I think this is a great idea but maybe the
funds can be used for something else that
isn't as costly as giving microchips. I would
also like to find an alternative to having to euthanize
strays who don't get adopted and I think if we found
this alternative then many people would support this project

Basically, you come with an idea of how to help your community or something and then people vote for the best one and whoever gets the most votes that month receives a grant to go through with the idea. The only tricky part is that when you apply, you need to fill out a LOT of details like how you'll use the budget, what time are you ready to start it, what are your steps..junk like that. It'd take some work but if you have various people pitching in on one idea, it shouldn't be too hard.[/QUOTE]

I made a call but the vet offices around me are backed
up to the point that the call I made was to make an
appointment for them to call me. And when they
call me I get to make an appointment meaning
I have to wait again. The bad thing is I don't
get a specific date, they just say "we'll call
back in a few days".
I'm not in a rush though
because the memory card
still hasn't arrived so I wouldn't
be able to make you guys a video

She's doing well.

Her progress can be summarized like this:
- When I found her you could see her ribs and she was missing hair on her tail
- First few times I fed her she at like someone was going to take her food away
- Eating so much made her ribs a lot less visible plus her stomach was more bulky
- I take her out for daily walks, she climbs me all the time, and jumps a few feet in the air multiple times a day to reach my bed so now she has started slenderizing into a very athletic kitteh and the hair on her tail is growing back

Not true. They only euthinize animals that are too old for adoption, or very... What's the word.... bad tempered.. dangerous, if you will. The truth is we can't save them all, and no matter how much you try you will never be able to because the money has to come from somewhere, and it can't always be attained.
It's also only fair. Nobody wants the animal, the shelter can't afford to feed it if it's gonna be there for 1 to 4 years, or however long.

No, it's not.
You understand no kill shelters reach a certain point, then they stop accepting animals. At that point some people can be discouraged to bringing them to a shelter if they keep getting rejected.
If all shelters were no kill it would be terrible, since most of them would fill up quickly. More and more people would just leave their animal on the side of the road and speed off, or whatever it is people do.
