i don't like this life
So if I earn money, I should have to give away more percentage than those who didn't succeed? Because they didn't try? Sounds like the poor are lazy if the argument is just because they're poor.
What's that word? Oh yeah, communism.
Not true, there was actually a thread about how 2/3 of the super rich want to be taxed.
Nobody likes paying taxes, but they are essential.
Increase taxes on the mega-rich. Legalize weed, tax the shit out of that.
Just a few ways to increase government funding.
How about legalize weed and don't tax it?
Do you understand how much funding the government gets every day? Do you have any real concept of that? Seriously.
Do you know how much debt other countries buy from us, despite we have MASSIVE amounts of dollars flowing to the government every day?
The government is wildly irresponsible with money, they make things you and i will never use in our entire lives. They meddle in other peoples affairs and start wars, they legislate your morality. Thus is the problem weed legalization, they caused the problem in the first place and now you want to thank them for destroying your rights by paying them handsomely for it?
Left wingers make me fucking sick to my stomach.
but its true
thank you for yet another of your enlightening, well thought out posts where opinion becomes fact
It is very common for poor to middle class people (and even rich people who "pity" the poor) to want to tax the rich more, it is the sheer volume. It is popular to hate the rich because there is never as many rich as there is poor.
That said, fuck taxes. I don't care what religion or creed or how much money you have in the bank. Fuck taxes. It doesn't pay for giving money to the poor, it pays for giving guns to the military, wasting, legislating your life, your morality, your choices. A very very very very very very very very very very very small fraction of taxes actually goes to the poor. That is because the government is inefficient because it isn't their money.
It's easy to spend other peoples money haphazardly. It isn't easy to stick to your virtues in time of hardship.
Most people tie happiness directly to economic prosperity, that is cynical and you are a horrible person if you believe that to be true. Starving and homeless is one thing, eating shit food and having a shit car is another thing entirely.
tl;dr you are all being bribed by the government.
Taxes are the basis of any stable Government. With money they can spend it on their projects which generally improve the quality of life of everyone (that includes the poor)
i don't like this life
then end it
but its true
the man made a good game and people bought it. he's using the money to start up his company, hire people, get an office etc. to further manage and develop it.
thank you for yet another of your enlightening, well thought out posts where opinion becomes fact
is it somehow not true? is notch somehow more useful than a doctor?
i don't like this life
Then kill yourself. Its life, its not situated around money. You just think it is for some dumb odd reason.
What's that word? Oh yeah, communism.
If you're going to cry communism, you need to understand what communism is.
Fun Fact:
Income Tax is Uncostitutional.
That's why they passed an amendment to make it constitutional.
What you're saying is the exact thing I'm saying here. Your interest got higher, consider that a percentage. In the ideality I'm trying to explain, it would not have doubled because you'd pay a flat percentage of what you earn. You would not have lost your home.
hell, I never had a college fund to begin with
That becomes a different problem of its own; what is the perfect percentage that will allow the government to operate as they do, but not cripple the lower class? A bracketed system makes more sense. Expenses will go up (to a certain point) as income level increases. I fully understand that, but the relevance extravagance in lifestyle goes up as well. Well off families are not typically spending 30% of their income on their home, 30% on various insurances, and 20% on utilities. Their expendable cash goes up at a higher rate.
Bracketed taxes doesn't mean I want 50% tax rates for those making 100-200,000/year; it simply isn't feasible. It may be possible for those making 4 million/year in income, but at that point a large amount of the cash they earn is going directly into investments or savings. It's easier to adjust the taxes with it.

I didn't say no taxes, not once.
I said fuck taxes.
Taxes are the basis of any stable government but for them in this day and age, with how much money they take from business and individuals to say we need more, is fucking ridiculous.

Our current debt is 13 trillion. We make 14 trillion.
So we should go 1 year with a shitty, underfunded government.

We could actually probably manage with a 1 year budget of 1 trillion dollars

Morality has to be legislated, people can't be trusted
Government employs shitloads of people, need paychecks.
Taxing a drug used entirely for pleasure seems reasonable.
Nice extremism at the end.

America has the lowest taxes of any first world, modern nation

Again that's my point. When your quality of life increases faster as more money is gained, you've earned that money. You're saying to take more away besides a percentage, for the sake of evening it out. To even it out, that's what isn't fair.
edit
I should also point out the meaning of earn. Some random sweatshop worker isn't earning more than a CEO. To earn is to get something. The CEO is earning more money because he is acquiring that money. The way it comes down to is that the CEO isn't stealing the money, people have agreed to give it to him. The ceo certainly knows some things, to be able to get himself into that position. He had to put much more effort into becoming CEO than a bum to be a cheap replace-able worker.

In Portugal, they legalized Heroin. Usage went down 10%.
i didnt read the thread, but the rich deserve to get taxed more because they benefit more from society. as evidenced by them having more money. they spend this money on being served by the poor and middle class who provide the service industry and work in their companies respectively.
In Portugal, they legalized Heroin. Usage went down 10%.
not legalized, decriminalized. so it's not illegal to use it but it's still illegal to sell it.

Thank you for adding precision.
Also the population of the US is 300+ million.
You should be taxed based on what you can afford. So you have a somewhat decent basic living costs and don't have to worry about getting the shit taxed out of it.
Also rich people (Millionaires, billionaires, etc.) need a huge tax increase, they're not taxed at much as they should.
