Apparently schools only used one type of chair ever.
[i]May 2 1986 After seven years of construction the gates open and the 1986 Worlds Fair officially opens in Vancouver British Columbia. Out of the 14 million visitors expected for the fair to pay even by the end over 22 million people had passed through the entrances. So many in fact that by July the supply of Expo merchandise had run out. Everybody was there. Even Archie and the gang made an appearance in a special edition of the Archie comics. However with all its successes it was to be the end. Since Expo 86 there has not been another worlds fair anywhere in North America and there are no plans to bring another one in the future. It's not unfeasible that it could've fallen off of something in transit. Or dumped as garbage. Or swept away in a storm/tsunami. There's all sorts of unusual things on the seafloor.
it was probably just on a cruise ship. It's not like those chairs are exclusive to schools. Hell some cruise ships even have daycare centers on board.

So, I made a thread on SH section about Chinese hell, so maybe you folks will be interested. In chinese tradition, Heaven is reserved for gods, and Hell is for everyone Basically there are 2 hells, the good one, and the bad one And for the Bad one there's 18 levels And for each level you have a judge for whatever crimes you commit And appropriate punishments for certain crimes, like if you lie to your parents, you get your tongue cut out But you are allowed to drink some tea from some old grandma and you get to reincarnate but the tea makes you forget everything I know, we got one crazy hell In Singapore, we have a theme park exhibition that is entirely dedicated to the Chinese version of hell: [t]https://gowiththeebb.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/dsc_0682.jpg[/t] [t]https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3949/15388300310_8aa8a19193_o.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.cdn.travel.cnn.com/sites/default/files/styles/604x453_gallery/public/2013/09/17/inline-haw-par-hell.jpg?itok=8N7f7lM6[/t] [t]http://whenonearth.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/fourth-court-ground-by-large-stone-ten-courts-of-hell-haw-par-villa-singapore-690x517.jpg[/t] Here is the punishment you'll get:
Mountain of Knives: Sinners are thrown off cliffs and land on mountainous terrain with sharp blades sticking out. Some depictions show offenders climbing trees with knives or sharp thorns sticking out of trunks and branches. Cauldron torture: Sinners are fried in oil cauldrons. Dismemberment: Sinners are dismembered by various means, including sawing, slicing into half, mashing/pounding into pulp, being crushed by rocks/boulders, being run over by vehicles, etc. Grinding torture: Sinners are put into a grinding machine and ground into a bloody pulp. Burning: Sinners are set aflame or cast into infernos. Paolao torture: Sinners are stripped naked and tied to a large hollow metal cylinder with a fire lit at its base. Boiling liquid torture: Boiling liquids are forced down sinners' throats or poured on parts of their bodies. Tortures involving removal of body parts or organs: Tongue ripping, eye gouging, teeth extraction, heart digging, disembowelment, skinning, etc. Ice World: Sinners are frozen in ice. Some depictions show unclothed sinners suffering frostbite in an icy world. Their bodies eventually fall apart or break into pieces. Scales and hooks torture: Sinners are pierced with hooks and hung upside-down. Some depictions show sinners having nails hammered into their bodies. Pool of Blood: Sinners are cast into a pool of filthy blood, where they drown. Blood spills from all bodily orifices. Tortures involving animals: Sinners are trampled by cattle, gored by animals with horns or tusks, mauled or eaten by predators, stung or bitten by poisonous species, etc. Avīci: The period of suffering in this chamber is the longest. It is reserved for sinners who have committed heinous crimes, including the Five Grave Offences.
Not filial to your mum or dad? Fuck you, go to hell
That expo is the reason I am alive. My dad came here from Calgary for the Expo and met my mother and had me :v:
That's awesome, I love stories like that. Both my parents used to work as security guards (same company, different departments) and only met because my dad's department were one guard short and my mom's department needed five spare uniforms. My mom was the guard who switched department and thus they met eachother. I imagine that's what it's like in Alberta, Canada right now.

Is that just a novelty thing or would it actually have practical use?
Is that just a novelty thing or would it actually have practical use?
I'd imagine novelty, you'd probably just take the amount you need up with a pipette?
There are uses for vessels that are very small in volume (1 mL or even less sometimes), but in my experience none of them have been beakers, usually they're eppendorf tubes or cuvettes, which are easier to deal with than a beaker.
we got one crazy hell [t]https://gowiththeebb.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/dsc_0682.jpg[/t]
All of this only seems to reflect the cruelties of man. And not so much the wrath of Gods themselves.
