Alright, here's the flag of my town, Kuresaaare.

Its small but the most interesting part is the coat of arms and I found a big version of it.

For some background information - the charge of the flag is the Kuressaare coat of arms a two-towered silver castle, in the gate of which is a right-facing eagle with a halo, holding a scroll with the letters I.P.E.V. - the first words of the gospel of John the Apostle - In Principio Erat Verbum - "In the beginning was the word".
The castle on the coat and the flag refers to, of course, the [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuressaare_Castle]Kuressaare Episcopal Castle[/url] a view from the [URL=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/00/Kuressaare_Castle,_2008-ekkeekke.jpg]front[/url], [url=http://www.cruiseeurope.com/sites/default/files/loss5cmykjpg_2.jpg]top close up[/url] and [URL=http://i.imgur.com/hONmeLC.jpg] top zoomed out[/URL], which was dedicated to John the Apostle, hence the eagle (one of his symbols). The castle is considered one of the best preserved medieval fortifications in Estonia and one of the things Kuressaare is famous for.

... Except that it actually isn't, the man in the center is Colonel Stig Wennertsröm: he was the first high-ranking swedish military officer to ever be convicted for treason. Using the codename "Örnen" (Eagle) he sold information regarding the Swedish Armed Forces to Soviets intelligence services (GRU), primarily regarding positions of airforce bases and aerial quick-reaction groups. He was convicted in 1964 and released 1974, a meager ten years later.
He was stripped of his rank and was originally sentenced to a lifetime of forced labour work (later turned into 20 years of forced labour) prior to his release in '74.
