near the server
The remastered Halo1 OST is amazing:
