New "smart remove" feature coming to Photoshop CS5

It's probably real, there are still some artifacts after the tool is used, and if they were trying to fake a wonder tool, wouldn't they try to make it look even better? An as previously mentioned, there has been research into this area.

The program detected the patterns next to it and then replicated them. That's why you randomly got some ugly blue spots in a few places.

It's not [i]that[/i] great. In the bench image, the shadow's brightness isn't preserved completely, though that can easily be touched up. The desert road image was a huge fail, anyone could have done that in a matter of seconds using the clone stamp. As for the panorama, there'd still be lots of touching up to do around the edges if you looked closely. Overall it's not amazing, but it looks like it'll help decently.
