It's interesting the red states will suffer more.
WTF is going on in Mineral, Nevada?
Probably more rainfall which would lead to more arable land and a rise in local agriculture
Speaking of which, it looks like we might have to switch over to growing plantains here or otherwise starve when our corn overheats and the harvest start failing
It's interesting the red states will suffer more.
My guess is due to flooding, especially in Florida, Louisiana and the Texas coast.

It's a shame the western states are larger so the extremes ( <2.5 in cities, >10 in rural zones ) are diluted and cancelled out
Nyoijizai (translation: a pun meaning "exactly as you please") in Japanese folklore this is a kind of priest's staff that, after many years, becomes a spirit. Its only power is its ability to scratch that itchy spot on your back which you just can’t seem to reach, no matter how hard you try.

Nurikabe (translation: Painted Wall) During the Edo period artists began to illustrate this creature, giving it an appearance somewhere between a grotesque, fantastic beast and a flat, white wall. Nurikabe appear mysteriously on roads late at night. As a traveler is walking, right before his or her eyes, an enormous, invisible wall materializes and blocks the way. There is no way to slip around this yokai; it extends itself as far as to the left and right as one might try to go. There is no way over it either, nor can it be knocked down. The Nurikabe served as an inspiration for the enemies of Super Mario known as Whomps and Thwomps.
love some youth subculture
Down where I come from in South East England we used to have brawls in all the seaside towns during the 60's between Mods (high class italian fashion style, moped/scooters and a love for the Who and American garage rock) and the Rockers (Leathers, american greasers that ride around on motorbikes and enjoy rockabilly/rock and roll)
These brawls basically started because all the kids were bored as shit, and having loads of money meant they could all travel down to Brighton/Hastings during the bank holidays and drink and take drugs. But its pretty fascinating to see how these cultures grew up throughout the 70's, 80's and more recent years.

if you want a decent movie to watch about this era The Who's Quadrophenia was a little story about a fictional mod who goes down to brighton and fights with rockers on one of those weekenders, The story later got adapted into a film staring Sting (The Police) and Phil Daniels, most of you other brits would know him from being the guy talking in Blur's "Park Life" music video
fun fact for those that watched the film, one of my friends pissed in the alleyway where one of the famous scenes is filmed, we were out looking for it whilst pissed and just randomly stumbled across it while looking for somewhere to piss.
Years after the mods/rockers died down the subcultures kinda went random, we ended up getting punks, goths, new waves and skinheads, the mods in the late 70's/80's basically turned into a ska/2tone subculture with the music of the Specials and Madness.

also i know the Norwegians and swedes have some subculture that has a weird fetish obsession for american muscle cars and drag racing known as Raggare

To my American eyes, mods seem way more British than rockers
Yeah i was a 60's style skinhead(not the racist type seen in movies) more the reggae loving type. Ben sherman shirts, wrangler jeans, braces. Steel toe work boots and dr martens, short but not bald hair with long sideburns.

My father was a mod back in the day, but he later became a skinhead when the ska music started getting big in the late 70's, always talks about his 18 hole dr martens and going to see Sham 69 and the Cockney Rejects back when he was growing up in Ruislip
I kinda took on that dress sense (given that my grandfather was also a proper teddy boy back in his hay day) So nowadays, I usually dress more Modish (always wear button shirts, tuck them in) nice pair of shoes either suede or my Dr Marten Brogues, and my going out stuff is usually my 2tone ska wear
Love the sub cultures, I really do think its a shame this kind of thing doesn't exist anymore, im still 19 but the cultures we have are more geared towards how you spend your night out rather than the music and the things you enjoy, I grew up in a fairly indie-alternative town, but the only other group were either chavs, or those that love their Garage/Drum and Bass

Mind, you northerners had a great deal of Soul music as well, the Northern Soul groups were pretty influential in those decades, all we had down here on the south coast really was just the Mods, every bloke I know down the pub was a mod/2tone back in their days

Platybeledon (Lit. "Flat-spear Tusk") was an elephant-like mammal that lived during the Miocene (15-10MYA). Platybeledon was fairly large, though not as big as a modern African elephant. What made Platybeledon unique was its diet, which was changed from "eats roots and swamp plants" to "strips bark off of trees" thanks to studies on wear patterns

By having a shovel for a face of course! It's hypothesized that Platybeledon would grab plants and cut them using its enormous, deformed chin that makes Jay Leno blush.
In almost every picture you find of Platybeledon, it either looks like a deflating old stoner or a screaming nightmare.
