Portrayal of Axis in movies, games etc - General

The Germans wanted domination of all Europe, I don't know about North/South America though. Or Asia for that matter. They had some stuff going on in North Africa too. The Japanese decided to bomb Pearl Harbor while we were technically neutral. Supplying the Allies, because they were our allies, but fighting nobody.

I would love to play a game where the protagonist is a german, but unfortunately if such a game was released, uninformed/arrogant people would probably rage.

Mainly because wither we shouldn't view the Germans of that time as human beings. And in the case of the Germans, it would be banned because the Germans never did anything bad back then.

Well lets not confuse Wermacht with SS here. Other than that, all sides in the war had their bad side, it's just how war is. But the only group I hate from the German Forces at that time were the SS. The actual ones to completely hate Jews and just about everything else, true Nazis. Battle Of Berlin was some fucked up shit too, Soviet Union wiping the floor with German troops. Some weren't even troops, just regular civilians with a helmet and gun slapped too them and someone saying "Fight for your Fatherland!" And to be a bit more on topic, I would love to see a movie like Letters From Iwo Jima, but with the war in Europe. See a bit more of the German side for once.

Most of the Germans weren't fighting for the Nazis, nor believed in what the Nazis claimed, but were instead fighting for their nation, because they either felt it was under attack or they had been wronged previously-not for Hitler and not for Jewish extermination.

Yes, and they hated the fact that their country was being overrun with jewish immigrants and whatnot. For any one who lives in border states, compare it to that.
