IF YOU HAVE A DOOR YOU HAVE A GYM brb breaking the fuck out of my door
Yes, I first wanted some of these pull up shit that you put in the doorframe but my parents were like NOPE U GON BREAK IT so that's why I got the pull up station. I'll only be using the irongym for L Sits and other shit though. Aka 25$ for L sits.
315 front squats are becoming a breeze. 4 sets of 3 reps ez as pie
calisthenics 315 squats
wrong thread of peace
itt we learn bleach weighs 315
Should have phrased that better, probably couldn't do an L Sit on my pullup station thingy, there's bars at the very bottom for push ups but they're a bit too wide for L Sits and stuff and the station itself is cumbersome if I was trying to do something like that.
technically speaking you should be able to work your way up to an L Sit just on the floor you can find tons of progressions around on google [editline]14th April 2013[/editline] [t]http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2tgTpwdRzWo/UJZyNi6H6XI/AAAAAAAABE0/kjry24ludCk/s1600/floor+L-sit.jpg[/t] but giving yourself more space on some bars or using an iron gym like that will make it easier at first. you could also use a sturdy chair [editline]14th April 2013[/editline] i still like the iron gym because its portable and you can take it apart and put it in your briefcase for vacation
Tried an L sit with my ass on the ground, my legs just go down to the ground because gravity.
Tried an L sit with my ass on the ground, my legs just go down to the ground because gravity.
http://www.beastskills.com/l-seat/ This may help. I couldn't even do it at all at first. You may even need to do some hamstring stretches if you want your legs perfectly straight while doing it too. Basically, bend your knees and begin to straighten them out over time.
Learned wall flips few months ago, working on j-step flash gainers, going pretty good. Also done normal running gainers and one legged back-tucks. Can't get a hang of the cheat gainer, it's frickin' weird.
Haven't heard of the flash before, what exactly is it? (I know what the j-step is). I swear they just make half of these names up as they go :P The only reason I managed to pick up cheats was because I was walked through them by a skilled tricker at a recent jam
I think I found my problem to doing L-Sits, I seem to have slightly shorter arms than average or my torso is just really long or something. That or I can't balance myself at all, even in a tucked position, it just makes me lean forward and touch the ground again.
Bullshit, you're just not flexible and strong enough.
Probable that I'm not flexible enough, I'm easily strong enough though. I still just don't understand how this works, I'm probably just really fucking up my hands positioning because in the position I am, I feel like there's no way to actually not tumble forward because all the weight of my legs is way forward.
can you like film it or something
Sounds like posture/flexibility issue. Also, I think he meant strong in your core to keep your legs up rather than to hold yourself up. EDIT: Try placing your hands further forward
Sounds like posture/flexibility issue. Also, I think he meant strong in your core to keep your legs up rather than to hold yourself up. EDIT: Try placing your hands further forward
This, post a video please :)
Webcam's wire isn't nearly long enough and I've got no camera, I'll see if I can get to borrow my sister's Camera or something whenever I go to her home. Not putting my hands enough forward might be the problem though, I just doubt strength is the problem since I can do stuff like weighted hanging leg raises without a single hitch and outside of tumbling forward like an asshole on the L Sits, I have no trouble actually keeping my legs straight and stuff. Anyway, I'll check the technique out and shit.
Just wanna say that l-sit hanging is much much much more easier and completely different. You use a lot of shoulder strength when doing them on the ground.
I've been considering getting into some ring work, not too sure where to start with it all though (I don't have direct access to gymnasts who teach males). Anyone got any videos, or heck even just some step by step instructions, for some basic ring work?

Also try dead hang false grip 60 seconds and start working on the levers.
HOLY FUCK I DID IT! Didn't expect to be able to do this shit!
Very nicely done Rago! I think you've also given me a future target.
What are some good gymnastics rings? I've been considering grabbing these. http://www.ringtraining.com/shop/elite-wooden-gym-rings.html
Those look excellent!
That seems to be the general consensus. I'll probably be buying them soon.
So I've begun working on my one armed pushup. I'm gonna use stairs to help progress. I'm hoping to reach 3x10 OAPUs by July.
