Maybe you installed or someone installed Helvetica? Microsoft ripped off Helvetica with Arial and they ripped off Myraid Pro, which in turn was a rip of Frutiger, with Segoe UI.

But Helvetica was the default on the Apple Macintosh and Microsoft refused to pay Linotype licence fees, and as Microsoft copy everything that Apple do, they commissioned Monotype to make a Helvetica look-a-like. Arial is the same size, proportions and stuff so something made on a Mac in Helvetica will work interchangeably on a PC, it would just a bit crappier. I feel sorry for the people that made it, Robin Nicholas and Patricia Saunders. They were doomed from the start. Helvetica is perfect, it just works. You can't make perfect better, you can only make it crappier. And they did. But you can just say "No can do" to Monotype. But yeah. You should watch [URL="http://www.helveticafilm.com/"]Helvetica[/URL]. I own it on Blu-Ray. Brilliant movie.
