Or do what I did:
4-5-Ask a very nice lady out on a date-6
In a row on the same night etc
I never tried watching them in order but I recommend it. After all it's how the story goes. Some part will be later less shocking but still powerful. The prequels have few annoying things but overall they are watchable and entertaining. 4, 5 and 6 are just classics.
4 5 6 stop
if you MUST watch 1 2 3, pretend they're like completely unrelated to Star Wars and they become alright

First half of 1, get bored. Skip 2, and then watch the rest.
Personally, I liked 1, 2 and 3. What's wrong with them?
4 - 5 - 6.
That's it.

Watch this:

I'm not embedding it because it's in parts, so click it and follow the rest at the side.

I saw part of it, can't be arsed to watch the rest. I don't know if it's the same case here but most people seem to hate them because they're mostly CG.
Or how about the shitty acting? And the shitty dialogue. And the shitty plot.
1, 2, 3.
I think we can agree that if the acting was better in Attack of the Clones, nobody would complain. The plot is actually really good, and does a good job of carrying off where The Phantom Menace left off. I still think they should have gone with a different title than phantom menace, but it makes sense to call it that.
i'd watch them in the episode order they were made, so 4,5,6,1,2,3 because you see the main stuff in 4,5,6 then you see how it all happened in 1,2,3. Don't know why everyone hates 1,2,3 they were very good, personally i like them better then the 4,5,6 even though i grew up on them. I'm more of a action junkie so the first 3 were good.
FUCKING CONFUSING OPINION
i agree. although i like to watch it in the order 1,2,3,4,5,6
I've been told reliably by a number of cast and crew members that the order which is considered to make most sense is: 4,5,1,2,3,6. When I said, whhhhhaaaaatttt! I was informed that at the end of 5 we learn of Luke's parentage and 1,2,3 are then viewed as a flashback through the eyes of the viewer, strange but it oddly works.
Can't stand the prequels so I'm not going to watch them like ever. Lucas lost me when he decided THX 1138 needed CGI dogs.
The effects are retty enough, but it's like watching something directed by M. Night Shyamalan. No substance.
wait wait, he went back to THX 1138 and added CGI?
bahahahahahahahahahahahahaha oh george
It doesn't really matter which trilogy you watch first, you're going to spoil a significant part of the other. But watching 4-5-6 then 1-2-3 spoils it less.

Yeah but 1-2-3 is already shit so spoiling it doesn't matter.
At first thought I was going to say "4-5-6-1-2-3 of course!" but then I thought that if someone really hasn't seen any of the movies, they should probably watch them from 1 to 6. The story might be more interesting for them since they don't already know what is ultimately going to happen.
Except the prequels spell it out with large fucking letters spoiling all the good stuff from the OT.

you mean prequils.
Except the prequels spell it out with large fucking letters spoiling all the good stuff from the OT.
Not really, the main problem with the prequels is the only plot was:
"Link into episode 4".
If they were released in fucking order they would all be nearly equally loved. Of course the later 3 would be loved more, but the hate around 1-2-3 wouldn't exist and the question of how to watch wouldn't exist.

Yeah, the best you can get out of the prequels is a nice 'Ohh, so that's how that happened', or 'Ohh, that's what he was like when he was younger', even if it is pretty underwhelming. If you watch the prequels first you're depriving yourself of the nice surprises that occur in the originals.

Oh yeah, when are the star wars blurays coming out?

Phantom Menace wasn't that horrid. I'm saying this from experience. I have always loved Starwars like western lovers love The Man With No Name. Maul was pointless and Anakin was played by a horrid actor but it was BEARABLE. Didn't meet the Starwars bar of excellence but a decent movie. Clones is another story. I won't even discuss the first half of that movie. Horrid. The third can be called part of the master piece, but we are so disappointed with the first two the best we can do is acknowledge it did in fact happen. I like Phantom and Revenge of the Sith. Clones is the only one...I hate it.
I would watch Episode 1, then 3(it isn't bad, some of the acting/lines are though) then the entire trilogy.
Watch them in the order they were released also watch the first edition Vhs tapes for 4-5-6 if you want to see a good movie and not some shitty touched up crap.
Han Solo shot first.

3 is horrible. Worst possible handling of the subject in every way imaginable.
You know, if Hayden Christiansen hadn't played Anakin, I think people wouldn't have hated on the prequels so much. Never before has one actor been able to encompass the entire spectrum of "whiny bitch" without trying.
I think Anakin would have looked like a giant bitch no matter who played him. He was fucked up.
Meh, maybe once that guy who does the amazing hour and thirty minute review of Episode 3, I'll realize how much it sucks but the Yoda/Lord Sidious and Obi Wan/Anakin battle made up for it.
The whole character of Anakin is just badly done, form the acting to the scripting to the relationships he cultivates, it's so bad.
