If I'm not mistaken, a reference to Holbein's The Ambassadors.

The only thing worse than stepping in water with socks on, is stepping on wet fluffy carpet. Eugh.
Yup, my bathroom used to have carpet just like that.

One of the people who owned our house before us placed carpet in the kitchen, another room you don't want carpet in, and it's nasty as hell, but we can't afford to replace it right now.

Arguably worse given how much more crap drops on the floor in the kitchen.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: the 80's (Japanese) automobiles have the best dashboard aesthetics ever.

80s/90s cars in general are the best as long as you ignore american cars

The 80s definitely had some great looking cars, but I wouldn't say they were the greatest.

I think if any one decade could be said to have the most consistently good looking cars it'd be the 1930s.
From the low end:

To the high end:

The 40s and 50s are close contenders. There are kickass cars from the 60s on for sure, but by and large, cars have only gotten more and more plain.
Might be about time to point out that there's a thread specifically for cool cars

I also caught a glimpse of a repatched Southern Pacific locomotive(not sure what type as I didn't get a clear look at it) passing by on the line that runs near the museum.
Also not pictured:
Various trolleys(some of which they operate on certain days between April and October)
World's biggest tank car
Some weird looking military locomotive
One of the first tunnels cut west of the Mississippi
They were also getting ready to have a car show there as well so there were a lot of people bringing their old style cars and there was a building that contained a lot of old cars as well, but I didn't get any pictures of those, but my dad did.
Also got to take a tour of a few passenger cars.
Some of the locomotives they had there were the last of the kind including the bi-polar Milwaukee Road engine you see in the back in the picture of the NYC electric locomotive.
You also never realize how big a locomotive is until you're standing right next to one.

anyone got more of these? asking for a friend
