sweet, I like the depth. Use a macro lens?
It's not that close in :v:
18-55mm, lol.
Ah, nice. Didn't expect such a good DOF on just the lens by itself, but... I need to play with wide apertures up close more often :v:

Oooh what are those? Tarts? Could benefit from a tad wider DoF in my opinion.
They're thumbprint cookies with raspberry jam inside. Also, i usually have a little bit more information on the picture if you click the link (not all the time though). anyway, Day 47 http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonbarker/4213874612/
whoa... interesting. I like how the picture frames on either side are just barely breaking into the frame. It complets the picture and makes the empty space much less empty feeling. [editline]01:10PM[/editline] who the fuck keeps showing up to rate your pictures dumb? :raise: also bawks.

the lamp is a bit weak, but I like it in general. Could be the advertising student in me, but that kind of picture is useful for things like home decor magazines and such. If you can advertise the entire room's theme in a single shot so closed in as this, you've got gold. I liked the water tower, partially because of the overwhelming point of view, and probably in part because I don't see many of these... of couse, that's probably because a lot of water towers are fenced off way before you get this close. If it wasn't so bitterly cold, I'd take the bit of inspiration I just got from this pic to go find a few places I used to visit, particularly a long path that runs underneath some heavy duty power lines, through an interesting gazebo, past a cannon, and ending at a massive overly reinforced water tower. remind me to do that in a few months :v: I like the fog in day 53, it's odd seeing it on such a clear day. Clouds feel a bit generic, though. 52 is interesting... a lot of people get shots of street lights, but the arrangement you have there- broken, but still uniform- keep me looking at it. Nifty.

The Christmas tree one is intriguing. I how did you move the position of the lights without the tree as a whole? Please share your secret. Also, I'm glad you didn't just do a typical postcard shot for the Washington Monument. I think the scale of the building is successfully portrayed in yours. The previous photo is very beautiful as well.
The Christmas tree one is intriguing. I how did you move the position of the lights without the tree as a whole? Please share your secret.
I would guess long-ish shutter speed + flash with FEC down 2 stops or so

A flash picture is taken and exposed properly, then the slow exposure kicks in and you can create some cool effects with it. shit late
That makes sense. Very interesting idea.

hey that's pretty cool
wow, neat. :D and I understand the whole too-cold-to-care-to-take-the-camera-out thing. It's negative 15F windchills out here, I can't even breath if I face the wind.
