There was always a Swedish - Russian tensions since hundreds of years back and media here is always "THE RUSSIANS ARE BUIDING STRONGER MILITARY!!!" then the fearmongering begins.

I would expect a democracy violating the borders of a democracy - and an ally - is a bit more acceptable than a dictatorship like Russia. Not totally acceptable, but a bit more.

Not really, aside from controlling Gotland (which isn't much of an asset anyway) there's not really anything they could benefit from invading Sweden.
Problem is that alot of old-timers here still have the Cold War mindset when the SAF asked people to report suspicious activity out of fear that it's russian assault divers or airborne troops. They completely forget the bigger picture that Russia has nothing to gain from attacking and even though they'e often portrayed as evil they're not somekind of movie villain who do shit for the sake of ~being evil hurr~.
I personally agree that we need to increase the strength of the SAF back to how it was during the Cold War but not because of Russia, Sweden needs a strong defense to protect its people against all manners of threats and as of now we can't, at least not in the long run.

The first production tank with a turbine engine also made dramatic departures from contempoary post-WW2 tank design. The turret was removed and the gun was built right into the hull. Controls for the entire tank were given to the gunner who could adjust the suspension and used the tank itself to aim the gun. It wasn't much lower than the Soviet tanks it would have presumably faced, but in a hull down static position it could lower itself an additional 13cm. it also had an autoloader, meaning the entire tank could remain combat effective with just two people.

Fun fact, my friend owns one of the uniforms from one of the men of the Lost Battalion. He paid something like $200 for it at a gun auction. It's got all the documents to prove it's legit, too.
