I can tell you first hand, as a person who lives in a technically rich income bracket, my family can BARELY afford to stay rich. When you get more money, you spend more money. It is directly proportional, you have to save all you can to prepare for any kind of instability or you WILL lose all of your money and go broke.
must be some insane instability to need millions of dollars.
What is the most sad about this thread is that people tend to forget that people lose fortunes and gain fortunes all the time. I can just see their image of the "rich" in their heads, this entire elite clan who never lose money just gain and keep gaining. People fail to realize that people are rich because you make them rich. You don't want rich people around anymore? Stop using the internet, stop buying computers, stop buying cars and jewelry and tables for your kitchen, stop buying television, stop watching television, oh and stop paying your taxes because guess what they build shit for the government and are paid handsomely.
What the fuck does someone do with over 200K a year anyway?
Spend it on paying off car payments, monthly bills (that are very high), mortgage, most likely private schooling, which can be as expensive as going to a college. Then saving for college, too. Rich people don't bathe in money like most of you think.
must be some insane instability to need millions of dollars.
Rich is 400K+ a year. Only a minority of rich people make millions and millions. Those are the CEOs and politicians.
some people are born into poverty, and can't afford to get out of it
There is such thing as public schooling system, and in most Western countries (not sure about the USA)the government or private companies offer loans for students to go to university, so they can complete their course and get a job. There is no excuse for someone being poor in one of these countries unless it is result of physical or mental disability or as a result of having other priorities like having to look after ill family members.
Rich people don't earn shit, they thrive off other's hard work.
You are an idiot if you think rich people are rich because they are born into it. Sure they may have a very wealthy inheritance, but this is stricltly about income. These rich people you talka bout would have worked EXTREMELY hard during their schooling lives, at university and in their careers to get to where they are now. You aren't born intoa rich family and automatically get a high paying job wihtout doing any work.
lol yeah he coded a 1 bit game and makes more money than hard workers make fairness
It seems to me you are implying that he did not work hard to make minecraft, but rather it somehow made itself and he was lucky enough to sell it. Stop being an idiot, he worked very hard on the game.
Its not because they are taxed a lot, its because they are poor in the first place. If you only make 50 bucks a week from unemployment checks, you would want to spend as little as you could on food. Fast food is insanely cheap.
I don't know how it's in america, but in ireland fast food costs more than to prepare food myself. For the price of one burger I can buy enough meat and vegetables to cook atleast 3 dishes.
Rich is 400K+ a year. Only a minority of rich people make millions and millions. Those are the CEOs and politicians.
well i think THEY should be taxed more and not you ok?
I don't know how it's in america, but in ireland fast food costs more than to prepare food myself. For the price of one burger I can buy enough meat and vegetables to cook atleast 3 dishes.
It is a lot different here. You can eat 3 square meals a day for an entire year for only $150 or less.
you do realize many people can't help being poor. such is life in capitalism. the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. how the fuck is it their fault?
They refuse to work hard.
well i think THEY should be taxed more and not you ok?
Then the income brackets would have to change.
They refuse to work hard.
Easier said than done.
They refuse to work hard.
How do you think they got rich in the first place? Inheritance? Don't make me laugh about that. There is a thing called estate tax, which is currently at 55%.
I don't know how it's in america, but in ireland fast food costs more than to prepare food myself. For the price of one burger I can buy enough meat and vegetables to cook atleast 3 dishes.
rice macaroni water generic fruit damn cheap
i attribute the financial crisis to overindulgent executives not paying their fair share to society
lol yeah he coded a 1 bit game and makes more money than hard workers make fairness
1bit game, I can tell you're being serious here. For the level of complexity in the game, and its actively developed on, why not make more money than the 'hard workers'? Its called innovation.
rice macaroni water generic fruit damn cheap
I know people currently at university who eat romman noodles as their main diet, and spend only a few dollars for their whole weekly food supply.
They refuse to work hard.
plenty of people work their asses off just to make monthly rents, they don't seem to be getting any richer.
1bit game, I can tell you're being serious here.
I'm a fan of flat tax myself. Unfortunately the rich hate paying any taxes ever and find ways to get around it.
Not true, there was actually a thread about how 2/3 of the super rich want to be taxed. Nobody likes paying taxes, but they are essential. Increase taxes on the mega-rich. Legalize weed, tax the shit out of that. Just a few ways to increase government funding.
Duke: well do you think it's fair that rich people get tax reductions, while the poor have to pay more? Bletotum: nope Bletotum: of course those with more SPARE MONEY should pay more Bletotum: but based on percentage Bletotum: like everyone lose 10% Bletotum: of what is left after BARE necessity
This is the kind of argument I hate the most. It is ENTIRELY fair. People agree to buy the game from him, therefore a fair sale.
ya i do 8 years of college and save lives and shit as a doctor and i don't make as much money as some fat basement dweller that literally does nothing useful for society except withhold thousands of dollars from the economy
ya i do 8 years of college and save lives and shit as a doctor and i don't make as much money as some fat basement dweller that literally does nothing useful for society except withhold thousands of dollars from the economy
butthurt alarm
Easier said than done.
Sorry, didnt put my sarc mark after that second paragraph to show sarcasm
Here is my idea: Eliminate the IRS. They are inefficient and bullshit. Eliminate income tax. Unconstitutional and bullshit. Institute a progressive sales tax. The more the item costs, the higher the tax on that item. Also institute more tariffs on trade goods.
How do you think they got rich in the first place? Inheritance? Don't make me laugh about that. There is a thing called estate tax, which is currently at 55%.
Inheritance seemed to work out for my uncle. His father owned all of the land that is now Phoenix, AZ which he used for farmland. The government bought it all out for huge amounts of money and when he died everyone in the family got a few million. My uncle now owns 2 multi-million dollar homes.
Sorry, didnt put my sarc mark after that second paragraph to show sarcasm
Sorry about that, I'll switch the quotes then.
innovation is another way for people to waste time in these days i see
Yeah innovation is the devil.
ya i do 8 years of college and save lives and shit as a doctor and i don't make as much money as some fat basement dweller that literally does nothing useful for society except withhold thousands of dollars from the economy
Cry about it some more. Come up with a product that people will buy, hope it becomes a hit and become rich. You're going into a noble profession. I assume you're becoming a doctor to save lives for the common good instead of doing it for greed. Right?
butthurt alarm
but its true
Life isn't fair, bros.
