Hey guys, lately I've been seeing a ton of world wide strategy type threads popping up on FP. We seem to have been lacking a good old side-scrolling war thingy thread. So, I decided to make one.
RULES (read or prepare your anus)
-Absolutely no JPGs
-No dicks
-No nukes!
-no power-moves. (things like moving your army halfway across the map in one turn, or shooting all your enemies at once)
-You need to do some half-decent narratives in your turns too, don't just write "mah 133t gais xXnoscopeXx all teh enemy newbz k"
-Your army doesn't have to be WWI era, but Here are the limits of what your army can do: No helicopters, planes, or very advanced technology (such as teleporters)
-Declaring. You must declare before you post a turn, but don't stack up to more than 2 declares at a time.
-Diplomacy, peace treaty, cease fires and takings sides are allowed.
-I am the Gamemaster, and I reserve the right to intervene in the game and disband players and change the rules. If your turn is breaking these rules it will be disregarded.
(if anyone wants to help me with these rules go ahead, I know I'm somewhat of a noob)
The map: (map made by a guy named Hobbsey on picturewars.net)

I'll go first so... declare.

Another cold, drizzling day on Charlie Outpost. The men sit around as usual and play cards, or hunt rats. The distant sounds of artillery and the chatter of machine guns is like a strange rhythm in the distance. Their one tank sits idle; it's been immobile for a few days after the engine broke. A truck should arrive any day now with some spare parts to get it up and running again.
Oh and one more thing. You are encouraged to post your sprite sheet so people can use it for their turn, if they need to draw your mens' guts all over. My sprite sheet:

Undeclare!

Redeclare!

A team of UCSE soldiers has entered the area; they notice an outpost ahead of them. They take positions and attempt to make contact with the group ahead of them. They wave at the group, awaiting a response to determine whether they should fire or not.

My spritesheet. It's a WIP, i'll be adding artillery, tanks, and more later.
This map is a bit too... Tiny, for more than 2 people.
I would like to join but whenever i try spriting it always ends up like stick men

Feel free to make or find a better one, just do it before we get too far in.

Just to get this thing going, declare.

Two privates are sent forward to investigate.
Planes were used in WWI?
If you're referring to my sprite sheet, I'm just not going to use those sprites.
Planes were used in WWI?

WW1 was the first war when planes were used in high numbers. You ever hear of the Red Baron?
It wasn't a question. He isn't allowing planes in a war era where they were used
And using ww2-era tanks
That is a good point actually.
And using ww2-era tanks
You don't expect him (or anyone else) to actually make a completely new sprite(sheet) just for this thread, right?
I am, it does not take that long to make a spritesheet when you've got the basics down so I don't see the problem in having him make something that doesn't include ww2-era tanks
Surprisingly, not everyone can make a sprite sheet in 10 minutes.
Also, when I get home I'll extend the map left and right. Is it okay if I add mountains to right, and sea to left?

That'd be great. Also, my army doesn't have to be WWI. If you read the rules carefully you'd know that:

Declare
Two Asian troops are deployed and set up a small barrier and crate.

Declare.
[editline]12th February 2013[/editline]
Your image is a JPG.
There are tons of artifacts everywhere; re-upload it in the correct format please.
You're still restricting the fucking planes

Anyone gonna expand the map? I can but I'd suck...
If I do, can we have airplanes?
Ok. NEW RULES. Rules for airplanes. Your airplane must comply with these rules. Your air plane must be:
-extremely slow
-armed with rifles, grenades, small bombs, or not at all
-able to be shot down by a revolver
-made of paper and wood
-generally shitty
Declaring to fix some shit
