Look at this pompous waste of space, this primordial sludge in the shape of a vaguely-human looking animate foreskin. The emperor wasn't considered a monarch in Rome, at least not for the first few of them. In fact, Rome still considered themselves a Republic much past Augustus winning power.
Rome really fell apart once it became an empire. The Julio-Claudian dynasty was a bunch of self absorbed, inbred morons who couldn't see past their own deformed noses. Rome's emperors were so fucking bad that the Praetorian guard killed more emperors than anyone else, in 20 years the guards killed 40 emperors. Imagine sucking so bad your own sworn protectors murder you. The only real thing the five "good" emperors had going for them was they weren't gibbering fucking idiots and they actually thought logically like real human beings. Oh and Trajan, #2 of the "five good emperors" and the so called optimus princeps (best ruler) was renowned for ruling Rome at its greatest extent and allegedly removing the Dacian people from existence.
Look at this pompous waste of space, this primordial sludge in the shape of a vaguely-human looking animate foreskin. This complete fucking Narcissus given flesh, this kinslayer and rapist of liberty. For a state whose defining moment of glory was overthrowing the shackles of a foreign monarch they sure didn't have any qualms about subjecting other states to that tyranny.
The only sad thing about Rome's downfall is that it didn't happen sooner. Rome should have been destroyed when Rome dared to provoke Mithridates VI into war.
Overall 10/10 rome was a pretty good state
The same can be said about any ancient civilization. The Egyptian Pharaohs are generally believed to have done a lot of inbreeding as well. I don't know about the Chinese Dynasties and Japanese Clans though, although I wouldn't be surprised if they did it as well.
It was all about "Keeping it in the family" and I also believe that some societies and cultures believed that inbreeding helped keep a family strong(and there's probably people that still do).

Well yeah. I realize that everything is grey but its fun to deviate into a directed rant towards Rome once in a while.

This is The Dying Gaul (more accurately The Dying Galatian) this marble statue is a Roman copy of the original which would have been solid bronze. The statue came from Pergamum, a greek city in what is now western Turkey that has been sadly forgotten in the popular consciousness. Pergamum was known as a centre of learning, commerce, and thanks to this statue; a powerful state. Attalus I commissioned this statue after his victory over the Galatians (a group of celtic peoples who lived in what is now Ankara, Turkey. I mean how bloody cool is that?)some time between 230 and 220 BC. Much to everyone's surprise, the piece he commissioned was not one of Pergamese triumph, it was not a piece showing Attalus' status as a god or anything like that. It was a statue of a young man of fighting age, bleeding from a stab wound in the abdomen, too weak to stand, slowly dying on his own shield.
It served as a tragic reminder of the human cost on both sides in war. While Pergamum celebrated its victory over its enemies, there were people languishing in defeat.

Here's a detail of the distinctly Celtic face, the moustache with no beard, the torc around his neck, and the wild hair. When painted I'm sure the face would be one of profound despair.
I thought this statue was naked to symbolize something, but after reading Wikipedia, many Galatians actually fought naked.

Probably why the Romans won and it depicts him bleeding out from a stab wound.

Galatian Nakedness: 0

Here's a picture of some strawberries I picked at my fiance's house. I've never grown strawberries before (I don't care to eat them), so I'm quite proud how well they came out.

I'm also growing cucumbers, carrots, peas, corn, bell peppers, sage, oregano, culantro, cilantro, and radishes if anyone wants me to post more pictures.

Well there is a big difference between the content too, it's like comparing the quality of beer and a car
Nice, I'd like to grow stuff in my garden to, we have 2x2 meter square for that but its there's two bushes and a lot of grass that I can't be bothered with, and I don't have the tools to clear it either :(

Same thing happened in my region with peach trees. The peach economy in my state was brought to its knees when we had a warm January and February, sparking an early bloom, only to be killed off by a frigid March.

You'll only need three tools: A saw to cut down the bushes, shovel to dig up the bush roots, and a hoe to till the grass out. After that, it's just a matter of putting seeds in and remembering to water and weed often.
My apple tree keeps getting what looks like boils or bubble on the leaves and the flower buds fall off. What's going on?

Sounds like a fungus or a bacterial infection, but I don't know fruit trees at all.
There are websites you can look up different diseases and afflictions of plants, most come with photos as well to compare what's going on with yours.

I have a few more photos, but not much of the planes flying. The ones here in this post are pretty much the only ones that didn't come out blurred to hell.
I wish I still had the pictures of Liberty Belle I took at an airshow a year before her crash. I got a tour of the whole aircraft. :( Old warbirds are always a treat.

I'm also growing cherry tomatoes (two plants), which I forgot to take a picture of. They're next to the bell peppers, one you can see in the image. I had grown radishes there prior to harvesting them. At my fiance's house, I'm growing strawberries, corn, a few more peas and bell peppers, potatoes, and various herbs.
Pretty cool stuff.
I've long wanted to grow my own stuff - I have this weird.. fantasy that someday I would be able to support myself. Pure fantasy though. As it is every plant I touch dies...
Will be cool to see those carrots grow up, are they the thin ones or the thick ones?

They are "Burpee #A1 Hybrid" carrots. Whether they are thin or thick I do not know, this is my first time ever growing carrots.
This is the first time I've grown anything from seed, as well, save for the peas (those peas are 2nd generation that I harvested last year). Everything else I normally buy as seedlings from a nursery (I did that for the tomatoes, but all else were grown from seed this time).
It's not that unrealistic to be able to support yourself through gardening. It takes a little practice, is all. I spent a lot of time reading gardening books, which helped. Majority of the care you need to give a plant once it's in the ground is watering it at least twice a week and to weed it once or twice a week. You probably wouldn't be able to 100% depend on a garden for food, but the more you grow, the easier it'll be on your wallet for groceries - and give you an excuse to enjoy the outdoors.
There are some, though, that support themselves wholly on what they grow, whether by selling their produce or eating it directly. You ought to check out Curtis Stone's "Urban Farming" youtube channel, he runs an entire farm in the suburbs of his city in Canada, growing in his front and back yard as well as his neighbors.
Both my mom's and dad's parents have gardens in their backyards and grew tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, carrots, green beans, and strawberries.
Unfortunately though my mom's parents' health has forced them to stop and their garden is now overgrown with weeds. My dad's parents' are still going strong.
I think my parents would love to have a garden in our backyard as well, but I think money and time prevents them as well as the nature of our backyard(hilly and tends to turn into a swamp when it rains heavily).
