Mus1c isn't a name.
Exactly [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] Here's a few pictures I took less than 5 minutes ago for you to look at while I type out the replies They take like 10 minutes each to post:/ [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] She's advertising the world's cheapest laptop
Raisin could get me to buy anything!
You know what would be a neat idea? If, in honor of little Raisin, Facepunch came together to come up with an idea for the Pepsi Refresh Project. We could possibly come up with an idea to start a small kitty shelter or something to provide collars and microchips to cat owners who can't afford them. I dunno, something. Would be cool since if we got all of Facepunch to vote for it, we could easily win a grant. Aside from that, all of these pictures are great. If this post gets enough agrees, I can see about doing something like this.
I think this is a great idea but maybe the funds can be used for something else that isn't as costly as giving microchips. I would also like to find an alternative to having to euthanize strays who don't get adopted and I think if we found this alternative then many people would support this project EDIT: I'll add this to the OP Is there a way that I can make a direct link to Pascall's comment that I can post on the OP? [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
How big is Raisin now Op?
She's outgrowing the palm of my hand and she's finding it less challenging to jump to & from a higher ground:] [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
I never heard of that but sounds good
They've been doing commercials about it on TV but I didn't have any good ideas until Pascall came along with such a wonderful suggestion:D [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
http://www.refresheverything.com/ More info. Basically, you come with an idea of how to help your community or something and then people vote for the best one and whoever gets the most votes that month receives a grant to go through with the idea. The only tricky part is that when you apply, you need to fill out a LOT of details like how you'll use the budget, what time are you ready to start it, what are your steps..junk like that. It'd take some work but if you have various people pitching in on one idea, it shouldn't be too hard.
Maybe you can post some screenshots of you filling out the application and we'll give you advice on how to fill it out if you'd like Pascall [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
Would need more support and people willing to help me though. If someone wants to make a steam or facepunch group for the "kitty campaign", that'd be cool. Would be easier to talk to people willing to do something like this.
If we get a link to your post then I can give it to some friends at school so they can post it on whatever websites they can and I would also post it on my Facebook for added support [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
I will help.
Thanks for taking your time to help guy:) [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
Alright, so I've saved the application but I can't submit it until November 1st. Once I am able to submit it, I will and will provide a link which can hopefully be added to the OP. Or maybe I'll create a new thread for it since it's kind of a different thing. BUT, in the meantime, join the Steam group and show your support for Raisin and the shelter for wayward kitties. :h: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/FacepunchforRaisin [img_thumb]http://i55.tinypic.com/rr3wus.png[/img_thumb] If you want to create a Facebook group, a Twitter, or a Youtube account for the cause, please let me know and link me so I can add it to the page while I can! Once I submit it, I can't change it, so let me know if you want to help.
Ooops I'm late:/
Yeah lol. It's cool though. <3 http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?1013955-Raisin-s-Pepsi-Refresh-Project-for-Wayward-Kitties! There's the thread.
I freaking love everything about this thread. OP is so generous for taking care of our Raisin. <3 Also, I think the Refresh Project idea is really good. My school won $5,000 to help out blues musicians doing that.
What was your schools project? [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
I can't really donate anything, but it's really nice that you rescued Raisin. All my cats are rescued. Two were off the side of the road. One was absolutely covered with fleas, and the newest addition was super skinny. I bet that she's really happy now.
It's really nice that you rescued your pets and nurtured them back to health:3: [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
Raisin could get me to buy anything!
...Anything?:raise::) [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] Ok so I'll be putting the link to the thread you made and the group on Facepunch and Steam in a few seconds [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] I have just added the edits to the OP I hope I haven't forgot anything. I was wondering if anyone could make something similar to a traffic light that I can post in the OP. What it will be used for is so that if it is set to green, then donations are encouraged. If it is set to yellow, then donations should cease unless the donor's generosity knows no limit:D
this thread makes me regain hope in humanity i'd donate if i hadn't bought some stuff yesterday good luck raising Raisin, op.
http://www.youtube.com/user/raisinrefresh Youtube channel for Raisin :)
Sounds like a deodorant brand. Ewwww raisin smelling :raise:
Wait, what breed is Raisin?
