You know what could happen when you try out the first game with delta? The phrase "godmode" comes to mind. Then again I do think he should have a second chance. This is a trial delta.

An air assault group stays in the air out of sight. They wait for their allies to make the first move.
....any more space for this?
Tech, didn't you see his post? Just me raga and him.
Ah well. KOMMRAD AND RAGA VS ME and maybe later TECH.
Maybe later tech...
Nah, go ahead Tech. It's fine. 2v2.

"Go! Go! Grappling hooks!" The pilot tells the other soldier as the captain's pod bursts. A recon plane above drops a grenade down. The submarine is launching its hail-fire rockets.
The submarine sends a morse code message to the crafts above. - .... . / .... .- .. .-.. -....- ..-. .. .-. . / .-. --- -.-. -.- . - ... / .... .- ...- . / -... . . -. / ..-. .. .-. . -.. .-.-.- Translated, this meant: "The hail-fire rockets have been fired."
(You may just be able to see my really dark colored soldiers and their grapple lines. Stealth.)
Ooooooo- Shields. I like it.

Hey that's kinda funny! BTW if one of the defenders took a pot-shot and hit one of my guys, he would still die. The color of them just means they can't really be seen.
declare.

"*KSSH* SHIT, BOMBER INBOUND - GET OUTTA' THERE!"
Quickly to exit through the front, and two through the back, meeting up with a sergeant and waiting for a counter-offensive. They worry about their friends on the frontline, who quickly begin firing in the general direction of the splashes - and to their surprise, spraying blood across seemingly nothing. The rear soldier quickly gets on the radio to report a missile launch, whilst the one on the roof goes into an adrenaline frenzy and fires at the small craft.
"*KzzT* We got a launch! I repeat, we have a launch - warheads unknown, is anybody there?! We have a- *KZZT*"
Why would they shoot at the splashes? Might of been enemy fire, a grenade, anything. there was no reason to believe is was something to shoot at.
Nevermind. My logic in infallible.

Apart from the one further out.

Warhead confirmed as experimental Hail-Fire rounds.
(Overview: Hail-fire rockets are different. The explosions they cause last longer and the explosions leave behind a blazing fire.)
One of the rockets detonates, toasting a soldier and destroying an air-raid light, and the other two are close behind. The soldier jumping out of the water falls dead on the ground. Surprised, the captain dives back into the water and prepares to activate his battle-suit. The pilot is also surprised by the bullets and takes evasive action as his plane takes three direct hits. The remaining pilot grapples onto the wall. The grenade the pilot threw down lands ontop of the bunker in front of an assumed juggernaut and makes a small sound that alerted the juggernaut. An assault helo arrives to help the invasion. "Prepare to launch rockets. The pilot in the helo says to the co-pilot.

bullet splashes and the splash of someone getting out of the water are different.
While the shape of the heli is good, the shading and grey interior lines is just... ugh.
Looks like a resized sprite.
Looks like he stretched dragons helicopter and added some bits from other sprites.

also do I declare or wait for Komm?
no waiting for others, kommrad seems inactive.

All searchlights turn skyward, the juggernaught laughing in the face of the grenade as it charrs him slightly and causes the structure to become unstable. The man still fires in a frenzy and the men on the beach are wandering why its so quiet.

