Most countries in the Americas were eventually part of the war effort, Mexico and Brazil were the only nations that fought overseas. Pictured above are only a handful of propaganda posters produced by the Mexican government during the war.
Reenactors of the Boys Militia Company of Williamsburg
50 young troops carried bright blue muskets into the American Revolutionary War. When a group of young men who called themselves the Boys Company heard about the events at Lexington and Concord they broke into the town magazine at Williamsburg, setting off a spring loaded gun trap which injured 2 or 3 of the boys, however they still stole 50 blue muskets, which were intended to be traded to local Natives, and used them to march and guard the town perimeter during the war. The reason for the gun's bright color is unclear but it was most likely to cover up the inferior workmanship on the stock (as indian trade muskets were built to a lesser quality than military guns), or to make them appeal more to the Natives, who often decorated their guns with brass and paint.
That hurt to watch, but that was really well handled and the conditions were as good as they could get for this sort of thing (slick runway). She'll probably be back flying in no time. I think it was this plane: https://catalina-pby.nl/

How fast can it go?
How fast can it go?
According to wikipedia, 232 km/h or 144 mph.
According to wikipedia, 232 km/h or 144 mph.
but it would be a stylish, passionate, Italian 144 MPH
If anyone was curious (I was) they posted a picture of the damage and it doesn't look severe. If I'm understanding this interview right, they were able to jack the plane up and get the landing gear to deploy, then taxi'd her under her own power back to the hangar. They think the nose gear doors got jammed during an earlier water landing. I think the ETA for return to flight is 3 weeks! Maybe I misunderstood but these are tough old planes and they regularly went through worse during the war. Probably nothing but an abundance of caution is keeping the plane from flying right now. He was only 14 when the war started, wow. Reminds me of that photo of that civil war vet photographed next to a jet plane.

well they made like 500 of them so good luck I kinda like the idea that you could drive around in this extraordinarily rare and expensive car and everyone will take a look and assume it's some sort of chrysler dynasty

Cars aren't designed anymore. They throw a lot of string on a paper, and put wheels on it. Fucking modern cars are so ugly.
I don't like old regular cars.

it's a graphics car
I miss edges on cars.
Edges are why I like the old WRX Imprezza's and not the new rounded ones. The new ones look like fucking Corolla.
