Why did one of the guy's get pushed into the water at around 1:00? And, nice videos. I want to be in the air force and try to be a jet jockey.
You all look so young. Makes me sad to think people just like you sometimes don't make it out. Godspeed, man.
8:28 soldier looked bad-a
I hate to kill the mood or anything but does a lot of sex happen between the women and the men soldiers there? It would seem that way.
yes join the army and get alut of girls
Some great clips/photos there. However don't change music every half a minute, it just gets annoying.
No rest for the wicked, it seems. It's not hard, what you do, is it? The video's aren't bad, and it makes military life seem a lot more livable than I thought. On top of that, you know I've really got to wonder exactly how it is you can RTB after shooting people and be so goddamn chipper.

One, I didn't shoot anybody over in Iraq, and if I did, it would've been for a damn good reason. And secondly, if you're asking why I'm happy.......uh....lol. I just got back from Iraq, made it out alive, got to see my family and friends, I'm back in the states.......I mean......why WOULDN'T I be happy? ...
I really appreciate your service. My dad is a Captain in the National Guard, and was over in Iraq for two years (Was a 1st Lieutenant when he went, got promoted on his return), and is soon due to go back, though I'm not sure how long he'll stay this time. These videos are great, and I respect your work.
Mike, what's your AFSC? Are you Security Forces, is that why you were chilling on a patrol?
Yeah, I'm Security Forces. And what do you mean by "chilling"?
To clarify, I meant in the videos, you and your buddies seem pretty cheerful. Isn't Iraq supposed to be, you know, a warzone? Do people really act like that with the constant possible threat of imminent death? Don't think I'm trying to be smart-alecky or sarcastic, please, I'm genuinely at a loss. Yeah, you made it out alive, and I'm glad you did, but take a moment to ruminate over that statement. Made it out alive... I mean, dear god, you could have died! I know that's not exactly uncommon in war, but that only begs the question, why be happy about it? I mean, no offense, but the soldiers in the videos seem to be behaving like children at times. Isn't war a sobering experience? It's beyond understanding for me.
Enter Shikari at the end of the first video was a perfect song choice.
Although the Air Force has ABEs that are authorized. And it's not JUST the Marines/Army's job. The Air Force does just as much work as those two branches. In fact we do it better than the Army, atleast in Iraq. We're on the frontlines just as much as the Army and Marines. Everyone just assumes that people in the Air Force fly planes. Only 4% of the Air Force flies.
Yeah I guess you guys were pushing the fight in fallujah too right? I got nothing but respect for you, but c'mon, saying you're on the frontlines just as much as the Army and Marines are is like saying a cook can do just a good a job as a trained infantryman can.

Yes, war is sobering, it's tough, it gets you in deep thought sometimes. Most of us were pretty nervous before we got in Iraq mainly because we were ignorant, we didn't know what to expect. Firstly, after the group we were replacing trained us up, and after about a month, we started gettin into the swing of our job. We went outside the wire alot, pretty much everyday, so you get used to it, as weird as that sounds. Secondly, one thing about deploying is, you meet great people from other bases. My squad was the shit. Not to brag but we were Team Of The Month one month, always got praise from leadership, and we had the coolest people that had commonsense and excellent comadery. We knew how to do our job and we did it well. Each one of us knew that we had each other's backs, and if something crazy went down, there was help and then some. With great comadery comes ease. You don't feel as nervous. I mean yes in the back of you're mind you're still thinking "what if this/that happens?" "how much longer do I have left here?". I mean, I was the lead .50 cal gunner in our squad. So anything that looked suspicious (i.e IED) it was on me to stop the formation and clear it. But anyways, when you have a good relationship with the people around you, you're more comfortable. I mean, do you really think we're gonna mope around, be sad, not talk to each other, worry 24/7, etc ? NO! That would make life miserable, holy cow. You have to have fun overseas as weird as it may sound to you guys. We were confident (not cocky), and that helped us do our job well. That's why there's so many morale events/places overseas for soldiers. That's why we have the pool, the gym, the movie theatre, the recreation center, the USO, etc. We have to get our minds off war sometimes and do things we would normally do in the states. But some people think that when we say we go to the movies or the pool, that means we're not doing our job or there's really nothing happening in Iraq. Not true, not true, not true. Again, we worked a 7 and 1, 7 straight days of work and then a day off. So sometimes we used that day off to go to the pool or movies. I hope that helps. You really have to experience it to completely understand it I guess.
Yeah I guess you guys were pushing the fight in fallujah too right? Too many people think the Air Force is just pilots and only sit and work back-office jobs.
Yeah, I'm Security Forces. And what do you mean by "chilling"?
just a random verb. I wanna be a PJ
Nice videos. Respect.
I wanna be a PJ
Good luck, lol. Running and swimming 25 hours a day, 8 days a week. ;)