The pilot sneaks up behind the soldier firing at the aircraft and fires a fatal shot from his silenced revolver. Although right in front of the juggernaut, he can't be seen because of the way he dresses and other things to consider like that. The juggernaut stands their, naive. The officer's suit activates and drains out the water. Two more Hail-fire rockets detonate, one destroying the cannon and the other toasting a soldier and blasting a hole in one of the walls. The helicopter lets off a volly of unguided rockets and a burst from the cannon. The officer is preparing to emerge. The aircraft has taken too many hits and is going down. Let's hope the pilot will bail out!
There's not much point to your HUD
Why use abstractions like "health" when you can just shoot someone in the head or lop off their arm?
Similarly people just generally assume units reload between turns because a turn of "reloading" is pretty boring to read.
Elite legionnaire with a heavy machine gun: 4 direct hits to kill. lots of ammo.
Elite officer (suit mode) with TLS: 6 direct hits to kill. one shot, one kill even if it isn't a head-shot. One declare to reload.
Hey Kommrad! Care to declare?
Stop trying to add new things into the system when you barely grasp it yourself.
Stop trying to add new things into the system when you barely grasp it yourself.
I grasp the system, and I'd say this match is going well. As for the hud: It's gone.
I grasp the system
Ohoho hahaha.
one shot, one kill even if it isn't a head-shot
This is how every single other unit's weapon works unless you're attacking a vehicle. If you're saying that one of your units can take a direct hit and still live, you're breaking a spoken rule and will be told otherwise.
Most likely rather gorily.
Yeah, what hud? *removed hud*
Okay it's fixed. The officer has a gun that shoots a really fancy bullet. :v:
The legionnaire shoots around 4 bullets at once rather than 3.
[editline]5th February 2011[/editline]
And for god's sake toothpick, would you please stop laughing at me? The match is going fine for my first real one.
You don't need to add all this unneeded information, we don't have to know that he shoots a "real fancy bullet" or that he shoots 4 shots instead of three, just make it up as you go along. Unit "Stats" are a waste of time.
I'm no fond of magic missiles that drop out of the sky and kill my dudes.
Well sorry, but they were launched by my submarine early in the game. Besides, I only toasted like, 3. Your juggernauts and such are still alive. Why not make your juggernaut fire off a pot-shot towards my guy who shot one of raga's soldiers with the silenced revolver?
How is nobody complaining about how you're using "invisible" soldiers?

Holy crap. I watched this match since it began, and slowly began to rage inside. Begin lurker rant:
I understand that PW isn't supposed to be 100% realistic. It's hard to depict a battle with guns that fire at thousands of feet per second without bending the rules of physics a little bit. However, your "Hail-Fire" rockets (I'm still wondering why they aren't called Hell-Fire rockets if their fire "lasts longer", but that's beside the point) are a little much. And by a little, I mean, they make me want to scream and punch your throat. You say they were "launched early in the game". You are correct sir, they were launched early in the game, ON THE TURN BEFORE THEY HIT. Jesus, everything is still early in the game, there have only been what, 5, 6, maybe 7 moves in a 4 team battle? Please stop with the pretty-much-insta-hit rockets. Do not say, "well, rockets are fast, you can't react". With all due respect, bullshit. If they are showing their bullets, which go much faster than rockets, I think it can take those "Fail-Fire" rockets a few turns before they hit. What is he going to do? Have his men jump off the roof? Realism, please.
And another thing. This statement "he can't be seen because of the way he dresses and other things to consider like that." Did anyone else slam their head into their keyboard when they saw this? Your Sam Fisher-esque character not only managed to go over the heads of the men on the beach, climb up the wall, shoot Raga's guy, and sneak past a Juggernaut, but he is also basically invisible because of his clothes. Oh, and other things to consider "like that". Again, a little realism is not difficult.
"Why not make your juggernaut fire off a pot-shot towards my guy who shot one of raga's soldiers with the silenced revolver?" To me, this is like saying, "Why not have a trained man shoot at nothing, magically hitting a body?" I commend Kommrad and Raga for not exploding after your posts Delta.
I have been lurking on these forums (specifically the PW ones, that is what brought me to FP) for a year. I am not saying I know all about PW, or that I can even play well (I've made one true sprite; I'm a perfectionist, so I always scrap the armies I make). What I am saying is that you should attempt to listen to me before you get bitched at by the other players (again). I highly, highly suggest you actually look at some of the older PW matches before you start playing in a real match. Do some one-on-ones to get warmed up (with one of the PW vets here who will critique you). Please do not respond, "Geez man, I'm just trying to play. Why do you have to flame me?" I am not flaming you (in my opinion, which I guess does not matter), I am criticizing you in order to make you better. I love watching these PW matches, because they are mostly creative and entertaining. But frankly, it is maddening to see the conventional rules of PW tossed away in favor of immaturity. Also, congratulations on having 1/14 of my total post count devoted just to you Delta.
Ok, lurker rant is over. I'll be back next year.
