It is voxel based. It uses vibrant and flat textures to create contrast. It uses a (seemingly) rudimentary combat system, Much of it (such as character creation and weapon creation) is fueled from creativity. It is (seemingly) randomly generated via chunks. Also, if anything, it is a clone (or takes inspiration from) 3D Dot Heroes. Except with a bigger emphasis on exploration (ala Minecraft) rather than Zelda like dungeon crawling.
Ok so then where did 3D Dot Heroes get its inspiration? To me it looks like Zelda.
oh hey another minecraft clone
Minecraft invented the cube obvious ripoff!!!!
http://wollay.blogspot.com/2011/11/extended-cube-world-faq.html
Q: Which games inspired you? A: - Minecraft: Endless random world made up of blocks - Zelda, Secret of Mana, Landstalker, Monster Hunter and more: Style, gameplay, overall feel - Diablo, World of Warcraft: RPG elements - And many more
So yeah, this seems like a fun game. I hope to see it released soon.
Now you are trying to change your words around so you can avoid so dumb ratings because of your stupid quick decision , earlier you said this is not a clone because a definition of a clone is :a person or thing that duplicates, imitates, or closely resembles another in appearance, function, performance, or style. So in your arrogant eyes you view this as a "clone" because it uses voxels, but in reality it does not "closely resemble nor imitate" Minecraft. That's like saying every game with a gun "imitates or closely resembles" Call of Duty.
Quick, dismiss my longer post because it actually makes sense and then try picking apart my shorter, obviously dumb post in order to seem smart, but then fail miserably because providing a definition of the word "clone" and then basically saying "it's not one" over and over again isn't actually an argument. And saying that this game closely resembles Minecraft is not like saying any game with a gun resembles Call of Duty. That's a terrible comparison. It'd be more like if a game was released which involved an underwater city made of living creatures that the player goes through, collecting pieces of scrap metal to make a submarine in order to get to different underwater cities made of living creatures, upgrading it to fight other submarines and eventually make a big underwater station to live in, and then the game got really popular, and then a few months later a game was released that involved an underwater city made up of living creatures that the player goes through, collecting pieces of scrap metal to make a gun with which to kill a big evil guy at one end of the city, before another game was released a few months after that which involved a giant underwater city made up of living creatures that the player goes through, collecting stars and completing quests for non player characters, before settling down in the stomach of some vast underwater whale and raising a family. brb making a game about living underwater cities.
This games looking awesome, looks like something I could spend a ton of hours playing. I could probably just walk around the world, it looks so pleasant!
Definitely buying this. I've been wanting a Minecraft/Terraria type game that is more an RPG than anything else. It seems to have much smoother gameplay than either of them. [editline]5th February 2012[/editline]
Look, the way I see it is that as soon as Minecraft became popular, all of a sudden, completely by coincidence, a bunch of games resembling it crept up out of nowhere. You can go on about how "lol game has cubes but dat don't mene it's a clone lols" but the fact of the matter is, the vast majority of these games wouldn't have been thought of if the developers hadn't seen how popular Minecraft had got. I just get sick of these naive people going on about how it's ~inspired~ by Minecraft, and even more sick of people who tell those people they're thick and that it's nothing like Minecraft. This game could've been made without resorting to a world made up of cubes, but the designers thought "hey, that Minecraft game's gotten pretty popular. Our game has no gameplay reason to have a cube world, but if we make it resemble Minecraft in some way, no doubt a large portion of the fanbase will flock to our game in droves." Seriously. While I'll admit that this game looks pretty fun, you can't tell me that it's nothing like Minecraft. Guessing I'm gonna get a bunch of dumb ratings from people with a warped sense of what originality is and what it isn't.
I'm guessing this game was inspired the same way a lot are. The developers saw a popular game like Minecraft and said something like "What if we took the basic premise of this game and instead focused on RPG elements?" A lot of games are inspired that way, and you can get some fun results from it.

This game is a lot different from Minecraft= Sandbox Builder Cube World= Action-RPG Sandbox Yes this game was inspired by Minecraft because the use of voxels and randomly generated worlds, but so what it was not a copy of Minecraft like you stated earlier. This was inspired not just by Minecraft, but by many games. I'm just wondering do you think Notch just farted and thought hey I'm making this thing called Minecraft with voxels, no he was inspired by other games.
Clearly a ripoff of infiniminer.

Eh, the only thing that really interested me in minecraft was the aspect of playing a survival themed game with friends (like stranded on an island kinda theme...) and even then it felt limited. The game looks nice but I don't think I'll buy it.
Game looks interesting, I'll have to check it out. Anyone know the music from the trailer and what it's from?
I'm not really interested in the RPG style combat, if I see more done with the crafting and building I'd be more interested.
oh hey another minecraft clone
It's like I'm actually reading a Youtube comment!
If anyone asks, it's a rip off of Terraria cause it's inspired by minecraft and has a larger focus on action-rpg :downs:
I probably wont pla- did he just scale a wall? Ok im playing this
I'm not really interested in the RPG style combat, if I see more done with the crafting and building I'd be more interested. It's like I'm actually reading a Youtube comment!
The dev stated that he wasn't focusing on building too much, but the crafting system is awesome because you can design your own weapons and suit them to your needs.
If ANYTHING it's more like Terarria, due to the RPG elements.
I'm going to wait for some reviews. I'm not stupid to buy it right when it comes out. That's why there's a shit ton of people bitching and moaning about games they overhyped or had high expectations for once they've released.
You can walk up one-high ledges without jumping, GOTY must buy
oh hey another minecraft clone
So does that make minecraft another infiminer clone?
I gotta say, im really psyched about this. Ive been wanting a game that you can play with friends for a long time, since we pretty much milked all of the experience from other similar games.
