Raiden has an ass most women are jealous of though.
Kojima over-sexualises men far more than women, and the most extreme thing I can think of that sexualised a woman would be quiet, a woman which we honestly don't know why she dresses that way. For all we know, she was burned alive and she's a wandering spirit, blaming somebody for reasons you don't have yet is retarded.
metal gear solid is the only game that genuinely makes me question my sexual orientation I think we should applaud it for how overwhelmingly homosexual it is
metal gear solid is the only game that genuinely makes me question my sexual orientation I think we should applaud it for how overwhelmingly homosexual it is
Heh no it has women who show a bit more skin. That's the hip thing to hate right now.
Theres literally a moment in MGS2 where your pretty boy male character is stripped nude and forced to run around covering his implied-to-be-massive-cock.
no, for a split-second you see that he in fact has no penis whatsoever
those straps would do you no good on any kind of harness. they're not in the right places. unless military harnesses for things function entirely differently than civilian variations upon that.
It's a STABO harness which was used to extract personnel by rope from a helicopter while leaving their arms free to use a weapon. It was useful for extracting through jungle canopy during the Vietnam war. I'm sure there were a number of complaints about the crotch straps riding up, because the modern version (SPI/E) uses leg loops instead

I will have to admit, the Metal Gear series is pretty heavily sexual in nature. I can't recall any other video game where you get an achievement for allowing a character to be physically overpowered and kissed nonconsentually. That isn't brought up in this video, though. And I get the feeling that may be because the situation is male on male
Good luck getting Hideo to care
I just had a moment of zen. I was going to write a wall of text pointing out how ridiculous arguing about sexism using fictional video game characters and their personalities, and the events happening in the games themselves, is. I was going to point out how this sort of meaningless symbolic "action" from a literal nobody human being, like the majority of people on this planet are, would not accomplish a goddamn thing-- except maybe make this dude feel happy and content with himself and his decision in a narcissistic slacktivist kind of way (which isn't unusual anymore; lots of people are this way). I was also going to point out how much more sense it would make to attempt to address a real issue involving sexism like pay inequality between men and women or (of course) sexual harassment, or any other such number of relevant topics. Go outside or something dude. Protest or do something out here in the real world about real world issues. Holy fuck.
Just another attention whoring games journalist trying to look important. Nothing new.