It's a cat. :frogdowns:
It's a cat. :frogdowns:
There are breeds of cats just like there are breeds of dogs. Siamese, tabby, shorthair, etc. There are just as many breeds of cats as there are dogs. To name a few.
Breed. I think it's an American wirehair, but probably a mix. [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] I can make videos but not now :saddowns: By November 5 I can though.
I wouldn't be able to get it on the official voting site after November 1st, but you can make it anyways and we can post it on the Facebook.
And the YouTube channel. Though we need some still video. [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] Meet Raisin as first video?
That sounds cool. But let's keep discussion about the PRP to the other thread.
Agreed. What's the update on the vet? Did I miss that or is the 2 weeks not up yet.
How's raisin doing OP?
Agreed. What's the update on the vet? Did I miss that or is the 2 weeks not up yet.
I made a call but the vet offices around me are backed up to the point that the call I made was to make an appointment for them to call me. And when they call me I get to make an appointment meaning I have to wait again. The bad thing is I don't get a specific date, they just say "we'll call back in a few days". I'm not in a rush though because the memory card still hasn't arrived so I wouldn't be able to make you guys a video [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
How's raisin doing OP?
She's doing well. Her progress can be summarized like this: - When I found her you could see her ribs and she was missing hair on her tail - First few times I fed her she at like someone was going to take her food away - Eating so much made her ribs a lot less visible plus her stomach was more bulky - I take her out for daily walks, she climbs me all the time, and jumps a few feet in the air multiple times a day to reach my bed so now she has started slenderizing into a very athletic kitteh and the hair on her tail is growing back [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] Here's the dog my little brother pet a few days ago which later followed him home She's very mellow. She'll just stare out at her environment whilst deep in thought. Here eyes are old and tired. Raisin spotted me taking pictures so she ran in front of the camera Still pensive Here you can kind of see the exhaustion in her eyes
The dog looks like it could be on its last legs :( , good to see Raisin is hopping about though! Cheers for the pics!
I was going to use the money in my paypal to buy Pokemon Emerald. But now you can have it :) [editline]15th October 2010[/editline] I also made a facebook group in attempt to get more support. http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_121958541196274&ap=1
I would advise against taking him to a shelter. At most shelters, they euthanize any pets who've been there for over two weeks. :ohdear: Try and find someone to adopt him if you can't take care of him yourself. Put up fliers around school or ask your friends.
Not true. They only euthinize animals that are too old for adoption, or very... What's the word.... bad tempered.. dangerous, if you will. The truth is we can't save them all, and no matter how much you try you will never be able to because the money has to come from somewhere, and it can't always be attained. It's also only fair. Nobody wants the animal, the shelter can't afford to feed it if it's gonna be there for 1 to 4 years, or however long.
Yeah. A lot of shelters still kill when they lack space. More and more shelters are becoming no-kill though, which is great.
Bring that dog to a shelter or something if it's on it's last legs. [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
Yeah. A lot of shelters still kill when they lack space. More and more shelters are becoming no-kill though, which is great.
No, it's not. You understand no kill shelters reach a certain point, then they stop accepting animals. At that point some people can be discouraged to bringing them to a shelter if they keep getting rejected. If all shelters were no kill it would be terrible, since most of them would fill up quickly. More and more people would just leave their animal on the side of the road and speed off, or whatever it is people do.
Wait, what breed is Raisin?
I think she's a rottweiler.
This is a great example of the butterfly effect, your simple act of kindness op has sparked so much good, theirs even a pepsi refresh project thread!
You are so kind OP. You did the right thing. The fags that voted "dumb" on the first post deserve to go to hell.
At my church, there`s a prayer wall, I put a note with a prayer for raisin into it. :3:
The best you can do for the dog is make her comfortable and cozy. Keep her happy. :saddowns:
Keep this kitteh on the front page !
This world needs more people like you John
