Crysis: On a military evac mission OH FUCK ALIENS!
Far Cry 2: On a regime change mission OH FU...Wait.
The Trigens weren't alien, though.
If you want to run it better maxed out, edit your config to use DX9, the Crysis DX10 binaries are really old which makes the game run really slow compared to Warhead in DX10 at the same settings.

Oh and if you're feeling lucky, boost up the shadowmap resolution to 4096^2 like I did.
One if the first things to install when I installed Windows 7. Doesn't work anymore though :\
After Reformatting I reinstalled it to benchmark my performance.
I had a ton of fun on Max settings, nothing feels better than to beat up North Koreans with sunbeams everywhere.
:v:
wat I loved about crysis was how many different gameplay styles it threw at you
stealth action combat, vehicle combat, then it turns into a tank war sim, then it turns into a goddamn flight sim, then it turns to zero g holy f, games packin'
I play on my Fermi 450, and it only runs on Low @ 60FPS
You're trolling right?
The 450gts has better specs than the 9800gt, and my 9800gt runs it at high (not very high mind you, xp with dx9 can't do very high), 1152x768 native (lol crt monitor), 2xAA, 30-40 fps.
When i chuck everything to low i get 80+ fps, and if i'm in a foliage free area then sometimes it gets 100+.

Yeah, he is probably joking, trolling, or his computer has some major issues/crappy hardware aside from GPU.
My computer probably can't even run the menu cleanly, but I'm not complaining.
It's a pretty game, and I'm sure it was fun.
Crysis was oodles of fun, right up until the final boss fight. It's a lovely game- The final boss and the VTOL level were the only bits I wasn't fond of.
I just wish the multiplayer was as quasi-tactical as the singleplayer. The multiplayer felt kinda tacked on to me.
If Cryengine got Rockstar's euphoria physics, it should be required by law that every game be developed on the resulting engine
Eh I liked Far Cry 2 more than this for some reason.
Crysis plays well on my PC, but not silky smooth. If it's because it's unoptimized.
This game cost me (actually my dad :v:) $1760. After I beat Dead Rising 2 I'm going to play through this. It's so much fucking fun and the multiplayer was fucking insane holy shit I can't wait for crysis 2
PC classic my ass, Crysis was fun until Crytek decided to go "hurr you're goin 2 b killin alienz nao!!!"
This.
The first half of Crysis great! The second half is... not great.

Quoted for Truth.
If the game was just the 1st half, Crysis would have been so much better. Aliens, like the Trigen ruined the game.
I got to the alien part and I crashed
:saddowns:
I fucking love the Crysis soundtrack.
I love how those aliens look
My favourite part in Crysis Warhead is when you get trapped a mine of some sort, the fights in there are nice and intense.

Seriously. I honestly don't give a shit about the story since I had so much fun playing anyway. I think Crytek should just release a Crysis game, that focuses solely on what made Crysis fun. Big open levels against human enemies.
They should call it Crysis: Fun Map Pack. Basically it's 8 hours + of just playing through a million different levels, no real story. Have the story just be assassinate some general or some shit. Of course the difficulty should be ramped up and they should throw in some Co-Op for good measure. Best game ever.

Follow the instructions and they might add more unlocks.

The action-shooter and graphics aspects of the game are strong enough to make the game stand on its own (the crowd accepting somewhat shallow games with great graphics is undeniably large), but one can't reasonably deny that Crysis would have been much a better a much better game - a classic - had it put up an above-medic performance in all the other important departments. I too felt a bit let down over the absence of huge non-linear levels you could explore, the vehicle chapter aside I can recall only two (the bay with the patrol boats early on & the harbor).
I loved playing like one would play the predator in AvP: constantly stalking people, cloaking whenever I can, and shooting shit from far away to watch everyone freak out.
Aliens ruined the game for me though.
Just like farcry.

Yeah. I think Crytek really dropped the ball on this one. I loved it because it played so well, but had they seriously focused on some more areas this game would have been praised until eternity. Imagine this game, but with a story on par with the Half-Life series.
That being said I had another idea for a game. Crysis: Vietnam. Imagine the Crysis engine and shooting mechanics in a Vietnam setting, no aliens, squad control (modders have this down pretty well, imagine if Crytek actually did it), huge open levels, etc.

Oh and an obligatory in-game radio. Listen to Fortunate Son while mowing down opponents and whatever vegetation lies in your path.

I really think you guys should check out the custom maps and mods made for Crysis, most of them focus around killing koreans, hell there as even a vietnam style map called full metal jacket I think.
Custom maps and mods are a must for all crysis players.
Yeah, but I really want a full game made like this.
Still I need to find my Crysis disk so I can get to that.
Crysis was, and always will be, a very tight shooter. Yes, the later levels weren't amazing, but that never stopped the experience up until then to be fun. If you think Crysis was a boring shooter, then you were playing it wrong. No other first person shooter has given me the opportunity to sprint past a group of 3 NK soldiers, grab one of them on the way and launch them into the forest with a strength mode augmented throw. No other first person shooter has given me the ability to shoot out of the water like a shark with a speed mode augmented launch and fire off a few shots onto a boat, killing the driver, leaving the gunner at my mercy. No other game has made me feel so bad ass dropping down from a shipping container whilst cloaked, only to switch to strength mid-way and punch an NK soldier in the face before I even hit the ground. And its visuals are still amazing, a lot of people say its graphics are its only saving grace, but I say bullshit. A game isn't solely about its graphics, but Crysis came with both amazing graphics and a shitload of fun gameplay if you managed to think outside the box for a bit. Crysis is just one of those games where the graphics don't make or break the game, but really compliments it in a way that increases its enjoyability.
I liked crysis.
No they're not they're shit, why go "here you go kids, have a nice jungle to explore" then go "HAHA JUST KIDDING HAVE FUN IN AN ALIEN SHIP LOL!" the ending was bullshit as well let's have a character go insane oh here you go have a weapon that can fire nuclear rounds.
The multiplayer was garbage all people did was cloak and then camp with a sniper rifle, Crytek should be ashamed for ripping off C&C Renegades multiplayer and then producing such tripe.
I've always had my suspicions about you. Now it's official. You're a fucking idiot.
