So my great great great.. however many greats to get to the Civil War... Grandfather was in the Civil war, and became a state legislator afterwards. Immediately after, in the TN state capitol in Nashville, they were voting on whether or not to make the slaves american citizens. Well it's the south and right after the war so not many wanted to do it. After heated debates, those that didn't want to make them american citizens started to get up to walk out, my relative included. Unfortunately, there were Union guards all over and they were NOT going to let them leave without voting. One guard actually took aim and shot at my relative as he tried to leave
To this day that bullet hole remains

I like how he assumes the viewer isn't an idiot and doesn't explain things that don't need to be explained. Most documentaries would have constant narration explaining the obvious shit - we can [I]see[/I] that he's plastering over it with mud, we don't need a narrator to say that. It gives a really natural feel to his videos.
And then when he does need to explain something, it's brief and to the point. Like in that video about making poisonous beans edible - explain why you're doing something that may not be obvious, and then shut up so we can just watch. Or explain things that can't be shown, like how they taste.

I thinking about making a thread about it, but I'm not sure it would be worth it since it likely wouldn't get much activity since it takes between 10-18 hours to generate images unless you pay 2 euros to decrease the amount of time it takes to 15 minutes.
