The drought's been over for a while now
Very inefficient usage of space for parking.
considering where this thing is planned to be built, i don't think they feel too bad about letting efficiency play second fiddle to rich vanity.

Looks like something out of Red Alert 3.
Very innefeciant usage of space for parking. Though I suppose it makes it more private if you're in a campervan. Looks very cool though.
If it's in the middle of the desert with nothing but sand for miles around, I don't think they need to worry about wasting space.

There were a lot of storms in California this winter, like something out of Biblical proportions. Enough water fell that the drought was literally fixed in the span of a few months; it got so intense that the emergency spillway of the Oroville dam broke:

Here's another picture that'll give you a sense of the scale of the hole the storms tore in the spillway:

Mother Nature is really weird these days.
Why does it look like you took it in the 1950s
Yeah when I was scrolling I was expecting it to be some Time Magazine bullshit from like 1954 about some happenings at an Airport. Was getting ready to read the quote from Wiki about the event and or photographer.

I guess that means you did a good job.

I remember having to run down that corridor last December.
My flight to LAX was an hour late so I had little time to get to my connecting flight. I was going through the TSA bullshit when I heard the final boarding call with my name in it. I had no time to put my shoes back on, so I ended up running down this corridor in my socks, frantically hoping there was enough time. It felt like I had run a marathon by the time I hit the end.
Ended up going to the wrong gate twice before finding the right one. Once I had finally boarded the plane a flight attendant congratulated me said I had only 30 seconds to spare.

LAX airport is a nightmare of airports, the layout is totally outdated and extremely inconvenient for passengers who need to transfer flights. There's no proper way to get from 1 terminal to the next, so you end up having to run for it

Add a couple of burning chimneys and a pyramid and you've got yourself Blade Runner.

Are there any translations available? I'm keen for some ww2 era shitposts.
LAX is one of those airports where from above you can clearly see each time they expanded because the design style differs so much form expansion to expansion.
Are there any translations available? I'm keen for some ww2 era shitposts.
There's really nothing that interesting from what I can tell. A lot of it is just people's names and their origin city, with the current date.
"From Leningrad to Berlin, 10.5.45"
"Shur MD Batumi, 22.5.45"
"Kiev-Berlin, Rasotkin"
"Michurinsk-Berlin, 10-5-45"
"From Moscow to Berlin, 10.5.45, Manor Yakovlev"
There's also a "we are victorious", and a mention of Stalin in the back.

It's all names and cities.
