It goes past 100 yards pretty easily, but its very hard to keep the windage at that range (the round tend to go off course on the way down), so I usually try to get within 100 yards of the target with a good piece of cover between it and the mortar. If worst comes to worst, I will do indirect fire, but then I tend to not get the footballs back, so I try to avoid it. The 63mm shoots tennis balls and has a slightly shorter accurate range, but a longer maximum range.

Why don't you build something around a paintball gun? Get a remote line, and maybe a Tippmann 98 Custon, which is very reliable (My brothers and I own several of them, including the older Tippmann 98, and the older 98 custom). It's reliable, save for a few leaks every now and then, but then again we've taken ours apart hundreds of time, they're very simple on the inside, sort of like the AK of paintball guns, and run for about a hundred bucks. Instead of 40mm grenades, you can just use the paintball gun, seeing as it's semiautomatic, and use the air from it to propel your projectile. Another bonus is that you don't have to worry about triggers.

I wanna try and get a top-button trigger though, like the real thing, rather than an actual pull trigger.

I dunno, I like the RPG-26 because there's not much protruding out of it, it's just a tube basically. And it's nice and compact. If I can't figure out a top-button trigger system, I'll just have to make the pull trigger then.
