Reading about the Belgian Kingdom colonizing Congo made me sad that human beings were able to commit such atrocities just over a hundred years ago, based on profeteering and racism. It's a human tragedy that matches that of the Holocaust.
Yeah, Leopold II was a complete bastard that we're ashamed of being one of our kings.
When was the last time Simon Stålenhag stuff has been posted. I'd hate to post it too frequently.

I'd love to see a video game with his stark sense of realism with the juxtaposed technology in his settings. It feels very half-life 2 to me, but with a bit more expression.

Who's Hufsa?
Who's Hufsa?
A character in a popular Scandinavian TV adoptation of a Finnish comic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moomin (animated by a japanese studio, funnily enough. ] A woman glances at a document before entering it into an IBM 029 keypunch machine. Up until the early 1980's often the most practical and cost efficient method to input data into a computer was by means of punched cards. The keypunch itself has no connection to the computer at all and itself contains no computer. It is strictly an electromechanical device with the sole purpose of loading, punching and stacking the 80 column hollerith punch cards which by the end of their lifetime were nearly half a century old. An operator loads decks of cards into a punched card reader. Because the operation of the computer was often quite expensive it was recommended that multiple jobs be processed at a time, hence the term "Batch Processing". Each person's deck of cards was separated by a specially punched card which indicated to the computer where a deck started (BOF) and ended. (EOF) The read data was then transferred either to tape or disk for later processing once the computer had finished processing data from the previous job.

The grass turned frosty and died, and people brought out lanterns and pitchforks and even guns to protect themselves. You never saw her do anything to warrant the fear, but you knew she was not to be underestimated.
Wasn't that character actually just sad and lonely though?

Wow I forgot that they existed.
I still have an enormous collection of his books. One job I was on and the art department was having absolute hell getting some things to iterate out, so I scanned some of his good stuff and said "hey guys, maybe weekend bullshit this from the ground up" and was promptly given super fattening cake on monday as thanks. Afaic the man is a goddamn genius.
did not realize the size sorry
Did you seriously just post an 82MB gif?
