My computer heated up so much watching this video I cooked bacon on it.
My computer heated up so much watching this video I cooked bacon on it.
I made an omelette on my half melted computer, which I devoured while rewatching the video. Then the room temperature got so hot, that my monitor melted, and now i'm blind typing this message. 10/10 would watch again. BTW does anyone know where I can get a new monitor?
tbh on the senran kagura topic earlier, that series is as much as a empowerment fantasy as something like gears of war or whatever male character games out there. if people like being big buff ripped military guys with blood and gore everywhere or a borderline-stupid JRPG male protag with more belts than sense then why is it sexist for me to be a super cool and cute girl with big boobs and ninja powers. (snek best senran)

Yeah, why hasn't she talked about Portal? It's a great example, and yet she hasn't said a word on it. Does she not want to for some odd reason?

You mean the game that both vilifies women and implies they need to be controlled to be kept stable, while at the same time idealizes the silent woman via a mute protagonist!? Get out of my sight.
well we can always bring it back to anita with a choice quote from her regarding japan
Hey, I know that website, they got all the best quotes from the greatest role models of society
All that quote shows us is that videogames are not the only topic that she has no fucking clue what shes talking about. She is also ignorant and stupid when it comes to history as well. America bombed Japan back to traditional values? Everything about this woman is cringeworthy and unlikeable. She probably wouldn't come off as such an ignorant person if she actually did research and fact checked before she spewed bullshit out of her mouth. But that's asking way too much from someone who can't even finish a video series after they were down right given over 100 thousand dollars. Fucking pathetic.

Not doing her research got her to the UN and convinced a world leader that Gamergate must be stopped, why start now?
This girl. This girl is my new waifu.
Okay so let me get this straight. Sexual Content is sexist? Even though the market has Female and MALES sexualized? Doesn't sound sexist to me. Asia also sexualizes their Males btw.
Well, you see, when females are sexualized, it's objectification for men to enjoy, and when men are sexualized, it's "male power fantasy" which is also for men to enjoy (by identifying with those characters). ^actual SJW logic Here's an interesting essay on this

I wonder if anita has/will respond, and what she'll say. Tbh there's not much you can say after getting fucking steamrolled like that
I wonder if anita has/will respond, and what she'll say. Tbh there's not much you can say after getting fucking steamrolled like that
Her career is denying criticism and spewing bullshit. I doubt this video will phase her.

Not doing her research got her to the UN and convinced a world leader that Gamergate must be stopped, why start now?
Her getting to the UN was the absolute peak of her own stupidity because it was so obvious she was being used by old politicians who didn't give a fuck about what she had to say, they just wanted to get some rep by hiring whatever "popular" video game related celeb they had at their disposal and have them throw empty complaints about some random subject, which is 99% of what the UN does nowadays.
Margaret seems like a genuinely wonderful person The video was good too
I wonder if anita has/will respond, and what she'll say. Tbh there's not much you can say after getting fucking steamrolled like that
You see the trick is to not respond because that makes it harassment and not critique because you haven't responded to it, and can tell everyone it's harassment.
the main demographic of video games is men do you think they're actually trying to appeal to women with buff dudes?
Yeah why do you think erotic literature targeted women have buff dudes all over it?
it actually is male power fantasy though the main demographic of video games is men do you think they're actually trying to appeal to women with buff dudes?
Sometimes they do. Not all the time, but sometimes.
Yeah why do you think erotic literature targeted women have buff dudes all over it?
With games like Gears of War it is a male power fantasy. However those games aren't aimed at women. Media aimed at women does feature buff dudes since quite a few women like that stuff. And no, I don't mean body builders.
I've always thought of Optimus Prime as more of a power fantasy than like Buff McLargehuge. And there are plenty of male characters in games that were designed for sex appeal, like the Prince of Persia or Nathan Drake.
it actually is male power fantasy though the main demographic of video games is men do you think they're actually trying to appeal to women with buff dudes?
Being at university I see a lot of men and women who play video games and they all like the same characters. Boring generic fuckheads like Marcus Fenix don't actually appeal to anyone who's over 15 because they're shit characters. Beefy guys like Batman appeal to everyone even if they're technically a power fantasy because they're well written characters. If your design is shit then people won't like it, if your design is good then people will like it. There's none of that designed for men/designed for women thing going on in the video game industry, you either write and design a good character or you don't. [editline]31st October 2015[/editline]
Aaah male power fantasy, the shit so vague you can fit taking revenge into it but also taking down a villain and pretty much anything. And even after 10 pages of discussion still stays unintelligible. Would just be faster to post "look at me, I'm still here!".
Basically any character who's male and not completely comically incompetent is a male power fantasy, if you listen to people who so liberally use that term
Yeah why do you think erotic literature targeted women have buff dudes all over it?
But video games aren't erotic literature. Erotic literature is targeted at mainly a female demographic, however in the context of video games buff dudes everywhere that you play as are a male power fantasy because its a male dominated industry targeted at men as their primary demographic, it isn't really that hard to figure out.
But video games aren't erotic literature. Erotic literature aren't video games. Video games target mainly a male demographic, howver in the context of erotic literature buff dudes everywhere are sexual fantasies because it's a female dominated industry targeted a females as their primary demographic. Simple stuff.
But video games aren't erotic literature.
it actually is male power fantasy though the main demographic of video games is men do you think they're actually trying to appeal to women with buff dudes?
Sooooo. Do buff dudes not appeal to women? Do you speak for all women?
That essay linked a few posts up shows why the "male power fantasy" argument is complete bunk.
