People generally don't think about the historical/restore value of something when it's brand new. Good example is the RMS Olympic. Which was the first ship of the Olympic-Class Liner, which is of course, what the ill-fated Titanic and Britannic were. She sailed for some time well after the Titanic disaster. Was eventually sold and scrapped like all ships are at some point. We could've kept it as a museum ship or something.

I seriously hope the same thing doesn't happen to the SS United States.
A cruise line not too long ago said they were surveying the ship for restoration, but they backed out, so now its future is once again uncertain.

Couldn't find any other place to share this. This is a war comp vid I made for school 2 years back, because we had to make a music video and I disliked the teacher, so I made this. Tell me what you think.

this might just be the poor resolution, but it's so washed out, the texture makes the parts further away look like a painting

"fetichist" is such an odd archaic term considering what it evolved into for modern vernacular.
before: religious weirdos that worshiped idols, statues, and/or totems.
after: sexual weirdos
we prefer "freaky-deaky" tyvm
The island city of Male, Maldives. More than 90,000 people live on the heavily urbanized Male Island, which covers less than two square kilometers of area. Better visit it now because that whole city will be gone next century.

I attempted to make that place in Cities: Skylines last year. It didn't go well; pumping raw sewage into the sea might fly in real life but that game just won't have it.

I suppose you could scatter water towers throughout the city
Also what if they just keep building up to offset sea level rise and we can scuba dive the undercity in 200 years

that's the oldest lunchbox pc i've ever seen. they could have chosen a better color than RED for their monochrome display, though. amber is usually easy on the eyes.
Most displays are green because in sunlight red is incredibly hard to make out. Guess they learned that the hard way.

What if you are red-green colourblind? Does it become both incredibly hard and incredibly easy to see?

It's a Gas Plasma display. Not LCD. They naturally have a color shade between red and yellow.
There is a rather large ice flow going on the river Tisza right now and animals that try to cross it create some pretty dramatic scenes:

There was an ice dam on the river which basically collected any floating trash for days now, most of which were grabbed by ice from the riverbank, so it's not that like usually.
Speaking of grabbing, this ice flow caused another dramatic event to unravel:

The detonation of geological location "Ripple Rock", April 1958.
The outcropping which sat nine feet below the waterline at low tide had for almost a century been a major navigational hazard, claiming both ships and sailors. For three years prior to the blast the Canadian government funded the plan to dig beneath the narrows and fill Ripple Rock with 1300 tons of TNT.
The Detonation was broadcast live coast-to-coast by the Canadian Broadcast Corporation.