Holy fuck.
what an utterly worthless statement, dude. don't act like you're above this guy because you came up with a half-assed way to dismiss his entire argument, because anyone can do that. you might as go ahead and criticize everyone on this forum who complains about games because there are REAL issues out there! game doesn't have an FOV slider? orphans are dying in africa! gross DLC business model? what about the starving north koreans? creepy armor bikinis? acid attacks in the middle east! your posts, and my posts, are just as worthless as his video is, so get off your high horse, and try to come up with an argument that's more developed than "there's real sexism out there!" you, along with the people coming up with EPIC arguments such as "fuck you SJW" are making everyone who disagrees with him look like a fucking idiot with all these baseless attacks on his character. and you're also probably driving away potential MGS fans that might have an issue with the series' portrayal of women. i definitely that wouldn't want to be part of a community that said "fuck you" when you even dare to bring up how creepy something like the post-fight sequences with the B&B corps are. this guy's video has a lot of issues, though, so don't go on and assume i agree with him 100%. a lot of the criticism he has lacks context, everything to do with eva (because her entire role in the story is to be a seductive femme fatale), some of the gripes he has with the games aren't significant enough to ruin them (like the rose boob jiggle), ignoring stuff like raikov and volgin's treatment of men, and in general he's doing a lot of cherry picking. compared to the rest of the game industry, metal gear actually does a damn good job at having female representation. MGS has had great characters since MGS1 came out like a thousand years ago, which is hilarious because games released now are still struggling to do that. in the grand scheme of things, is MGS as sexist as this guy says it is? i'd say no. but is it kind of creepy in the way it protays women sometimes (especially in 4)? i'd say yeah to that, but would argue that it's more of a general video game problem, rather than a MGS-exclusive one. he seems to be more upset by it than the average MGS fan, but he's absolutely and completely allowed to do that because he has every right to dislike certain aspects about something he enjoys, just like you and me.
I think the fact that he takes such a sudden exception to something not really particularly egregious in any way leaves me skeptical over how genuine his offense is. [editline]17th March 2015[/editline] It's pretty much like he was one of those kids playing Magic the Gathering at school, and then some popular clique comes along and mocks him, and suddenly it's a lame game and he never really liked it anyway.
but is it kind of creepy in the way it protays women sometimes (especially in 4)? i'd say yeah to that, but would argue that it's more of a general video game problem, rather than a MGS-exclusive one.
Garbage. It's not any more creepy towards portrayal of women than it is towards portraying men. If it was otherwise, yeah I'd say it's pretty sexist. Towards men, if anything, because all male characters in MGS are weird, while that's the case with only some women, on some occasions. However, that's not the case, so attributing "general video game problem" to MGS is straight-up, flat out wrong. All characters in Kojima's games are weird, it's the way it is.
how creepy something like the post-fight sequences with the B&B corps are.
Why is it not okay for the B&B crew to use sexual glorification in combat, but it's okay for Vamp, Ocelot, and Snake? You can grope every single soldier as Snake including FROGS. It's literally a game play mechanic to grab men's balls. I honestly think you have a biased view against women. Especially when a blind eye is turned for men, but ostracizes women.
Tried starting OP's video but all I got was.
I just want to remind people in peace walker if you want to unlock one of the best guns in the game you need to take your best friend on a sunset date, choke him out and beat the shit out of him to get him off and then fuck him inside a cardboard box this games pretty weird with men too. I dont think Metal Gear's sexist to any one gender I think it's just really fucking weird I also haven't played in a while but I definitely remember in MGS4 there are more shots of Snake's shapely buttocks than his face
So did he choose to ignore the apparent lovingly sculpted asses in the series.
Did he just totally ignored this?
So did he choose to ignore the apparent lovingly sculpted asses in the series.
Kojima specifically made Raiden's ass good but Snake's ass even better in MGS2. The series is dedicated to man ass.
Did he just totally ignored this?
To answer all these questions, yes he did ignore anything that does not involve women.
I refuse to believe that MGS mostly sexualises women when 95% of Rule34 on MGS is gay content.

He's not saying that arguments for MGS being sexist are completely pointless, he's saying the entire debate and discussion around it from any side is completely pointless. You are right that every single post is worthless, the difference is you're still taking it seriously and continuing to argue.
Paz raped Chico if he had actually bothered to investigate it properly like any critic/writer worth their merit would he'd have not royally fucked that up too.
It's not exactly a great secret that Japan doesn't hold women in the highest regard
gettin real fucking tired of people regurgitating this bs about 'sexy women in entertainment = devs/contry of origin/player-viewer-whatever hate women'
gettin real fucking tired of people regurgitating this bs about 'sexy women in entertainment = devs/contry of origin/player-viewer-whatever hate women'
But games that have sexy women and buffed men are sex power fantasies for male teens made by devs who have never seen a real woman with curves.
milkandcooki
It takes a special (although much more common now) type of person to talk about how pointless posts are, and then continue to write up one. I may agree with you about the games being nowhere as sexist as some people claim and most complaints completely lacking context, but I would not fall back on such a baseless argument by branding it "creepy" in the same post that I call another persons argument a worthless statement. A few people have said that he's entirely entitled to his opinion. He can dislike whatever he wants, but just because he's being subjective in what he says does not suddenly make him immune to criticism, as you seem to believe. People pointing out that he is wrong, or that he is giving in to this special snowflake tumblrrina tier of SJW attitude are doing something not dissimilar from what he is doing. The only difference is they may be trying to correct or inform or debate him in regards to statements he has made. I also don't see how correcting or contextualizing his (mostly) dumb-ass or incorrect points would drive anybody away from the series, unless they're the kind of snowflake that things that an argument is the same as harassment, or disagreeing with his points makes them sexist misogynist patriarchy supporting sock puppet shitheads. I'd like to end this post with a bit of a bit of an ad hominem though; should I be surprised that it's a white teen making a post like the one I just replied to?
that's a pretty bold statement to just throw out there
People shouldn't judge eastern media from a western perspective. There's plenty of women who work in the "geek" eastern industries (see: CLAMP and Studio Ghibli), and they don't only work on female centric content either.
You should just stay in tumblr with shit like this. Also it's ironic you're talking about high horsing, because holy shit dude
what'd you guys expect it's fucking milkandcooki
