We found good leads on Craiglist but the ad posters
didn't reply to any of the emails we sent them
asking for more information on the kitty
they found. We're still trying to open

I convinced my mother (who has a phobia of cats and has sudden attacks of explosive wall shattering diarrhea when cats come near her) to let us get a cat. We had been harrassing her for years to let us get a cat and she finally snapped recently and agreed. We had chose the one we wanted from our national animal rescue charity, [url=http://www.scottishspca.org/rehoming/category/cats]here[/url]. There was a beautiful two year old cat in my area that I was desperate to go and get, but only this week she has been rehomed and taken off the website and my mother has gone back to her initial view that all cats are demons and that demons are not welcome in her house.

Cats can sometimes adapt rather fast. Depends on how they are raised.
