I wrote a paper on the winter war actually, the sheer incompetence of the red army is pretty astounding when you look further into it.
For instance the Red Army commanders reported to Stalin that they were surprised to find forests in finland. And Stalin reportedly almost burst a blood-vessel when he was told that the Finns often had the audacity to attack during the Red army's afternoon nap. (yes that was a thing)

It's a nuclear bunker-busted designed to bury itself in the ground. This reduces fallout and reduces the yield necessary to destroy the target. This weapon with it's 80 kt yield is supposed to partially replace the 1200 kt B83 bomb. It's a really big difference.

Here's some history behind those familiar crosses, one gold, two blue, that are planted alongside highways throughout the southern United States.
While I'm not particularly religious, I find them a fascinating piece of Americana and a comforting sight to see when travelling abroad.
