Actually, some people get a condition after doing acid (I wish I could remember the name of it) where the left hemisphere of their brain doesn't affect their conciousness as much, and the left hemisphere of your brain is very important for thoughts that have to do with "grounding" you to your surroundings and reality, so in effect they become more socially awkward and they don't act the way they used to.
Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it doesn't. It's never happened to me, but apparently it's not all that rare.
