I'd say that sexualization in games to appeal to peoples sexual interests is fine. In Mmorpgs especially they do this for both sexes.
Not to mention the fact that both sexes when playing games like to play as an ideal and that ideal for both men and women is generally different. I've played games with ridiculous sexualization and was in a guild with gender parity. Women that play these games don't care or even enjoy the sexualization of both men and women.

If you check out any form of media to date with a strong ass male character, you'll find a strong ass female character just around the corner. Look at Space Marines and their female Sisters of Battle equivalents. If I tried to list every single strong male character alongside his alternative, equally strong female counterpart I'd be here for a fucking decade.

The Boss is hands down my favorite female in gaming. Don't get me wrong, I love the likes of Lara, Samus, Alyx, Ruby etc. But nobody holds a candle to the Boss. I will be eternally grateful to Kojima-san for some of my favorite characters in video games.
I would love to see a The Boss game, where you play as a soldier fighting alongside her and the rest of the Cobra Unit, but it seems like that would never hapen

She's the mother of the special forces, started the Cobra Unit, was a major influence in winning WW2, was the first in the lineage of Big Boss, [sp]Solid Snake, and even Raiden,[/sp] and [sp]all global politics for the next 50 or so years are pretty much the result of various people interpreting her dying wish differently because they were all essentially her apostles.[/sp]
If you never played MGS 3, there's a big character, Colonel Volgin, and he is like 7 feet tall with super strength and magic electrical powers that are never explained. He is shown punching through walls and impenetrable tank armor on multiple ocassions.
The Boss, who is 5'10" with no actual super powers, begins advancing on Volgin after he annoyed her in a scene. Volgin backs the fuck down because he knows the Boss would ruin him.
This is the kind of badass we're talking.
So yeah, she's a pretty big deal.

That might ruin part of what makes.her character so interesting. She was in one game, and that alone cemented her as a legend just though a fragment of her back story. Part of her character is based around the fact that you'll never be her, never be as smart or strong or genuinely caring as she was.
Quite a good contender for the best character in video games, let alone essentially winning the title of best female.character hands down. She has depth, an interesting role in the game, and subverts a few expectations of how female characters in the spy flicks that inspired the themes of MGS 3 behave and are treated. Kojima did good with this one.
